Yeah, but she did sort of replace Dr. Strange in his own movie like I said. Don't get me wrong here, she is WAY better than in the comics but that is not exactly hard to pull off.
she really didn't; for half the movie Chavez is running, for the other half she's captured.

the majority of the movie is either Strange trying to figure a way out of their current predicament or Wanda being a homicidal maniac

Thor 4 is looking to replace Thor with lady Thor basically doing what all stage 4 has been doing by marketing the traditional white male hero people want and just replacing them with a mary sue POC in their own movie, the new Spider man trilogy is probably not going to have a white male lead with a "diverse" variant of one of the established comic book spider men, and Marvel is fine just race swapping all lesser known White male superheroes they have not already used.

Yeah, they are drowning in the diversity pool.

MoM ends with Strange becoming a stronger Strange while Chavez is left in training land until they do "Young Avengers", and the stinger is his canonical white wife showing up and recruiting him for a mission. And I'll bet you actual money Thor 4 does not end with a Foster Thor being left in charge.

Ms Marvel is super cringe.

ON PURPOSE
I just watched the first episode. I genuinely liked it. Like someone stated earlier in the thread, the girl who plays Kamala is very charismatic and believable, and so is the kid that plays her best friend, Bruno. They've got good chemistry and are written to sound and act like actual teenagers. Kamala is appropriately dorky for a 16 year old superhero nerd but it never feels twee or annoying. Honestly, I saw a lot of ADHD-riddled teenage me in her and a lot of my loved ones in her family and friends, and I could relate to a lot of the things she did in the episode like being scolded for being a bit too much of a dreamer and getting distracted, as well as the experience of being dragged along on shopping trips with mom and listening in on her gossiping with the aunties and getting sideways looks when I added my own contradictory opinion lmfao.

Her being Muslim is prominent in the episode since a big part of her storyline is trying to balance what's expected of her as a woman of her faith and what she wants as a modern American teenager gunning to be a hero, but it feels pretty natural (never overbearing) and it's not any of the Muslim characters' sole personality trait. They're just characters who happen to be Muslim, yanno? Reminds me of how Nightcrawler in the comics (at least, the older comics) was written- he's Catholic, devoutly so, but it's not his sole character trait and adds depth to his character instead of just being a box to check off. Her parents seem relatively in-line with how regular, religiously active but non-fundie Muslim-Americans are from what I can tell. They're somewhat strict, since they disapprove of her wearing a Captain Marvel costume since it's skintight on her legs, but that's not really different than what somewhat strict Christian parents would be like tbh. Even if they're a bit strict they're charming and have their dorky moments and clearly love Kamala a lot.

In general it was a good pilot with good colors and cinematography, and the little doodles in the environment and imagine spots are cute and add to Kamala's head in the clouds nature. My one complaint with the episode is that the whole bit of her finding her powers is kind of awkward and rushed. I liked what happened in the comics a lot more, though I get that since her powerset is totally different they had to change it up a bit. Still, though, it was a pretty good first episode and the most fun I've had with a Marvel property in a good while.

Yeah I got around to watching it earlier too, kind of tepid towards it. Loved the animation and when Kamala isn't being a little autist, she's delightful. Problem being most of the show involves her being a turbo autist. Can't say I'm particularly frustrated with "muh stretch powers" at this point, but a lot of shit in the books has been changed here for, as far as I can tell, no real reason. "Avengerscon" is gay, the tweaks to Zoe are lame and will surely make her eventual heel/face turn less impactful. The dad fucking rules though.

Not bad, will almost certainly be a hit, but I can't see watching much more of it. Will likely read synopsis of the next few episodes and see if it improves any, but all I watched was a very competently made kids show.

oh and also I don't understand why she wears a necklace "with my name in Arabic" when at no point, in any depiction, is she shown having any Arab family. She's 100% Paki. No clue why they did that and it stood out as particularly stupid.

What's weird is, Kamala isn't even a Urdu name, it's nowhere near Muslims. It's somewhere between Bengali & Bangladeshi.

Consoomers will coom over the most basic things just because it's the MCU. Like I get that it's a cool technique but I doubt this guy would be raving over it if it wasn't used in Ms Marvel. Also god forbid fans be annoyed they'd fucked up her powers.
Are there people on Twitter who just like things for what they are in the MCU (a few hours of entertainment here and there)? Rather then caking their panties in jizz over everything the Marvel machine churns out? Don't get me wrong, I have had some great times watching these things the past decade, but why are so many people on social media kidding themselves that 80 % of the MCU these days is just an incoherent mess with no real sense or purpose?

Ms. Marvel. It was really good. I enjoyed it a lot. I'm a sucker for a good visual design and creativity. The moving graffiti narrating her ideas as she and Bruno cycled through the city was great. The way they worked in the text messages into the neon shop signs. The main actress is very good as are her family and Bruno's actor is alright. No weak links so far. Heck, I even like the music choices. The "Avengercon" was pretty funny and believable. The opening puppet show for her website was cool. Basically I liked this from start to finish.

I never watched Hawkeye. I made it about four episodes into Wandavision and three into Moonknight. The last MCU movies I've trudged through and maybe if they'd let Sam Raimi go full Sam Raimi with DS:2 I'd have enjoyed it more but this...? This I like. I hope it lives up to its potential.

It could have actually been good if Marvel/Disney had an ounce of morality or self insight.

As bad as WandaVision is, it could at least be tolerable if, as a result, Wanda left with the impression that people with reality warping powers need to be held in check. Tack on that Amurica is causing damage to the Multiverse (environmental message made without hitting people over the head!). On the flip side, Strange learned from No Way Home that individual people matter. You have an actual, moral quandary with heroes fighting each other.

Instead, Wanda is cartoonishly evil. She wants to steal another woman's kids and is going around murdering people en masse.

I'm sure Sony wants a lot of things lol. I doubt Feige would stand by while they fucked up what the MCU's done for Spidey, but I welcome the chaos if he somehow slips and Sony accidentally puts out a good live-action movie for a change.

What MCU's done?

Rami Spidey 1 and 2 are better than any MCU movie.

Feige is no supergenius as She-hulk, Eternals, and all have exposed.

I'll care when she dates Bruno and Muslim heads explode.

Those Spider-Man movies are only good because Sam Raimi had complete control. Sony’s own Spider-Man ventures without the MCU are shit as they forced shit that made Spider-Man 3 not as great compared to the first and drove Raimi off by trying to cram in stupid ideas for Spider-Man 4.

Amazing Spider-Man is a meh movie but then they were desperate for a cinematic universe so they forced everything in for the garbage sequel which made Andrew Garfield quit.

And even now Sony is trying to force their shit Sinister Six universe and are laughably incompetent in doing so that they even thought memes taking the piss out of them were a genuine grassroots support effort. Not to mention they’re making a movie based off a obscure comic villain who only appeared in 2 issues.

The only thing Spider-Man related film wise that Sony has going for them now is Spiderverse but they’ll fuck that up somehow.

At least the Tom Holland movies actually feel like movies even if they’re not the best.

I know this is a thread for the movies and that which pertains to it, but it's relevant to the topic of Marvel itself what I'm about to say, and that's the fact that they need to stop FUCKING REBOOTING SPIDER-MAN. Seriously, what the actual fuck, the 2022 comic run is doing the same shit AGAIN. Let Peter have a goddamn job and stable relationship you hack fucks. He doesn't need to be Batman, but he doesn't need to be living in a goddamn apartment with no money. Fuck.
Sam Ramey Spider-Man 1&2 are still the best Spider-Man films to have ever existed and it should have ended there.

You need another word other than shit. Aside from that, the MCU is a rancid cesspit pumping out bad to mediocre trash movies that consoomers gobble up.

It's a mark of how good those films are that they stand out. That's the trade off. Pre-MCU cape and cowl stuff could be great or terrible. What's the best superhero movie since Avengers? Fucking Civil War? Guardians of the Galaxy?

How far have we fallen. I'll take twenty bad superhero movies to get a truly great one again.

Thor 4 is out next month, Spider-Man has a new trilogy in the works and I'm sure Nova will pop at some point. Those are just the ones I can recall off the top of my head.
Nova will never NOT be full of gay if it comes out. The guy's name is literally Dick Rider. They'll go all-in to make sure he does.
