Anyone who practices a martial art that is used against spears and swords instead of knives and guns is either a stupid traditionalist (if from that cultural background) or a weaboo
Fencing is an olympic sport and is associated with high culture.

Wow. You'd think Autisticdragonkin had never heard of the bow and arrow.

People have been successfully using melee weapons against projectile weapons for thousands of years. Calvary & Halbreders smashing blocks of archers was a standard medieval tactic.

I wish I found this earlier when he was still making videos. His name is Thomas Daw and he has a very dubious and questionable history in martial arts.

His school's youtube channel.

It's like if Chris opened a dojo in his home. The demonstrations I can't even call flailing with how little effort they put.

He issued a video out to his trolls and called the cyber police.

It's all about what the end result is. There's lots of sports and activities that today are almost unrecognizable descendants of what was a martial discipline once upon a time.

If you're doing them to have fun, or because it interests you, so be it, and you just might get some unintended benefits along the way, since physical activity improves overall health. There's nothing wrong with that and someone who's an avid archer in the 21st Century is not some kind of deluded fool unless he/she honestly believes the Roman Legions may try to take over the block some day, and they've got to be READY for that.

That's not the fault of archery, that's just then being an autistic moron.

And guns aren't exempt from spergs either, if you look at how many walk around with loaded ones stuffed in their waistbands, try to shoot them "gangsta style" (the iron sight is on the top for a REASON, Buckwheat) and look up the phrase "range toy" sometime, and see the kind of form-over-function guns they gravitate to when getting proficient with a simple .22 target pistol is a lot cheaper and more practical if your objective is to learn basic weapons handling.

It's the belief that carrying a badass weapon makes one instantly a badass, when anyone can tell you that's not true. Well, anyone who isn't an insecure proto-MRA, that is.

>sports are dumb

Oooookay.

No wonder you start threads wondering how to get physically active.

Power level.

I remember when I used to be into Taekwondo, the black belts had their last names sewn into their outfits. One guy had "Master Bater" on his.

I remember seeing a couple of weirdos back then, but nothing that sticks out in my mind.

A couple of choice recent videos from the "Top Martial Artist in California".

Here's he's showing trolls what it means to be a warrior.

Here he wants his opponents to plead to him for mercy before he assumes great power on December 20th and ascends to be the god Heru (Horus) or something.

His $3000 challenge still stands.

Making a title with 3 or more clauses is sign of schizophrenia

It's okay, despite his many California Section 5150 "mental holds" and the psychiatric medicine he is court-ordered to take, you can be sure that he is in no way schizophrenic because he aced a self-administered online multiple choice test, the surest measure of one's mental health in all of the known universe. ;)

If you've had to take tests to determine if you're nuts enough times that you can actually ace one, you're probably fucking nuts.

Well, he's not a warrior I can tell you that much. I can't comment on his skill with either the knife or other things but if there's one thing that martial arts taught me is the cocky ones usually get their asses handed to them and either drop out or change their tune.

Unless you joined a McDojo or your sensei / sifu is really full of himself every martial artist I've ever met has been very mild mannered outside the ring. Once you get inside however it's a different matter. But yeah, this guy is a tool. A very possibly skilled tool, but a tool none the less.

Is there even any legit martial art that involves pulling out a switchblade instead of a sword?

When he's miming stabbing someone, it seems only a notch or two below "using a gun" on the "you're doing martial arts wrong" scale.

Old school capo it wasn't uncommon for someone to pull out a knife and shank someone.#TYCED
