Wasn't Dracula Untold ment to be the first of the dark universe? Than they scrapped that idea. Started again with The Mummy than bomb.

I also think the invisible man was originally ment to be part of it too. Than that got scrapped and became its own thing.

Really the Dark Universe is just one big shitshow.

Shame, because there is potential in a new Universal Horror series if done right. Too bad modern Hollywood is incapable of that.

Hell, there was a sort of proto-Dark Universe in the early 2000's but it wasn't explicitly named as such.

The Brendan Frasier Mummy movies are part of the same world as The Scorpion King movies, and IIRC, Van Helsing was also supposed to be in that same universe, at least at first.

Van Helsing was actually pretty good for what it was, despite the fact it was a flop.

The Dark Universe was so horribly mismanaged they wound up literally taking Jay Bauman's advice and turned the whole shebang over to Blumhouse Productions.

Yeah it didn't help like for me when looking back, Dark Universe tried to make universal horror monsters into Superheroes when I hate to say this, they should've done what Crypt-TV did and embrace the horror aspect better.

They weren't calling it Dark Universe then, but Van Helsing and then The Wolfman were both also supposed to jumpstart expanded universes but Universal kept getting cold feet after bad box office or whatever.

Does Dark Universe count as an expanded universe if there's only one movie?

I stopped caring about capeshit after infinity war 2. Legit can't understand why so many people care about capeshit nowadays.

If it was just kids and younger adults I could understand, but there are middle-aged people screaming and cooming over some of the most generic bullshit in the history of cinema.

And more feeble. Like, if she were Chyna or Gina Carano or some other swole wrestler, I can at least believe she can play girl Thor (unsolicited opinion on Israel aside). Natalie Portman has always been a willow and all her roles reflect that.

A superhero role doesn't really fit her in my honset opinion. I mean her playing the love intrest is fine. But her as a actual superhero is just weird for me.
 
Is Natalie Portman going to be like...CGI'd to hell as Thor?

I've seen absolutely no pics of her bulked up or training or anything.
