KH3 is underrated and overhated
3 is a decent game, but the thing riding against it was the long ass wait and regular people not getting the background drama or how much of a pain in the ass it was to get toy story and big hero 6 in and work with Disney.

I shoulder surfed a KH3 playthrough and it seemed to me that, if you're a fan of the series, KH3 is a huge meaty cut of everything you could possibly want. the vibe I get from people who are really mad about it is that they just have terminal autism brain and would've bitched about it no matter how it was made (but they still bought it and 100%ed it)

In my opinion 1 is the worst of the mainline entries as that gameplay did not fucking age well.

Ehhh in some ways. Personally I liked it better then a lot of the side games. The one thing it did better then any other was the hit detection.

You'd get exp for hitting enemy swords mid swing and deflecting attacks and that was something I always missed in the others.

I played through all of the kingdom hearts game this spring except KH3.
I think I was burned out.
Also, chains of memoires sucks ass and I could not be arsed to finished it.
Fuck that game. Watch the cutscenes on youtube.

3 is great. It got shit on by fairweather fans who never played anything but 1 and 2 who wanted a repeat of 2.

Eh, its not the best game in the series and it still has its flaws, but you can't deny that it does surpass 1 at least in terms of actually having functional gameplay.

I beat 1.5 all the way through but got cucked on 2 because I wanted to beat Organization XIII before going to the next game. I can't remember if I was on hard or critical mode for all that.

Still won't buy it on PC til it comes to Steam.

I fucking swear this series better come to Steam eventually.

I think Square is slowly trying to untangle themselves from Sony and become multi-platform like every other Japanese publisher at this point. for me the big signal this was happening was when FF7 Remake, which they swore up and down would be a Playstation exclusive, suddenly and unexpectedly showed up on EGS with no announcement or fanfare. when FF16 was in the news, every time Yoshida was asked about a PC port, he had a reaction like it was inevitable but he was under some kind of contractual agreement or silent understanding that forbade him from talking about it. Square has made a huge effort to get a wide selection of their catalogue on PC. Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Valkyrie Profile, Star Ocean, NieR, The World Ends With You, Bravely Default and Octopath Traveler have all partially or completely landed on Steam, just to name a few; the Kingdom Hearts series is their last significant holdout and it would not surprise me if the next game has either a simultaneous or delayed release on PC.

The order of the franchise to play should always, ALWAYS be release order. 1.5 is great but I cringe at people experiencing 358 before 2.

Also the chain of memories manga is pretty dam good. Id recommend it over the playing the game easy

My biggest problem with 3 is that 90% of the game is filler.

It's a decent story, good gameplay, and honestly I think it portrays the Organization better than any other game. They all have distinct personalities, goals, and methods of getting what they want sometimes in conflict with each other. Which is something we NEVER get again.
I loved the Organization in this game purely because of how distinct everyone was. I think they got a good showing in 2 as well, but Dream Drop Distance shat the bed so bad with that whole “REAL” Organization XIII shit where apparently everything and everyone was just part of an unrealistically ellaborate ruse to help Xehanort accomplish his goals or whatever.

I finished KH3 hating Xehanort not because of how he is portrayed, but because how much this character messed up what was once a cute, simple story

I always laughed at people's crazy expectations for this game thinking the entire cast would or could be playable. I remember fans asking for a Roxas mode for the DLC or a Reverse Rebirth style thing for Riku and just general things that weren't possible for the time frame of a project that's a borderline disaster.

I loved 1 then and still like it now. It's clunky but it's still enjoyable.

I blame Nomura for doing all these friggin prequels. You also can't pay me enough money to ever play 358 again.

There's no reason there are no Organization fights to break up the pace. Especially Larxene and Vanitas who seem to just fight you every chance they get, orders be damned. It's very clear Larxene was supposed to fight you as you encounter her in a large boss fighty-area. Vanitas' cutscenes in Monsters scream boss battle and yet there is none. I was hoping DLC would fix this, but it didn't. ANYTHING to break up that abysmal pace. It's hilarious how a decade long "development" game was so clearly rushed.
Overall, I can't state this enough, but I'm just happy I'm not seeing any faggots, niggers, or trannies.
Did you forget Xion? She's a boys memories that takes the form of a girl that then appears as a boy. She's literally trans! It's hilarious troons haven't ruined this franchise yet. But I don't blame them for not playing 358/2 days either.
