That is along the lines what I'm thinking too. I as well watched the movie yesterday and I couldn't see the point in it at all.
With WandaVision I could understand Wanda's pain with the kids, even if they weren't real and there was at least some manner of redemption at the end of it. Here they just threw it all out the window and made her go full villain, in the worst way possible. I still stand by the fact they should have stuck to the House of M storyline.
I didn't saw Wandavision and the fact that the movies relies so heavily on the plot of a tv show is a sign that the MCU wants to go all streaming. I still believe there is a massive plothole in the whole Multiverse, like the same plothole in Rick and Morty that if there are infinite universe nothing really matters. Wanda could have tried to find a multiverse with an alive visio instead of trying to snatch kids from her other self or something. I don't know, it was weird and dumb.
Why did Chavez needed to have two mothers? Would it have changed the tone of the narrative if it was just two regular parents? It feels like an afterthought so they can please some morons in their fanbase.
In one of the final scene Strange tell America (stupid fucking name) "I hope you get reunited with your parents", which makes me believe the whole lesbian couple was put in post-production: because A- when she said "madres" is clearly ADR. B- she gives a flower to one of the moms and the other seem like happy but not interacting with anyone, clearly inserted in post C- Strange could have said "Hope you find your Moms" but no, he said "Parents", implying neutrality in gender. D-Woke Disney.

I'm sure they shoehorned the lesbians for woke points.
The cameos were so badly used. Having Haylay Atwell back in the MCU, this time as Captain Carter, and she just gets obliterated after a few seconds. The best part of all this was to hear the little X-Men tune playing when Professor X arrived. Other then that it was just a total waste of time, which can be said about most of the movie.
Reed Richards, smartest guy in the multiverse, confronts a Witch with just elastic powers. Are you retarded?

He was retarded. Cool suit though. John Krasinsky is a good fit for Reed Richards.

Black Captain Marvel? Don't care.

Women Captain America? Don't care

Blackbolt? Who? Don't care

Professor X rolling in like a motorized yellow casket with the dumb 90' X Men jingle on the backgroung? Fucking Cringe and like always showing Patrick Stuart being useless and dying like a bitch.

Whole scene was cringe and retarded.
The CGI was weird as hell too. At times completely up to the standards of today, and then there times where the humans looked like something out of the Matrix Reloaded era.
Yeah! There were some times when even the frame rate of some animations looked wonky af. The CGI was really bad and bloated in some areas, like there was too much CGI or greenscreen so the rendering had to blur a lot of stuff and it made a lot of scenes really confusing. Plus Sam Reimy isn't a director who knows how to direct CGI and lots of fighting was stilted or had very little movement, the movement it had didn't came from the characters but the camera work. It was bad.
I remember seeing Tony Stark getting suited up in the Mark III suit and thinking, shit this is fantastic. Those were the days I would actually fork over money for a cinema ticket at least. I don't see a clear way forward for the MCU at this point, it just feels like some random movies and series just for the sake of getting those characters in there, without any clear direction.
Yeah, that was a great movie. Iron Man 1 still holds up in my opinion because it didn't went all capeshit fantastic magical shit on the viewer and focused on Tony Stark instead of *Generic World ending event*.

I don't know. Dr Strange is a cuck and a bad movie.

It was probably there from the beginning, but strategically written so that the “mothers” are only mentioned once, to make it easier to cut out for Saudi Arabia et al.

It's not even a liberal thing though. It's Sony's continued desperation to make every villain movie into their own weird superhero franchise by turning all villains into anti-heroes. This is despite the fact that people genuinely would be fine with villain movies that have villains do horrible things, but Sony is afraid to take that risk.
It's like Sony is doing the opposite of the stand-alone Joker film. Yes, he was a victim of abuse and society but in the end he chose to kill without remorse and became a monster. That seems to be one of the few DC villains that remains consistent as some of their top female villains (Harley, Ivy, and Catwoman) are now in the anti-hero role.

I see there are points where we agree, and points where we don't. Awesome, keeps things interesting.

To be fair, the MCU always had shows running alongside it, at least for some time. But never to this extent. There was a time where an Agent of Shield episode would continue after a movie, but that was sporadic and I believe eventually they stopped doing that. I couldn't say because after a few episodes in the second seasons I stopped watching that all together. I surprised myself for sticking it out that long.

I think the smart thing they did with the Netflix Marvel stuff was that you could watch it all and get the entire thing, or you could watch only Daredevil or only Jessica Jones and walk away without feeling like you missed anything. I think the only time you couldn't do that was The Defenders because well, it's Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Jessica Jones together. I miss those days.

I feel like in the grand scheme of things the shows are a good idea and will likely not actually be required viewing going forward, all things considered. Doctor Strange 2 aside, I think they're going to take the place of origin movies for like 80% of the characters going forward, and when they show up in movies you'll get like the movie equivalent of "See issue #whatever of (insert comic here) annotations when they show up in movies. Not every character is going to be able to pull off the Black Widow/Hawkeye "just pop them in wherever, people will figure out what their deal is" when you wanna work in a Moon Knight, and shit like Eternals would have clearly worked better with the breathing room of a show than it got with the feature length it got.

WandaVision to DS2, sure, I get that. But then you're gonna have Falcon America show up in his next movie, and I feel like a normie isn't going to had to have watched FatWS to understand why he's a flying Power Ranger now; Cap gave him the shield and "made him Captain America" and you can just sort of work your way from what you saw in Endgame. The show was supplimental.

fwiw the character of Chavez "always" (not in her debut but since her very bad solo) had dyke parents and it was more or less implied her entire dimension ate carpet. Say what you will about the source material, but MoM stuck to it almost directly in that regard.

Decided to check out MoM today (since I'm cheap and waiting is always an option if you're not sure about something). Despite the script being mostly exposition (which was probably re-written a few times and it shows) I actually liked it. It's not going to win any best MCU film awards or anything, but it's an improvement over the first film and Raimi's direction made it engaging to watch from beginning to end which not every Marvel film manages. Action was pretty good too. Chavez was decent enough and fairly likable, but more of a plot device than a character so I hope they improve on her in future projects.

Wanda basically stole the show IMO.

Did we watched the same movie or you saw a better film than me? The action was stilted, the characters were bland, Strange was a cuck and Chavez was annoying, the story is shit with thousands of plotholes, the CGI was crap you can literally see the blur and the frame drops in some scenes.

The movie was shit dude, like really really shit.

And? People are allowed to like different things than you, no need to shit on their opinions because you hate the thing they thought was decent.

Tbh, the entire movie is Wanda Vision season finale

Isn't it odd that the only people complaining that you need to watch WandaVision to understand Strange MoM are the people who watched WandaVision? Its almost as if the autistic nerds who consume everything Marvel are just pissy because they misread WandaVision as Wanda getting over her grief instead of it being the catalyst for the events of Strange MoM.

Not really, because a lot of those same people thought WandaVision ended with Black Marvel absolving her of any wrongdoing and getting mad about it. Far be it for me to underestimate the cerebral workload of the MCU, but it's shocking how often people misinterpret these retardedly simplistic stories.

Why is Wanda suddenly evil and killing people? Assume the last time you saw her was infinity war. It's a massive character leap from her last cinema appearance.

There's not another way for a reasonable person to interpret that last scene with her, simp.

This is how we get to clown world. It wasn't a shit movie. It also wasn't good. It was a well made film with a cookie cutter plot haphazardly remembered in between member berries.

I don't give a fuck about any of this. All I care about is the movie itself. I should be able to enjoy it without needing to read a short novella on fucking everything.

Oh, good to note Ms. Marvel has some of the worst viewership for a Marvel property (CW numbers) despite being rating sperg'd by MCU zombies/Disney cucks.

That's not what I said, but yeah, read more into my comment about a dumb Marvel movie that doesn't even have a politcal statement. Never mind the person I replied to acted as if their opinion was objective fact.

Read more? Since your playing as if I'm being unfair, let's look at the statement...

I...don't care about politics

People are allowed to like different things than you

You can like lots of weird, horrible things. I myself have a tendency to like truly, unintentionally awful cringe. The worst the better. But I'd never defend Multiverse of Madness as 'good' or attempt to insult the intelligence of people like others have because they disagreed.

Dr. Strange 2 is mediocre. It's poorly written, well made schlock and as long as that's what you care about; that it looks cool that's fine. But be consistent. You could say the same for Star Wars, the DCU, and other fare.

no need to shit on their opinions because you hate the thing they thought was decent.

And here we have the crux of my issue. They are giving their opinion that the MCU and MoM was bad. Why does that seem to...for lack of a better word....trigger some? Could it be that they enjoyed MoM? That when ancient mummy Patrick Stewart shambled out on screen for...five minutes? Could it be that they loved that? But that deep inside that person knew it was cringe?

That's the reason for this bizarre double standard. That deep down, most of you know MoM was as sloppy and incoherent a mess as Thor 2 or the other Iron Man movies. But it referenced things that were good, like X-men. 'Member X-men? I member X-men.

But as long as people gobble up mediocre (MoM; NWH) to terrible (Eternals; WandaVision) we aren't ever going to get another X-Men, Spider-man, or the truly amazing films that we had before the MCU. Don't lower your standards people, you deserve better!

Doctor Strange 2 felt like Sam Rami trying his hardest against a script made just to set up other movies/tv shows rather than tells it's own story. Are many good moments in it but as a whole rather meh.

Some other point
All the child actors are bad and that is including America Chavez
America Chavez is far better in this than the comics but still isn't good and really could just been replaced with an magical item at the end of the day with it not matter much outside giving other character more screen time to flesh them out.
Elizabeth Olsen is on point in the movie and hams it up to the right amount
Bruce Campbell cameo was funny and more engaging then the whole illuminati
It still has the marvel thing where character rarely look like they are part of their environments and really poor cgi blending,
For a movie called the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it really doesn't do much with the multiverse or it's madness

This was a show on Disney Wish Cruise, it was pretty much a 13-minute Avengers movie. This team includes Ant-man, Wasp, Cap Falcon, Ms. Marvel, and Captain Marvel:

'Fan favourite' Ms Marvel is doing as well as anyone acquainted even slightly with her shit comic books would expect.

Stop trying to force this shit you lunatics, no-one wants to see this bitch.

See, there are basically three schools of thought about what you really need to watch to understand Doctor Strange 2

1) At minimum, read at least 1,500 Fantastic Four comics and watch all 23 seasons of The Office plus The Inhumans so you can care when the thing gets referenced.

2) You don't need to watch anything first to understand this movie, in fact feel free to walk in halfway through, because the characters narrate everything that happens and the whole plot is "good guys must stop bad guys".

3) No one can ever understand this movie. Even if you study every piece of media that has ever existed, you will never know why an omnipotent witch can't find a fertility clinic, or why there's an alternate dimension occupied by bilingual latina space lesbians, or why the witch doesn't ask the space lesbians to recommend a good fertility clinic, since they apparently have sperm donors with godlike reality-shattering superpowers. Somebody who goes in cold without watching Wandavision might assume there's a perfectly good explanation for why Vision never shows up. If you're all up to speed, it actually makes less sense.
