MMBN definitely has a lot of points where the thing to do is to just run around the overworld and talk to + interact with absolutely everything until you find whatever pushes you forward. At least the environments are small to where that's not too much of a hassle
Yeah, and I love the aesthetic of the game's world so it's not exactly unenjoyable, but I just don't have much patience anymore. If I go back now it'll probably be with a guide.

Apparently some old Japanese exclusive MMBN mobile games were recently fan translated, and they actually seem good, designed just like the GBA ones. I'm gonna probably try getting back into playing through the series so I can get to those next, it's not often something like this happens.

It's not entirely the same but it reminds me of finally getting to play the finished version of Star Fox 2, a "new" traditional entry in an abandoned series that's exactly like the classics because it technically is a classic. It's way more exciting to me than anything Capcom has announced in a long time lol

Holy moly. I wanna try those.

Yeah, Japan got a lot more than we did with MMBN. I would have been all in on getting that Battlechip Gate accessory that lets you send those toy battlechips into the game, had it been released worldwide.

The battlechips were released in America, though only for some LCD toy thing, I think. They came with the figurines, too. They're neat little things, though they really do feel like toys with the kind of plastic you can squeeze, and if you tap om them, they feel hollow. The pins are real, though, but just serve as a binary thing to let the machine know exactly which battlechip is connected. So you could just turn any battle chip into any other one by just cutting and conjoining its traces.

I haven't looked into how to get those games yet, hopefully it's something I can figure out how to put on Steam Deck. Let me know if you try them before I get around to them.

Me too, I'd have been really hyped to have that chip reader thing. It reminds me of the Yu-Gi-Oh duel disc, I absolutely love that kinda stuff. I actually miss gimmicky attachments like that in general, like the e-Reader. I really hope Nintendo does something wacky with Switch 2, I can't believe I'm saying that because 5-10 years ago it was my main complaint about them, ever since the Wii actually (I still hate motion controls tbh).

With how capcom is today i'd be fine with nothing megaman related ever again, at most just a legends and starforce collection and nothing else

Found a copy of Mega Man 11 in the store two weeks ago and picked it up. It's not bad! I like it more than I liked 10 on the Wii. Seems like ages ago.

But I couldn't not get it.
11 is a lot of fun, the gimmick takes a while to sink into my brain though. i forget how overpowered speed gear is until i hit a section they obviously want you to use it on and then the rest of it's smooth sailing. honestly a great return to form for mega man, but it's 6 years old. i think @Dynamite Bean is right, that the best to hope for are the star force and legends collections, and then that Capcom takes some time to re-get its shit together.

Those would be awesome, but even they'll probably have some gay woke trigger warnings and/or censorship. Companies can't even give us overpriced old ROMs without spitting in our faces anymore.

This is the absolutely correct stance.

With every new entry we'd be rolling the dice on them doing something stupid. I consider it a minor miracle that MM9-11 didn't go down the Powered Up route.

Part of it I think is that nobody in Capcom wants to do MM, because they consider it Inafune's thing.

I’ve never played a single MM game. Unless Marvel vs Capcom counts.

I would like to get into some MM games. Can someone please suggest what to start with/best MM game (PC)?

In what way? I thought it did some interesting stuff, like the level creation. It did censor Oil Man in the English version.

If you mean official PC releases, idk. Most of the collections are probably available there, but virtually all of them can be emulated easily, I think.

My recommendation is Mega Man X. It's a great starting point and one of the very best games in the entire franchise. Starting from Mega Man 1 is viable but Mega Man 7 is possibly the best in the classic series, if that's where you want to start.

There are the Mega Man X collections on PC. I'd recommend the first collection. Mega Man X1-X4 are some of the best Mega Man games I've ever played.

Only a fool does not emulate the platformers, honestly. Just use Retroarch and the appropriate cores, sheesh.

Roll's route.

It's one of those things Classic fans try to forget.
It's funny, I remember at the time arguing with some libtards about MMPU, and they were of course defending Oil Man being censored, but incest never came up. They'll happily praise ridiculous changes like that, but they never asked for the incest to be changed (it didn't even come up). Isn't that interesting...

Not trying to drag politics into this, I'm just amused by the priorities they have. Altering perceived (often imagined) racist features in fictional, non-human characters will always be one of the most stupid and ironically racist things the left obsesses with.
