One of the things people who read comics liked about Into The Spider-Verse & Miles Morales was that if you're not a consooming shill, you'd know that Spider-Verse kinda sucked as an arc in the comics, & that Miles has literally never been good as a character before this movie. Mind you, that still applied to the confines of the movie, cause he still sucked as a character in the comics, by either being shit, or just plain boring. Hell, Marvel's only "marketing" towards him & his comics is using him to shill BLM &/or Latinx shit, by conveniently forgetting (ignoring) that he's only 50% of either, neither a full nog, nor a mutt, but the mystery meat mixture.congrats friends we are about to see it in current era the replacement of white spider man to Mile Morales the black one.

The problem is comics were already an out-dated and dying form of regional media long before any of this dumb movie bullshit.The problem with Disney Marvel shit is that they're running into the DBZ problem. You can't up the stakes anymore (I really hated Thanos because Marvel basically agrees with him and not that he's fucking insane), Thanos killed half of existence. You'd need to have characters react to how weird that is and how it would change the world that there is literally a magic device that can grant wishes. You need to do smaller character arcs that get the characters off the high of the previous arc.
You'd to focus on characters doing their own thing. The Captain Falcon series was shit because it shouldn't really of been Sam bitching about being passed up, but trying to put his life in order and being dragged into a mystery with Bucky. New Cap failing to live up to the expectations or breaking under the pressure should've been a B plot.
The Scarlet Witch series suffered a similar problem where the writers couldn't actually write a character arc that made sense.
I should also say I really didn't watch these. I liked comics in the early 2000's and then stopped after Spider-Man sold his soul to the devil, along with Anglo writers and fat Jewish fanboys writing their BBC fantasies. I mostly just talked about them with my brother or sister and watched clips they showed me.

(1) No comic magazine shall use the word horror or terror in its title.
(2) All scenes of horror, excessive bloodshed, gory or gruesome crimes, depravity, lust, sadism, masochism shall not be permitted.
(3) All lurid, unsavory, gruesome illustrations shall be eliminated.
(4) Inclusion of stories dealing with evil shall be used or shall be published only where the intent is to illustrate a moral issue and in no case shall evil be presented alluringly, nor so as to injure the sensibilities of the reader.
(5) Scenes dealing with, or instruments associated with walking dead, torture, vampires and vampirism, ghouls, cannibalism, and werewolfism are prohibited.
General standards—Part C
All elements or techniques not specifically mentioned herein, but which are contrary to the spirit and intent of the code, and are considered violations of good taste or decency, shall be prohibited. Dialogue
(1) Profanity, obscenity, smut, vulgarity, or words or symbols which have acquired undesirable meanings are forbidden.
(2) Special precautions to avoid references to physical afflictions or deformities shall be taken.
(3) Although slang and colloquialisms are acceptable, excessive use should be discouraged and, wherever possible, good grammar shall be employed.
Religion
(1) Ridicule or attack on any religious or racial group is never permissible.
Costume
(1) Nudity in any form is prohibited, as is indecent or undue exposure.
(2) Suggestive and salacious illustration or suggestive posture is unacceptable.
(3) All characters shall be depicted in dress reasonably acceptable to society.
(4) Females shall be drawn realistically without exaggeration of any physical qualities. NOTE.—It should be recognized that all prohibitions dealing with costume, dialog, or artwork applies as specifically to the cover of a comic magazine as they do to the contents.
Marriage and sex
(1) Divorce shall not be treated humorously nor represented as desirable.
(2) Illicit sex relations are neither to be hinted at nor portrayed. Violent love scenes as well as sexual abnormalities are unacceptable.
(3) Respect for parents, the moral code, and for honorable behavior shall be fostered. A sympathetic understanding of the problems of love is not a license for morbid distortion.
(4) The treatment of live-romance stories shall emphasize the value of the home and the sanctity of marriage.
(5) Passion or romantic interest shall never be treated in such a way as to stimulate the lower and baser emotions.
(6) Seduction and rape shall never be shown or suggested.
(7) Sex perversion or any inference to same is strictly forbidden.
CODE FOR ADVERTISING MATTER
These regulations are applicable to all magazines published by members of the Comics Magazine Association of America, Inc. Good taste shall be the guiding principle in the acceptance of advertising.
(1) Liquor and tobacco advertising is not acceptable.
(2) Advertisement of sex or sex instruction books are unacceptable.
(3) The sale of picture postcards, “pinups,” “art studies,” or any other reproduction of nude or seminude figures is prohibited.
(4) Advertising for the sale of knives or realistic gun facsimiles is prohibited.
(5) Advertising for the sale of fireworks is prohibited.

Whether you like it or not, superhero comics centered around universes are a uniquely American form of entertainment that cannot survive global competition (the comics themselves, not the movies, but the movies now). It was dying 20 years ago, and it barely had any shelf space at book stores back then. Manga has long killed off comics. The best comics I read were single runs of non-repeating stories, of superheroes that had several hundred issues and were closed. And that's it. Because a story needs to end. Stories are not meant to be stagnant. And American comics loves itself some fucking stagnation, holy shit. And the best writers in the genre understand this. Stories and characters need to end.
There's no rhyme or reason to them, and now, there's no real material left to mine. You're just constantly re-hashing in one singular genre, over and over and over again. You are going to fail and run out of material. In comics, nothing ever ends. These stories aren't complex. They're shallow. Sure, the Infinity War and the multiverse and some shit have happened multiple times, but none of them were good enough to justify a retelling. That's what comics do to sell themselves, and they've been only surviving through Disney as a result. OH NO MISS MARVEL GOT STABBED TO DEATH. Yeah, who gives a fuck? Its a guarantee that she'll come back. Comics are so devoid of creativity that even Bucky came back to fucking life because the entire medium is out of fucking things to do. And Bucky being the only one who stayed dead was a meme for decades and basically the one thing people could point to that could somehow justify this. It was a meme for decades and in their desperation they decided to forgo that.
Comics were killed by the Comic Code Authority and didn't die fast enough, because comics were set up to survive only in that environment. Once that environment was no longer present, comics never course corrected or adapted. Also the fact is, most creators of comic characters are dead or retired and the people writing them have no stake in the character that they may as well be different characters.
So now, you have the identical problem with comic book movies. There's nothing to mine here. These stories are done. You cannot keep making this shit forever, it doesn't fucking work. They're going to try with the Fantastic Four and then the X-Men, but again, then you have to cycle back and restart again. For all eternity. This doesn't work. And even with X-Men and FF, what are you going to do? You going to build your universe again over the course of a decade with a genre that was already dead on its way out? Good luck with that. The best movie plots are comic book plots that are so old they are old enough to fucking drink now. And once you exhaust those plots, fucking lol, have fun.

The only MCU movie I was remotely interested in seeing was GotG3, then it came out and I just...didn't go. My apathy for this corporate monstrosity is so great that I simply couldn't be bothered to go to the theater and watch the only movie likely to have any sort of creativity in it. Well, aside from maybe Deadpool 3, but I'm not going to see it if it doesn't have an R rating, and knowing Disney, they very well might meddle to make it PG-13 and completely miss the point of why people liked the Deadpool movies.

There are no new stories left to tell in these sprawling multiverses, spinning around in circles for decades because the status quo can never truly change. Disney wants to keep the gravy train chugging along, but they're never going to recapture that lightning in a bottle, no matter how many other capeshit projects they tangle into its grotesque web.
Is it any wonder that Watchmen is still regarded as one of the greatest comic books of all time? Only twelve issues long; a self-contained story with a clear beginning, middle, and end; interesting and well-written characters; a layered plot that raises questions for the reader to answer; and truly beautiful artwork that takes advantage of the medium. It stands the test of time because it wasn't part of some gigantic crossover you needed to read a dozen other series to get the full plot of. (Yes, I know about Doomsday Clock and other Watchmen projects that ruin this legacy somewhat, but I choose to ignore their existence.)
The MCU is nowhere close to the same level of craft as Watchmen, but Disney could have ended it after Endgame and kept its legacy intact, finishing on a high note. Instead, they're beating this dead horse into a pulp and tarnishing its image one flop at a time. Frankly, it couldn't have happened to a worse entertainment company, and I will enjoy watching the Rat squirm.

The thing is this: At least Watchmen is consistent. It has one author and one artist. You can say a lot about Alan Moore, but his books are tonally, visually and thematically consistent, wheter one issue or one hundred. They're not hampered by the colorist changing, the artist changing, the author changing, editorial coming in and fucking around with it. It is because it is singularly unified in a vision that is extraordinarily rare for American comics and honestly, why American comics are obsolete: They're corporate art, deal a corporate message and are interchangeable. That's what defines the best works in Western comics: Singular authors and artists. Things comicbook fans regard as good are usually a prototype for another genre and smashed to fit the mold. It's good because it's different, not because it's actually good. Watchman is basically Alan Moore doing a crime drama where a rogue capitalist tries to avert prevent WW3 because he's smart, a crazy guy has his own morals that he is willing to see through, and a massive cuck falls down before the new world order.
Moore had good artists and for the most part is able to not let his own morality and world view infect characters, sometimes. He's one of those writers I don't get the hype for him because he seemed to just like old myths and be British Commie (Angl*'s make me vomit and wish Arthur would come back from Avalon and kill them already).
Everything I read from him as either been a thinly veiled political dump, a halfway decent concept ruined by his writing, or just edgy shit that you'd like if you were a teenager.
To be honest, that's really the only way. There are still newsprint comics out there. Oh and absolutely, the 'Diamond Catalogue' which is where shops order issues from. It is functionally a monopoly.The only real hope for Western comics is unironically a return to small regional shit that you can buy by the bundle. Get fifteen ten-paged stories of various genres in the same thing using cheap paper. However, from what I am aware there is an unironic monopoly that basically kills any attempt at this. @Secret Asshole I am a bit of a weeb on Jap shit because Jap's have a wealth of genres and they'll have autistic shit like someone writing about fantasy from the perspective of a letter courier or a black smith and will actually go autistically in detail on the research they did. They'll have cooking manga about hunting in rural Japan, series taking space travel to the mundane extreme and fantastical extreme, and true crime stuff.
The biggest thing is that a lot of Jap writers seem to actually want to entertain their readers and don't naval gaze like British faggots who need to be skinned alive.
Superheroes don't even need to be for kids. Superhero can just be one genre of many. But the problem is like I said, they're not allowed to have any vision, authorial intent, latitude. Nowadays comics are in limbo - They are entirely built on objective ideas of good and evil, but the authors don't believe in those concepts, if not actively go against them. They want to tell big stories but aren't allowed to make any changes.
Hopefully the entire industry dies down, but the entire western entertainment is astroturfed and full of gay and nigger worship.
