From what I can tell, that's pretty much exactly what's going on. The Devil's hands are busy, they've gone through 3 scripts where Blade is replaced by a female character whose better than him at killing vampires. The only reason this movie is even still happening is because Ali hasn't walked and also is holding the line against doing a movie where he's both the title character and a secondary.

This is tangent, but MCU Twitter is somehow coming to Feige's defense here with the argument that anyone complaining just wants "hype moments and aura" instead of a well written movie.



I used to think I knew what that little piece of zoomer slang meant but now I'm not sure. I really just have no idea what kind of defense that is. What does "fleshed out character" mean in this context? He needs to cry? Have some kind of moral epiphany in the middle of an action scene? As much as I like the movie, I think I have to blame Sinners here. Blade can' just be Blade anymore, now he has to act like a colossal pussy or Malcom X because that's what classifies as a deep narrative now.

I guess my confusion comes from the fact that we already had 3 whole Blade movies that managed to do both and 2 of them were good.

A male character just going around killing shit and being badass is not acceptable to these "people". He must troon out, get emasculated, or rant about how oppressed black people are. That is what they consider to be a fleshed out character.

Apologies for being late on my Superman opinion. Overall, the film was okay, but the casting was its strongest point. I wanted more of the Lois actress with Clark, as they had good chemistry. The power scaling, though, was everywhere, and this Superman feels underpowered. You have Mr Terrific, whose power is being rich and black like 1 vs 100 people with no issue. It feels like they're trying to do Red Sun as a sequel, and that's cool, but it's not the right actor unless he can go full Bryan Cranston and make a 180-degree turn.

As for F4, Jesus fucking christ, when do these fuckers learn SAY NOTHING POLITICAL ON THE FUCKING PRESS TOUR!!!! I have heard Pedro multiple times go on about fucking trans shit. At least Kirby knows when to shut the fuck up. They released this way too close to Superman because cinema people, if any tend to go once a month. I am only going because I happen to be in the city on pre-screenings. If they break even with this, they are lucky. In the Superman showing, I heard multiple groans from women and men at the F4 trailer, and people hate Pascal. How this guy has a career is a fucking psy-op.

Blade, they have at least to my knowledge, rewritten the script for Blade 5 fucking times. It's a film where a BMF kills vampires. It's easy as fuck. I feel bad for Ali because he has to plan movies around this crap, and he should honestly sue Disney for damages. He is one of the few good actors who are new, and his career is being wasted.

I want to see that Avengers budget, though. It's going to be lunacy.

edit - Captain Marvel in comic media has failed EVERY SINGLE TIME. They always give them shit writers, and they can never agree to her power set. Honestly, she is just a boring character. You're not wrong. I remember Feige mentioned Captain Marvel very early on, but I think they did not want to risk the male audience and the infancy of the project. Denvers is so hard to cast, too because she is so drab of a character. You can't cast a badass like Theron because then it is too intense, and you cannot cast a more goofy woman like Anna Paquin because then the action doesn't do so good.

Also, why the fuck didn't they cast Stephen Moyer as Doom? He ticks so many of the boxes.
