He goes from kid who wants to prove himself to closeted weirdo deeply in love with his bully and that shit felt like authorial fetishism leaking into the script (also why I suspect he didn't confirm Deku and Ura getting together, Hori is a homo)
Wouldn't be surprised if shippers pushed him into it, they got Kyoto tower lit up in their colors for the Two Heroes movie promo. It was a Japan twitter campaign where the combination of characters who got the most tweets got the promo lighting. I'm sure there were normal people who liked them being rivals voting too but BakuDeku fans are loud and pushy, probably because they're defensive about the "weirdo in love with his bully" thing

Ironic because the ending made it so Bakugo when he bullied the shit out of him wasn't exactly wrong after all, Deku's absolutely fucking useless and not a hero without a quirk or anyone giving a power to him.

Still confused it takes most of Season 1 for Bakugo to twig there is something going on with Deku.

Dude was a quirkless loser and all of a sudden he has seemingly a super human quirk and is entering UA, despite his mother having a floating quirk and his dad breathing fire? But Deku gets Super Strength?

Best way to sink the Deku/Bakugo ship would've been to just go with the "half brother" twist. Apparently Deku's father had some sort of fire Quirk. Again, it would've done ALL of the following:
- Strengthens the bond between the two characters
- Bakugo not turning evil was one of the first big "twists", by having them be half-brothers you can play up the foil/rival character
- Retcons Deku's weird obsession with Bakugo into some sort of unexplained sixth sense, allowing him to move on with his life
- Salvages Deku's character without harming Bakugo's

Of course, there would be SOME shippers who wouldn't care if they share a common father but it would make the whole thing make more sense and less off-putting.

The pairing is unhealthy as hell and only reinforces how much of a cancer Bakugo is on MHA, but I still would've appreciated it if Horikoshi had enough of a spine to go "So actually Deku and Bakugo are a couple" at the end.

Cross-posting this from the Overwatch thread, will MHA fans even bother to buy these skins for the game?

So Blizzard decided to make an OW2 + MHA collaboration:

https://youtube.com/watch?v=6QaQParsa-M
And imagine doing a collaboration with MHA, out of all shows, because they can't cash in on the Chinese market because of MHA being banned there, and not collaborating with a "real shonen" series like DBZ, Naruto, Demon Slayer, Attack on Titan or Jujutsu Kaizen. (less so for the last three)

And are we going to see games collaborating with CGDCT shows in the future? Is K-On! too old of a show to get a collaboration with in 2024?

Well if that just isn’t straight up confirmation that MHA is beyond dead and Hori burnt or capital I don’t know what is.

I watched the season finale out of curiosity and holy fuck the manga's garbage pacing makes things hilarious since this episode is like fetishizing how cool it is to commit suicide sacrifice yourself

Toga gets a super happy ending where she basically kills herself to save Ochako

Hawks is super happy about almost being killed

Both of which are portrayed as almost sad

and then it cuts to a super bombastic battle of All Might in his dumbass mech suit he told no one about (literally was watching other heroes and students get killed while having the most OP mech armor), ready to get killed and having it livestreamed and its portrayed as the happiest most epic thing ever.

So…we are getting like 30 extra pages for the final chapter.

I assume the backlash was bad indeed if Hori is having to clearly add stuff to explain the tone shift and ending.

Highlights of a few additions that have been leaked

- Hori did a lot of art corrections

- Deku's new iron man suit is in action, definitely a bootleg of the MCU Nano Iron Man Suit, solidifying Deku as All Might Jr.

- Deku says he'd be a teacher even if he still had One for All (lol cope!)

- Dabi confirmed dead, and Shoto gets a few more scenes

- Bakugo got his All Might trading card signed

- It takes 8 years for both Deku and Ochako to realize that they shouldn't do everything by themselves and should learn help from others (even though both of them learned this lesson multiple times in school)

- Ochako is having visions of Toga (which given a fucking trading card has more durability than Ochako who required all of Toga's blood to even still be alive is embarrassing) which make her realize she should live for herself so it implies that she and Deku are going to be a thing as they hold hands in the end.

= And the new hero rankings (the thing that caused Endeavor to abuse his family) are here

Somehow a washing machine made the top 10.

Also a funny fact is that Endeavor became the number 2 hero at the age of 20, so he rose up 2 years after High School, and then there's Bakugo who is only 15, symbol of victory and he can't even be in the top 10.

Overall this is a very minor improvement over the manga ending, it is still ass, but I hope Horikoshi only just does work as an artist rather than as a writer, or at the very least write a series that isn't on a weekly magazine.

LOL, LMAO even

Hopefully it's 29 pages of Deku doing his night shift at McDonalds to cover his living costs along with being a quirkless teacher and the last page is Bakugo doing tongue twister with Ochako.

As a sidenote, I'm getting pretty annoyed that final volumes are starting to be the real ending instead of a neat epilogue extra thing.

Or something like this... it sounds fine. This should have been the final chapter instead of whatever the shit he did the last 5 chapters. But this is more at how pointless that expanded "epilogue was" than this new ending being anything to write home about.

Goddamn I still want an extra chapter for Vigilantes...

It's amusing that Monoma, of all people outranks everyone from class 1-A except (somehow) Shoji.

You and me both. I honestly dislike how a lot of stuff is now ‘this critically important thing is not in the work’ or ‘the the actual ‘
complete story comes after the final chapter’

Works are just increasing feeling less complete.

It is kind of understandable given how Weekly Shonen Jump is crunching their authors to the bone, but also how Horikoshi just overworks himself that he has to do this shit in volume releases.
