This Miles looks lame in comparison to the utter cutie we got in Spiderverse.

Lowkey Spiderverse-Miles is very endearing and I will cut a bitch that says otherwise. I'd pick him over the official canon Miles any day.

Just hope Insomniac doesn't get forced by Sony to go all "hurr durr cops" when the previous game got shit on by dumbasses because it didn't portray the NYPD as Satan and didn't show their flaws, even though it's a fucking Spider-Man game. It especially wouldn't work with Miles because it'd go against his whole character, and the game continuity shit wouldn't work either, cause his character also exemplified those EXACT same traits of respect for his Father and his line of work. It'd be so obvious if such a thing were to actually occur that people would rightfully take issue with it. Other than that; I'm excited. I like Spider-Man quite a bit, and this incarnation of Miles is his second best, after Into the Spider-Verse's incarnation of the character.

the PS4 version of Spider-Man looked pretty good, even though I’m more of an Arkham Asylum and Ultimate Alliance guy.

if they can make his character look refreshing and intriguing and not just another “woke” black male, then yeah, it should be pretty interesting.

First game was pretty decent. As long as there are no more forced trial and error stealth segments I'm okay with it. They did a decent enough job setting Miles' story up in the first game and they have plenty of material to work with for him.

I'd still rather have a new Arkham/DC game, though. I'd heard rumors that Rocksteady had some DC property in the works and that WB Montreal was working on Arkham Legacy, but we'll see.

It was the greatest love letter to the spiderverse you could've gotten, and I hope they can live up to this movie.

Really what would be cool would be opening it to a bigger cast of the Spider Family. Silk was always fun if a bit goofy, and since they already do the costumes with the power ups you could have the different heroes reflect that. If anyone were to get a solo game though I'd pick Miles.

Does this mean we're getting a world without Parker too, or will he be in the background?

Who's ready for the two hour tutorial where miles explains how his father, a cop, quit the force and how the city is now being run without police.
Well duh, that's why they need spiderman.

I love it how the first thing you care about is some retarded blue check mark's opinion about some black guy fucking a white girl in a vidya game lmao
My mind was born and raised in the gutter.

I don't like the idea of only playing as Miles, he can be a part of it, he was already in the first PS4 game, but Peter Parker needs to be a playable part of it as well.

Spiderverse Miles is definitely better looking than the one in this trailer. I get that Spiderverse has a more cartoonish look that wouldn't mesh with the previous Spider-Man game, but they could've met halfway and gotten a better result than this.

The reason Spiderverse-Miles works, at least for me, is that he's fundamentally similar to Peter but VERY different from him in a lot of ways. He's a really sensitive kid that is impacted deeply by the people around him, often timid and unsure of himself. He can be goofy and cocky, but he's also very wide-eyed and innocent and anxious about his decisions. That's pretty neat for a superhero, especially since you don't usually see that in the portrayal of African American male characters. It really makes the audience care about him.

From what I've seen from other versions of the character, he's not like that at all. He strikes me as a stern, serious character which is kind of boring. I never got into the character before the film because it looked like he didn't have any major character qualities other than looking tough and being badass. Comic kiwis can correct me if I'm wrong.

They should have kept the more cartoony design from into the spiderverse, but I am hopeful for this game. The last Spiderman game was superb and if any company can make a good follow up it's insomniac.

I would love Miles to say "FUCK THE POLICE BLACK LIVES MATTER" Given who his dad was.

If his father retired between Spiderman 1 and 2..then there are other questions to be had, I know it is comic book IPs but..reviving him off screen would be an odd choice.
