There's so much news about North Korea right now and what Un is doing, I got a suggestion for a NK megathread, so here it is. Post the world's greatest nation's antics here. I'm merging a few of the more recent threads to continue discussion.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in has pushed for a new plan for a rapid war with North Korea and an overhaul of the country's defense industry to overwhelm and crush the North's government, the South Korean newspaper The Chosun Ilbo reported Tuesday.

Moon took office in May promising to attempt to engage diplomatically with North Korea and seek peace, but in the months since, the North has provoked the international community with missile tests at a blistering pace.

For some time, South Korea has been training a "decapitation force," reportedly with the help of the US Navy's SEAL Team 6, but now an increasingly bold North Korea may demand quicker action.

South Korea's new plan identifies more than 1,000 targets for precision missile fires and sites for marines to drop in and quickly kill North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, the paper reported.

The plan represents a more independent version of South Korea's current plan, which relies on support from US aircraft carriers. As it stands, no major military commander recommends military action against North Korea, which has a staggering array of conventional — and potentially nuclear — weapons pointed at Seoul, where 26 million call home.

But South Korea's new plan to quickly and decisively dominate the North relies on reforming the defense-acquisition process and cutting out wasteful spending to wield the full might of its economic dominance against Pyongyang, according to the report. For that reason, don't expect the plan to take effect anytime soon.

TWO MEN! ONE DESTINY!

I don't even care if people think it's dumb or idiotic, it's a really awesome novel approach.
I love how it just has a random dude dunking a basketball in the middle of it. I guess it's supposed to be a reference to Dennis Rodman? Either way, that whole video is fucking hilarious, and I am loving the Berenstain universe more and more.

I suspect so.
Also...

Former NBA star Dennis Rodman has has an emotional meltdown on live television revealing he received a call from the White House ahead of President Donald Trump's historic meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

Speaking from Singapore and wearing a Make America Great Again cap, Rodman told CNN that a White House staffer called him to tell him the president was proud of him.

Rodman struck up an unlikely friendship with Kim over their shared love of basketball, but said former President Barack Obama never took him seriously.

The former Celebrity Apprentice contestant described Kim as a "big kid" who wants to see the world, openly crying as he spoke.

"It's a great day. I am here to see it. I'm so happy," he said.

Rodman also appeared to take credit for bringing the men together and said he always believed in helping North Korea.

While Rodman is currently in Singapore and has met Kim on several occasions, he is not playing an official part of the high-level summit.

"I'm out of it. I'm so happy just to be here, man, and see the whole world get as emotional as I did," he said.

"Donald Trump should take a lot of credit because he went out of the box."

The eccentric star also said he got death threats following his return from North Korea in 2014.

"I was sitting up protecting everything," Rodman said.

"But I kept my head up high, brother. I knew things were gonna change. I was the only one."

Rodman also said Obama didn't give him the time of day and praised Mr Trump for meeting his good friend Kim.

Has anyone else been seeing a bunch of new hate for Trump recently cause of this meeting? On Twitter a lot of people are saying that it's terrible that he would meet with a dictator like Kim, even to do something like this. I guess they'll find any way to shit on Trump, but I legitimately don't get it

First it was, "Omg! Drumpf is going to get in to a nuclear war with NK! What is he doing?! We need to seek peace!"

Then it was, "The Cheeto is seriously meeting with KJU? He's a fucking dictator. He needs to be mean and show him what's what!"

They really will bitch and moan no matter what. Even Shapiro is having a bitch fit on his Twatter about it.

You just can't please the idiots over social media.

At this point, they'll probably complain in either 2020 or 2024 "OMG! Drumpf is leaving office? Why can't he stay longer?!" just to find a way to fuel their hatred more.

lol I think Trump even tweeted about that, I'll edit this post later to find the exact tweet(s). It's pretty great.

Obama never made a movie trailer for his events, probably the reason why he didn't get elected a third time.

When in doubt, appeal to familiarity.

I wish they stole more Elder Scrolls music to use in the White House video to really get to Kim's heart.

Rodman could walk down the streets of NK, and everyone would step aside.

But if he walks down the street in some parts of the US, he'll be pelted with garbage and called a race-traitor for internalizing white man's racism for not hanging up on the President who called to congratulate him for quietly and without fanfare keeping open a diplomatic bridge that may have averted a nuclear war. Because identity politics say black men HAVE to hate Republican white men, no exceptions.

What's wrong with THIS picture?!

There's nothing inherently wrong or infeasible with appeasement as a foreign policy, so long as you are negotiating with a rational state actor. Hitler was not a rational state actor. These days, pretty much everyone, even Iran and North Korea are rational state actors once the nuclear factor enters the equation. When their very existence is at stake, there's a tremendous amount of incentive to approach diplomacy from the perspective of a rational state actor.

At no point is Kim Jon Un a rational state actor.

And I am wracking my brain trying to think of the last time appeasement had a good ending. I'm as far back as Ethelred the Unready, and it didn't work for him, either.

Hitler didn't have nukes in a world where enough people have them that just letting one fly may start a chain reaction where nobody stops till they're all launched..... don't ignore the reality that this is different than it was 80 years ago.

If you took the wrong approach then, at worst, you'd have to take ten thousand casualties to remove an enemy army from your country.

Screw up now, you take 10 million casualties and may have nothing left.
