Lol, Star Fox, Wild Trax (named something else in NA, can't be assed to look it up), Perfect Dark, EB and FE 64 (canceled because teams couldn't figure out N64 development), the total lack of N64 RPGs outside of Paper Mario.

Fuck it, lets go deeper. Sprite size limits on NES and SNES, color limitations on NES, blurry SD textures on Wii, Gamecube disc size limits, no video on N64, no color on Gameboy. Or did you think it was a stylistic choice to make all original GB games black and white?

Edit: Minor objects in Kirby:FL lagged far harder than anythi g in TotK, too, if you want to talk about more recent stuff.
The hardware limitations aren't stopping nintendo. The rampant nepotism is finally catching up to them and there are no more miyamotos left in the industry to clean up all their mistakes. Just glownigger plants and political propagandists. That is if they aren't pussyworshipping every moment they draw breath like most japanese games are all about.

Literally nobody cares about Star Ocean here and that makes me sad.
Less than a year ago I played it and fucking hated it. Was constantly thinking "why is this thing put at the same level as Chrono Trigger, Lunar, Xenogears, Final Fantasy Tactics or Grandia". I thought for a time it was nostalgia for the games I played but I'm currently playing Valkyrie Profile and loving it (till the fucking thing decided to freeze on me on a crucial fight no matter the emulator I use...), baffled that the same company made both.

Why do I loathe it? The story is meandering and lacks any sort of context if you don't do a library infodump sidequest, the battle system is aids if you don't follow a guide to break it in half and worse of all, I was expecting a space faring adventure visiting planets yet I got a palette swapped medieval fantasy rpg. That the localization was ass did not help either (played the psx version), one of the most literal trabslations I've ever seen.
Also it was only in the Japanese direct, but Good-Feel showed their new game Otogi Katsugeki Mameda no Bakeru: Oracle Saitarou no Sainan!!, which is a spiritual successor to the Goemon series. Looks great, hope it comes out here in the west.

I've only played Legend of the Mystical ninja (loved it and replayed it throughout the years a few times) and have always had a soft spot for ol Goemon, so interested on this one.

Literally the worst issue my Switch had was battery bulge from having it plugged into its dock at all times and that was easily remedied by taking it to a local electronics repair shop and having the battery replaced. Now I just make sure to leave it off the dock unless I intend to play something, and I immediately take it off and power it off when I'm done.

The fuck is battery bulge?

I've left my Switch on the dock pretty much since I bought it in 2017 I've never noticed anything.

Literally what it sounds like. The battery bulging outwards and swelling. It can happen with rechargeable batteries over time and through continuous usage.

Something something, natural byproduct of how lithium ion batteries generate internal gasses and create internal pressure over time as the battery experiences constant charging and discharging.

Guess I just got lucky then

It sounds like you got a defective unit (no shit, but you know what I mean), I've never heard of that happening with a Switch. But one of my PSP batteries did that way back and it's definitely a pain.

Are you smoking something? That score sounded AMAZING. And apparently, the original score is being entirely redone by the original composer, Naoko Shimamura.

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time revealed that the world of the Star Ocean games is actually an in-universe video game, an MMORPG to be exact. How you feel about the twist is going to vary, a lot. People whose first Star Ocean was that game tend not to be bothered by it.
The remade music sounded worse than the original with unnecessary extra flourishes in all of the songs. Including the forest maze song which already had them meaning you now hear *doot do do doot doot dooooot* four times instead of just twice. It sounds like fucking shit, man. I don't care who made it, if its shit its shit.

You maybe the first person I've seen complaining. Almost everybody else I've seen talking about it have been nothing but positive.

You should consider checking with Nintendo about a replacement unit/battery if you are still within the warranty period. Otherwise you need to replace that battery; a bulge in your battery is very bad. Doing the replacement is very easy as long as you are certain you've got the correct screwdriver.

Normies are going to be none too pleased when they buy this and experience isometric 3D for the first time.

Edit: And you can bet your ass I'll hold their feet to the fire for ruining the best videogame OST of all time, too.

I think they will love isometric as it gives them more precision in their movements so they can do more complicated maneuvers without dying because theywere slightly off. Journoscum will knock it though.
