It's debatable whether this guy constitutes a lolcow or a genius troll but there are a couple of factors that make me lean towards the former label. You can decide for yourselves what you think he is.
The person in question was called Supershadow (powerword: Mickey Suttle) and he claimed to be a personal friend of George Lucas and privy to insider knowledge about the making of the Star Wars films (he popped up around the time the Prequels were still being made). He operated a website imaginatively titled Supershadow.com where he would post "spoilers" and other updates about the films. Almost all of the information he provided turned out to be incorrect and even when it was correct it was usually only because an actual insider had leaked something.
While it was pretty obvious the guy was full of shit there was a massive debate amongst Star Wars fans over whether he was for real. This eventually caught the attention of someone at Lucasfilm who was quick to clarify (to the surprise of no-one) that Supershadow wasn't involved with them and never had been. This should have been the end of it, but Supershadow refused to drop the charade and, incredibly, there were still fans who believed he was genuine.
The hilarity didn't stop when the Prequels were over either. Supershadow began posting information about a Star Wars sequel trilogy including plots for the three films and synopses for the trailers. These were incredibly poorly written and had numerous factual errors relating to Star Wars lore but there were still people who bought it. There were also some announcements uploaded about a fifth Indiana Jones film and maybe a few other Lucasfilm properties but I can't remember them exactly.
When Disney bought Lucasfilm and announced an actual sequel trilogy was on the way, not to be deterred, Supershadow simply modified his sequel trilogy plots so that it read the Disney logo would appear at the beginning. Clever eh?
And that's not all. There was a section on the webpage called "Supershadow's Super Hot Girlfriend" (or something like that) which linked to pictures of various models Supershadow had nicked off other websites and claimed were his girlfriends. I heard that he was being sued by one of the women who's photo he used but I'm not entirely sure that's true.
Supershadow's website is gone but it's been archived and there's even an article about it on Wookieepedia:
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/SuperShadow. Other than that, he seems to have disappeared off the web. Not gonna lie, I would've loved for him to start the whole cycle of pretending he was an insider on the new films again but it seems he's gotten bored of that act. Or maybe Disney are harder on this kind of thing than Lucasfilm and have taken more decisive measures against him...
EDIT: Check out the talk page of the Wookieepedia article to see some glorious autism:
