There's so much news about North Korea right now and what Un is doing, I got a suggestion for a NK megathread, so here it is. Post the world's greatest nation's antics here. I'm merging a few of the more recent threads to continue discussion.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in has pushed for a new plan for a rapid war with North Korea and an overhaul of the country's defense industry to overwhelm and crush the North's government, the South Korean newspaper The Chosun Ilbo reported Tuesday.

Moon took office in May promising to attempt to engage diplomatically with North Korea and seek peace, but in the months since, the North has provoked the international community with missile tests at a blistering pace.

For some time, South Korea has been training a "decapitation force," reportedly with the help of the US Navy's SEAL Team 6, but now an increasingly bold North Korea may demand quicker action.

South Korea's new plan identifies more than 1,000 targets for precision missile fires and sites for marines to drop in and quickly kill North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, the paper reported.

The plan represents a more independent version of South Korea's current plan, which relies on support from US aircraft carriers. As it stands, no major military commander recommends military action against North Korea, which has a staggering array of conventional — and potentially nuclear — weapons pointed at Seoul, where 26 million call home.

But South Korea's new plan to quickly and decisively dominate the North relies on reforming the defense-acquisition process and cutting out wasteful spending to wield the full might of its economic dominance against Pyongyang, according to the report. For that reason, don't expect the plan to take effect anytime soon.

North Korea had an official song made by their North Korean female K-Pop band for the upcoming nuclear war called "Nuclear War".

I am 100% serious

>Have a K-Pop song made specifically for when you're nuking and killing Capitalist scum.
Can you imagine the government making you write this, knowing that you actually might be dead soon because of them?

Might as well leave this here for those interested.

North Korea moving intercontinental ballistic missile to west coast, report South Korean media

North Korea has been observed moving what appeared to be an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) towards its west coast, South Korean media reported, citing an unidentified intelligence source.

The Asia Business Daily said the rocket started moving on Monday, a day after North Korea's sixth nuclear test, and was spotted moving at night to avoid surveillance.

North Korea has launch facilities for its missile program on its west coast.

South Korea's defense ministry said they were unable to confirm the contents of the report.

Yesterday, the defense ministry said in parliament the North was considered to be ready to launch more missiles, including ICBMs, at any time.

"We have continued to see signs of possibly more ballistic missile launches. We also forecast North Korea could fire an intercontinental ballistic missile," said Chang Kyung-soo, a defense ministry official.

In July, North Korea tested two ICBMs that could fly about 10,000km (6,200 miles), putting many parts of the US mainland within range and prompting a new round of international sanctions against Pyongyang.

The US Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, said North Korean leader Kim Jong-un was "begging for war" and urged the 15-member UN Security Council to impose the "strongest possible" sanctions to deter him and shut down his trading partners.

US President Donald Trump held calls with foreign leaders on Monday, including South Korean President Moon Jae-in and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and the White House declared "all options to address the North Korean threat are on the table".

South Korea is talking to Washington about deploying aircraft carriers and strategic bombers to the Korean peninsula, and has been ramping up its own defenses in the meantime.

Mr Trump and Mr Moon agreed to scrap a warhead weight limit on South Korea's missiles, South Korea's presidential office said, enabling it to strike the North with greater force in the event of a military conflict. The White House said Mr Trump gave "in-principle approval" to the move.

"We believe the unlimited warhead payload will be useful in responding to North Korea's nuclear and missile threats," Defense Ministry spokesman Moon Sang-gyun said.

(article corrected for spelling because holy shit)

Yea this isn't going to go well for NK, I'm seeing a lot of the same terms and words used before the 03 invasion bandied around again this time though there are WMD's in play.

I think Fatty and the old guard might be trying to play a very dangerous game that nobody else really wants to play but will because if they don't this problem will be prolonged for another generation and nobody wants that, the problem has been put off long enough.

It's just a question of who'll start shit. Will a coalition of Western Backed Allies surgically strike NK? Will the Chinese finally step up and crack some skulls? Or will Fatboy shoot a firework at an ammo cache?

At this point, I'd say anything goes. I would love it if either the Allies or China stop them first.

#fatty will start it he'll ramp up the rhetoric at some point in the next day or so and threaten in a not so veiled way SK or the USA and the US will do what it's good at precision air strikes to neutralise the target, NK will then throw a fit and try and do something stupid and then America will do what it's exceptionally good at and dismantle the NK airforce and major static locations paving the way forward for ground war.

North Korea moving intercontinental ballistic missile to west coast, report South Korean media

TBH I'm skeptical about this one. It was first reported over 12hrs ago by the Business Times, which unless they have highly placed sources in SK intelligence seems like a bit of a long bow.

What does have me worried is that the chatter I've seen on defence oriented sites is talking about the NKs mention of EMP capabilites of their new firecracker. Most media just reported about a nuke detonating on Guam.

Given that 3 comms satellites have died in the last week or so from unknown causes, if the Norks were to detonate an EMP in orbit as a proof of their capabilities, the ramifications could be even worse than a pacific island being glassed.

Dammit I just want NK to get fuckin' rolled by China or something. All this suspense and dick waving is getting old.

The problem with doing it right away is that no one wants to get their hands dirty with the Norks, as stupid as that sounds.

The problem is that for all the talk that Russia and China keep yammering on about "resolving this peacefully", everyone knows that Kim won't stop until most, if not all, of the major powers are annihilated (even their major allies). Even they have to draw the line sooner or later. And with their stances on the situation, that moment could be too late.

It's already been said that China doesn't want the South Koreans and the US on their border, something they easilly could remedy by just beefing it up themselves and shooting any refugees that try to cross it. And Russia could show more bouts of brute force against the people who think it's a good idea to threaten armies with better and more advanced equipment. But they don't. Or more accurately, they won't. It'd be so much easier if they were just willing to accept the Fatty can't be reasoned with. But unless he actually goes ahead and bombs a city, even one in China or Russia, I doubt either country would ever get the hint.

China and Russia's attitude to North Korea seems to echo Homer Simpson with the hog roast.

'It's just a little crazy. It's still good! It's still good!'

The alternative is ending up in a death camp for refusing the generous offer of writing the soundtrack to your own demise at the hands of a fat manchild with dangerous toys.

I'm sure each of these lovely ladies gets an extra spoonful of rice for playing this music.
