All discussion of the candidates, updates and results should go here

For example- here's a video of Ted Cruz vying for world domination.

Also Hilary Clinton is a crook and nobody should have sex with her.

Discuss

The Ku Klux Klan and the Democratic Party have always been pretty tight. I had thought, however, that the two had grown apart over the years.
Well the KKK was founded by the Democrats and Hillary Clinton does have a history of being a racist piece of shit.
I honestly don't know why the hell black people are voting for Hillary, especially since the KKK has now endorsed Clinton as their candidate.

While the ties between the KKK and Democrats are real, they're more of a historical curiosity than anything. And on the other hand, there are some pretty solid reasons for black people not to vote for Republicans.

Lol

Well, looks like the KKK is now endorsing Hillary Clinton. And yes, there are multiple sources for this. This is actually fucking legit.
This kind of reminds me of the time a Democratic candidate dressed up as a Confederate Soldier to complain about how racist the Republicans were.

lolololol at this. The KKK you speak of is one mentally ill gutter trash punk from Cali.

"When The Telegraph pressed him on his past support of Trump, Quigg insisted that he only backed the business mogul before he knew about Clinton's "hidden agenda," which he says he learned from unnamed "sources." He also commented on former Klan leader David Duke's support of Donald Trump, saying, "David Duke, we found out, was supporting Donald Trump and we have nothing to do with David Duke.""

With 30 Tweets and 30 followers I'm sure this section of the KKK has a lot of national sway.

This is like when people taut that Trump likes Latino's because he has a few Latino voters.

Listen, I fucking loathe Hilary, but dumb people gather dumb people around them like a shit magnet.

Seriously?

Republicans have done a poor job of courting black voters but Hillary Clinton is a strong supporter of for profit prisons which have decimated the black community and ran an openly racist campaign against Barack Obama in 2008. It's pretty hard to justify the almost unanimous support from black voters to Hillary as anything other than ignorance.

All true, but the Republicans haven't just done a bad job of messaging. It's not like Republicans opposed the for profit prisons initiative.

As much as this is a very valid point simply saying bu bu but muh Republicans! over and over again is not a valid argument.

I'll ask again. Why should black people support Hillary Clinton when she has a very visible record of racism and actively opposes things that would help the black community?

Thing is that stuff like that typically aren't nearly overt enough for the casual observer to notice (especially lower income voters which comprises a lot of blacks demographically), and as such most of them just see the word democrat and blindly vote since it's basically tradition at this point. Also Obama being a democrat helps too obviously.

Meanwhile Trump (the presumptive republican nominee) is constantly making nigh-unavoidable headlines by saying dumb, vaguely racist shit.

Ah yes. I'd forgotten this is modern day America where saying insensitive things is considered worse than actually engaging in oppression.

The whole situation is a great argument for improved public schooling.

The question asked - of me, anyway - was why do black people not want to vote for Republians. Republican support for privatised prisons is a reason. (One of many). It's ironic that somebody inserted Hilary into the conversation that was originally about Republicans solely, and somebody else is now claiming that not discussing Hilary when answering the question is derailing.

I'm aware that there are plenty of good reasons black voters wouldn't support Hilary. (Also good reasons - or at least, understandable reasons - they wouldn't support Sanders). But the idea that Hilary is somehow the most anti-black mainstream candidate out there, or that black people can strike a blow against racism by voting for the Republican candidate in an election where Hilary is the candidate, is pants-on-head retarded.

But ultimately, if somebody honestly can't think for themselves of a single substantive reason for black people to dislike Republicans, I doubt anything I say is going to change that.

Trump hasn't engaged in oppression because he's never held political office. But he has promised to do things that are undeniably oppressive. (So has Cruz, and for that matter Kasich - although Kasich has an actual record too) Dismissing campaign promises made by a candidate for electoral office as just talk, and worries about them as the product of some sort of SJW/PC hypersensitivity, seems a basic misunderstanding of the electoral process.

Comparing hypothetical policies that Trump said in speeches to court redneck voters to shitty policies that Hillary and others have actually done in reality is intellectually dishonest at best.

When Trump gets elected and starts putting everyone with a complexion darker than milky white into camps then we can talk about how shitty he is otherwise it's hardly comparable.

When someone threatens to murder someone else that's bad but when they actually do kill someone it's clearly worse. What is so difficult to grasp about this concept?

i mean he has a point

hillary covers up sex assault to protect political power

trump insinuated a woman was on her period

but trump hurt my feelings so hes super-hitler
