For those who don't know, despite there being many villain Iron Man stories, this specific one was an actual What-If story. However, in that story it was a role-reversal. Basically, Victor von Doom became Iron Man, & Tony became Doom.

There is no actual Victor to make this casting choice somewhat intriguing, it just seems to done for shock value sake. Hell, I even have a feeling this is done to hype up Ironheart more.

This seems retarded and short-sighted to me. Doom is a character who can be used for a ton of stories but I doubt Robert Downey Jr is going to want to come back for a lot of movies, and anyone they later cast as the 'real' Victor von Doom is going to constantly be compared unfavorably to RDJ.

Just got home from D&W, it was a blast. Just stupid fun and the unexpected cameos blew me away.
Chris Evans as Johnny Storm instead of Steve Rogers was a fantastic gag, leading into all the other wild Fox Marvel cameos. Yeah the story was comparatively a little weak, but everything else was top notch imo. The fight choreography was very visceral and hilarious, I couldn't stop giggling all through the opening scene. The final fight scene with Wolverine *finally* donning the mask was worth the ticket price alone, and DP flubbing the dismount and immediately bemoaning it followed by all the other Deadpool's getting back up was an obvious but still great gag as well.

Honestly it was pretty much everything I hoped for. I'm not going to a Deadpool movie for Oscar cinema, I'm going because it's just a good time.
For what it is, I liked the film. It's Deadpool, what are you going to expect, really, 2008's The Dark Knight? It's full of cringy jokes but good action scenes and it seems like 'MEMBERBERRIES!' seem to be the new norm now so I'm numb to that anyways. It's probably going to be the final MCU flick I'm actually going to willingly watch in theaters. Post-Endgame the only ones I could tolerate were NWH, GOTG3, and now this. And ironically enough all four of those films were conclusions on their own right.

Endgame concluded the MCU, NWH concluded MCU Spider-Man and the older films, GOTG3 concluded it's own trilogy, and now this concludes the old Fox movies. After this I literally have no reason to watch another MCU film again.

Though I'm still salty that they pretty much pissed on the Fantastic 4 Duology. They weren't that bad, it was my childhood! *sigh*

I had a lot fun with 3. Not a perfect movie but it was a good ride and I enjoyed the performances

I will say I was a bit disappointed at the lack of
. Fantastic four stuff besides the obvious human torch joke

Otherwise I don't really have too many complaints. I actually really dug how creepy and insanely psycho the villain was. Her actor did a good job with the mannerisms and she just had this unreal lizard like look to her. I get that her motivations might be a bit odd to people unfamiliar with the comic character, but her whole deal is that she's crazy and gets off on being evil. I appreciated that they were able to make her character a lot more unique then just a shitty joker ripoff.

The wolverine mask was nice but it looked uneven. I really think they should have made his eyes visible. That probably was the uncanny valley and Im wondering why they didn't do that.

The big surprise in the movie for me was
Gambit. They actually played him straight and really went all in on the character. As a fan I was very pleased.

They didn't cuck Wade as much as I thought they would. Whole thing feels like a 10 min retirement. Although I'm a bit confused on his relationship with his girl because I thought she was preggers in 2 and they don't mention it at all.

Oh and it definitely felt like there's going to be a lot of extended scenes in the home release. There's also no scenes of cyclops or the other X-Men.

The Russos are coming back for Avengers 5 and Secret Wars.

Edit:
Avengers 5 is officially titled "AVENGERS DOOMSDAY". RDJ is back and he's playing Doom.
Nice. I knew they'd do that shit. RDJ is fully capable of legit pulling it off in my opinion. Lulling the audience in a false sense of security before moving in for the kill. He's done it before

I won’t spoil anything, but the way they “conclude” the Logan arch is kind of interesting, and depending on your bias you’ll either completely hate it or love it.

I loved it, Logan was a good movie but I didn't particularly like how dark and final the ending was. So Deadpool praising and shiting on it in equal measure was kinda amazing

I wish Disney would do this for Doom.

I liked Deadpool and Wolverine. But there's one big question I have
How did X23 end up in the void if that universe wasn't destroyed yet? Great to see the actor and character back. But why was X23 there? The in universe reason.

they went full retard. RDJ is a dude, playing a dude, disguised as another dude!

it will be like face/off and he will get RDJ's face implanted to cause havoc in the main MCU universe because he's Stark smart and could blend in, but Doom is like Marvel's final boss in comics why make him another guy? this is fucking GAY.
It seems like desperate stunt casting as they flail about to save their dying franchise.

yeah it seems like there should be somebody who stunt casting RDJ would work better for, like, "Faceswappio" or some other obscure character who does this shit
dunno how he is with Generic Eastern Europe Accent but if he wasn't quite as old Ron Pearlman might not be bad for DOOM, maybe Idris Elba

but yeah throwing RDJ onto DOOM is sort of a waste of both the actor and the character

So they really are just dropping Kang the Wifebeater? All those years of (shitty) buildup amounted to nothing then. Should've planned things out better and gone with Doom from the very beginning.

I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand I like that Doctor Doom is coming, on the other as a fan of Kang from the comics I'm disappointed Marvel decided to drop Kang and seems to be trying to pretend he never mattered the first place.

I'm actually super confused by this. Jonathan Majors was neither an especially good actor no was he especially distinctive looking.

He looked like every third black guy on the street. You could have easily swapped the actor without anyone noticing.

Ya I'd like to know this as well, I started thinking about it after getting out of the movie.

Channing Tatum looked like the costume was a little too small especially around his face, but I really liked his part in the movie. Especially enjoyed the final fight with his charged cards and bo staff.

I hated the last two Deadpool films for being pure ego projects of Ryan Reynolds on par with The Rock's Black Adam. But my wife forced me to go see Deadpool and Wolverine. It's like they took every last thing I hated about the previous two films, the puerile humour, the homosexuality, the narcissism and ego of the lead, and turned it all to eleven thinking they could get away with it because Wolverine is in it and he actually has a nicely made comic accurate suit this time. I feel like I just watched a big budget version of Tariq's Buck Breaking documentary in the sense that it was clearly a way to cope with some internal battle over Ryan's repressed faggotry.

Blade was fuckin sick though. It was nice to see him. I hope he comes back for Secret War alongside Toby's Spider Man and Hugh's Wolverine. That would so fucking cool. I just want this to be real for a moment. Because I always headcanoned that Maguire's Spider-Man, Affleck's Daredevil, Bana's Hulk, the F4, Blade, and the X-men were all in the same universe.

Those movies had lots of problems (especially Rise of the Silver Surfer ... The Galactus reveal was the lamest thing ever lol), however, I don't hate them? The cast actually had good chemistry with each other, which is pretty essential for a Fantastic Four movie. Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis were especially good. That was definitely a case where the main cast kinda carried those movies.

The Roger Corman Fantastic Four movie, the one that never technically got released and wasn't supposed to be seen by the public, is still by far the best Fantastic Four movie to date though. lol. Also the best version of Doctor Doom that we've seen so far.

yeah considering how much of those movies was ass and poo, they really did a solid job with their personal interactions

Deadpool & Wolverine was fairly meh. It's crack cocaine for fanboys, more than it's anything else, Just like No Way Home, and The Flash.

The humor got really tired. Occasionally something clever is said, but most of it is dick jokes, and fight scenes set to incongruous pop songs.

Doesn't RDJ get more expensive to hire with every Marvel movie he stars in? Surely the Disney war chest can't be that deep.

I like that The Thing was an actual costume instead of some cgi monstrosity that would've aged like milk. Sure it was goofy but it also had some charm to it.
