Aside from the fact I doubt he has never gloated over failure before or after (particularly involving political opposition), does he not understand this is the only way for things people don't like to change? Actually scratch that, he knows. Artists today are just total pussys and will never call out anyone for making shit art because they may hurt some feelings and lose connections (although King is well established and doesn't need any connections). Even Kojima despite making it real obvious with his posts can't even find the guts to say he thought The Marvels sucked. I wish artists called each other out like this nowadays.

Eh, might just be the Japanese politeness, but that's the way he says he didn't like a movie.
If he likes a movie, he'll comment on whatever aspects he found noteworthy.
But for Captain Marvel? "Saw Captain Marvel".
And for The Marvels? "Saw The Marvels".
 
We might've missed it because we've been laughing at the Marvels bombing harder than Hiroshima, or I just didn't dig back far enough in he thread, but it seems Hiddleston is done.

Considering Loki is one of the characters people actually liked, this bodes ill. Not for us, the train wreck is funny, but still.
 
I mean that's not Hiddleston explicitly saying he's done (the way RDJ and others have). But even if he was, they already set up chick Loki, which is what they want anyway, since they can pay her in tampons or whatever and still use the character.

I mean, the show's built like it's trying to close the book on Loki's story so Sylvie can take over so I'm not surprised. I definitely prefer they don't touch him anymore, they already hurt his character enough by making him simp for his twin.
 
Sylvie doesn't strike me as Loki's replacement, she's too different in terms of character. Tom'll be back for the next Avengers movies for reasons obvious to anyone who's see the series finale of Loki.
 
The media is finally admitting that the Marvel brand is in flames, not only because of this most recent misfire, but the past few years worth of constant misfires. The main problem though was the turnover from the well-known and liked superheroes to C- and D-list characters. The Eternals, Shang Chi, Moon Knight (and I say this as someone who enjoyed various issues of the 70s Master of Kung Fu run and the 80s Moon Knight) are not characters who have the same cachet and recognizability of a Spiderman or Iron Man, or the Hulk, and while that was a handicap to overcome, it didn't help that the execution was consistently poor.
 
If only there was some warning sign that this wouldn't do well!

Well silver lining, they'll stop pushing those real quick after this flopped. Granted, Marvel Comics is one foot in the grave already, so the company won't long survive this lesson.

Most of the TV shit has been pretty bad. Even worse for expecting people to watch or give a dam about them
 
The Damage Control is in full swing - I’m getting sponsored post after sponsored post talking about how good The Marvels actually is, and seeing the same 3 Comments repeated on every single one of them. If only they put this kind of effort into making a movie that doesn’t suck ass.

…Y’know what? I’d watch a Damage Control limited series. Something small to actually flesh out the MCU, only they’d probably still find a way to fuck it up…
