Trailer for The Marvels drops tomorrow. I'm sure the three people who are hyped for this are shaking with excitement right now.
At this point, the only way I’d personally care about Captain Marvel is that when Disney inevitably Frankenstein’s the X-Men into the MCU, they continue the tradition of Rogue just absolutely bodying the Captain. They probably won’t, but I’d probably pirate it to watch if they did.

While Kamala looks to be fun and the actor has the most charisma of the three leads, I doubt she can carry the black voids of charisma the other two "Marvels" have.
Monica seems slightly less wooden than her other appearances, but if the leaks are true she's going to be lumped with another Wandavision-tier line that makes her look like a bitch. I feel bad for the actress.

Going by past MCU storybeats, if the villain is a woman, it'll turn out she was manipulated by a man the entire time.
Nah it depends on how she looks:
* Blonde White woman - Evil person who deserves whatever will happen to her, up to being raped and killed.
* Non blonde White woman - Semi responsible but still manipulated by a man. Will face consequences but the audience will be manipulated to feel bad for her.
* Anyone else - Manipulated by a man and thus not responsible to anything she did no matter how horrific it is and how she had the capacity to stop at multiple times.

The leaks aren't making me hopeful, but that's not a bad trailer. I'll wait for the reviews all the same.

You're hopeful for Captain Marvel Two with Muslim Hannah Montana?

Iman Vellani carried the Ms. Marvel show and it looks like she'll be doing the same for The Marvels.

What am I missing here? I mean, I never thought the problem was the actresses. Brie Larson is just a meat puppet. Give her a good script and she's fine.

What makes anyone here like these characters???

Is there...I like Carol Danvers. Carol Danvers is an actually great Chris Claremont character that I would love to see.

This...thing, is not Carol Danvers. It is a caricature of what weak white women think an actually strong woman is.

Am I alone here? Do people think that actual fans of this historic character want these movies to be bad?

I think we can already write The Marvels off as a failure. So the only film this year that could top is Guardians however it is on conditions.
a) cope
b) people going and not seeing it stream instead. The streaming factor changes a lot and it comes out in a period where in a lot of countries like Europe where younger people are revising.

They should have done a summer release for this film, May is a shit period. I looked at their next year and it looks like a mess with only one possible release being Captain America: New World Order.

We know nothing about Thunderbolts and nothing set-wise yet when it should have begun filming and should nearly be done. Blade might not see release because the film has had a lot of departures and 2 major rewrites. The first was literally Blades's daughter being the hybrid like in Underworld. The second script Ali hated, in fact, he hated both as the second had 2 action scenes.

Cap New Order will bomb really hard, the synopsis is pretty much - no one accepts black superheroes. Nigga Blade was killing cracker vampires in 1998. If Blade was unsuccessful then we would not even have the hero genre we have now. It sounds ultra-political and just awful.

Disney must be shitting itself because we have had 5 things in a row bomb and Guardians could bomb. Bare in mind Guardians 2 only grossed 838 million which is far lower than I thought and considering new costs including marketing Guardians 3 will probably be about 350 million.

Article found today https://insidethemagic.net/2023/04/...x-marvels-streak-of-bad-box-office-luck-aml1/

According to Box Office Pro, Vol. 3 is projected to take home between $120-$155 million domestically in its opening weekend and $288-$403 by the end of its theatrical run. Comparatively, the first Guardians installment made roughly $333.7 million by the end of its run, and the second totaled around $389 million.

It's out.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=iuk77TjvfmEI don't understand why they call it the teaser trailer. It's practically a normal trailer.

Also, I'm feeling the opposite of this meme. As in I dislike this & have a bit of jungle fever.

The premise doesn't look bad, but my God the MCU chuds will go apeshit when they see Brie.

I don't think I'll watch any further MCU movie at the theater after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3, I'll follow James Gunn over to DC after that.

That Secret Invasion TV show, while it has nothing to do with the comic book (to be expected), I was going to watch it regardless hoping that Emilia Clarke was going to play Abigail Brand but nope, she's just a Skrull apparently.

Deadpool 3 being an MCU movie seems to be an indicator of that.

Fundamentally the MCU is screwed because (and I'm not sure if I read it here) is they're recycling all the gimmick storylines and multiverse snarls that helped cause Marvel's implosion in the first place, and like with Marvel in the 1990s, they'll stop caring and move on.
