Who is Zendaya fucking to have so many high-profile roles?
She is a actress who got her start in Disney TV slop, who then pushed her for Spider Man movie's love interest and gained a big social media following since. Her social media following, and perceived ability to get a number of people to go a see a movie makes it worth it for studios to cast her despite her being a very emotionally flat and unremarkable actress.

So blame kids on social media and their parasocial relationships.

This movie is going to be terrible to the point not even Dolan fans will be arsed to defend, and it'll flop harder than Tenet. And Dolan will behave the exact same way, throwing a massive bitch tantrum like an autistic toddler and then blaming the studio for everything, pretending nobody knows he has always had carte blanche for every single one of his projects since 2008.

Someone get this hothead outta here. It's not even out yet and it's already 2deep4u. Bravo Nolan.
I will see it opening night at my local kinoplex maybe pirate it someday if I'm bored.

I don't think it's gonna flop, but people are gonna tear it apart viciously. When Troy was out, people weren't up for blood on YouTube (I think YT didn't even existed yet). They would have destroyed it completely for the artistic licenses they took.

I think this is gonna be the case. People will watch it, so I doubt it will flop, but the snobs will have a day saying it's bad due to the changes alone and others will call it woke as if previous versions never cast blacks before. It's gonna suffer the same fate as Gladiator II. People watched it but didn't care.

After I read that pooner Page was involved I gave up on the movie. I'm going to pirate it because I won't give money to a movie that has trannies in it.

We still have no much info of who's playing who, but it's kinda obvious Holland is Telemacus and Hathaway is Penelope. Bernthal is likely one of the suitors.

AI speculation is this:
  • Lupita Nyong'o: Plays Circe, the witch who keeps Odysseus with her for a year
  • Jon Bernthal: Plays the giant Cyclops Polyphemus (LMAO)
  • Robert Pattinson: Plays the Ghost of Achilles
  • Samantha Morton: Plays Anticleia
  • Himesh Patel: Plays Aeolus

Nyong'o makes sense as Circe, imo. I'm taking that Theron then could be Calypso or they can switch roles. That'd leave Zendaya as Athena and I'm gonna shoot myself.

More speculation has

Benny Safdie as Polyphemus (more sense than being Bernthal)
Corey Hawkins as Poseidon
Himesh Patel as Aeolus
Bill Irwin as Laertes
Zendaya as Calypso
Elliot Page – Hermes (LMAO)
John Leguizamo as Eumaeus
Jon Bernthal as Antious
Will Yun Lee as Amphinomus
Mia Goth as Ino
Charlize Theron as Athena

It makes sense that the non-white actors would get to play gods because "gods can be whatever they want" yadayada. I'm not happy at all with the decision, but I can see why it'd make sense for them.

This ones Hermes in Hallmark version:

Page being Hermes would be hilarious.

I unironically would have just preferred them to cast actual Greeks over the cast Nolan went with, even the white actors are the most bland picks imaginable. Only Cosmo Jarvis is cool and that's just because I thought he was great in Shogun.

Did an AI generator prompt come up with this casting list?
Nope. The cast exists, the AI tried to figure out their roles. We still know nothing for sure except Damon (Odysseus) and Holland (Telemachus). I'm quite sure Anne Hathaway is gonna be Penelope, but could well be Athenea and Samantha Morton is Penelope.

Yes, the armor isn't historically correct. But did anyone expect this to be the case for a HOLLYWOOD FANTASY movie? You have to keep the audience in mind. They have to believe that the movie is set in ancient Greece and the audience's knowledge about ancient history let alone armor and fashion is fairly limited. The costumes have to be designed to be believable, not historically accurate. Sadly that also means that the costumes look shitty.

Is it written in Holland's contract that in every movie he's in the alien looking Zendaya must be in it as well or some shit?

Is Hollywood that desperate to make these two a thing?
