I've only seen Uodoo and part of the jungle arc, but I liked what I saw. It had really cool police cars and overpasses, and it really reminded me of the Clone Wars underworld episodes -- a feeling I haven't gotten since seeing Outlaw Star.
You gotta finish it. Ypsilon is my baby princess.

I'm watching Dougram rn, it's pretty GOAT'd so far
Watching Galient lately. It's really good. Leans really hard into the fantasy setting, which is nice. Bad guy is also not-Chirico.

New model kit for Gunleon(SRW Z) and it also can transform into its Magna Mode

Some lesser known shows that haven't been mentioned, but deserve a look:

Back Arrow: only three people watched this. Its budget was around 50 cents, and it's really dumb but it's a good time. It reminded me of something you'd see on Kids WB back in the day. Warring states where soldiers can manifest their will into a mecha. Starts off pretty normal then takes a huge hit from a crack pipe and goes off the rails (in an interesting way). Not for everyone, but it's short.

Godannar: Or its full title, Marriage of God and Soul: Godannar. It blends super robo cheesiness with melodramatic corniness to create a weird nacho platter that you can never tell if it's being serious. You have really serious scenes with charactera dying, but one of the onlookers bounces so hard her tits pop her shirt open, and then another character screams his attack's name to avenge them. It will test how much cheese you can handle. It's the most anime thing ever. If you enjoy it, you'll be screaming along with them. NOTE: I highly recommend the English dub if you want to hear people destroy their vocal cords yelling for 23 minutes. They give it their all.

Stardriver: An atypical mecha show that can best be described as "Revolutionary Girl Utena with mechs".

While I have your attention, I want to give a very sincere, heartfelt fuck you to Darling in the Franxx. Eat shit, and if you enjoy it for any reason, please visit a doctor and get a CT scan. It may save your life.

What is it about that show that causes such rage and hatred exactly? Not just to it, but also those who find some enjoyment in it?

I mean, it is flawed, but I wouldn’t call it an absolute disaster. Guess this means I need to get a CT scan, as I found some good things in the show, even if it doesn’t completely save it.

ADV's Godannar dub is great. One of the few English dubs of a super robot anime that actually get the tone down right. Their Getter Armageddon dub is too bogged down by wooden, community theater performances and Geneon's New Getter dub is just too low energy. But ADV gets it right.

Also Franxx is just boring and sorta mismanaged. Not dogshit, but nothing to write home about one way or the other.

Godannar does look like a pretty interesting series. Even if part of my interest has to do with the fanservice.

And Franxx I agree had a mismanaged production, especially post episode 15, which is when the boring episodes started. Shame too.

The fanservice is great. Kimura designed some gorgeous women. It's a shame he passed away, but at least he still contributed most of the characters for the new Code Geass.

Sakura Wars is pretty gr8, especially if you want more lesbian mecha content (I know it's technically harem, those bitches still gay AF with each other and most of the fan content is f/f)

The Sakura Wars games were something. But only two have been released internationally the rest not so much, but I recall articles on EGM but since they were SRPGs they weren't popular. Worse they were on Saturn which wasn't successful States side. From what I gather the TV series from 2000 wasn't that popular that much with fans of the game even though it was 26 episodes.

The first OVA was perfect in almost every way, but the second OVA was unwatchable. It felt like a Tenchi OVA with the tree costume, cartoon sword physics, and barely any mecha action, not to mention having to see the characters in rough early digital paint and the most baffling uses of CGI (really? CGI curtains and buildings?). I don't know how good the other OVAs are, but let's hope they have the amount of action and mundane steampunk details (like steampunk construction sites) that was in the first OVA.
I really love the trains in Sakura Wars; here are some clean artbook pages of them:

What are your thoughts on the 2000 TV series and the recent series based on the recent Project Sakura Wars game from 2019?

I haven't seen the 2019 series. The 2000 series was good, but nothing spectacular (it's mainly notable for being one of the last cel-animated mecha anime). The first OVA was amazing, though -- it was Gunbuster done right.

Been meaning to play those games ever since the first one on the Sega Saturn got a fan translation. Sega Saturn emulation has scared me off of it for the last couple years but now that I'm less retarded and Sega Saturn emulation works better now, I really should give those games a shot.
