i did. and? youre still getting all the episodes. 20 dollars more just gets you early access to the two episodes which are really gonna play more like chapters. i mean i dont agree with what they do there but i dont see what youre going at

So I played the game, I usually like cringy/bad games but this fucking ending.
Safi can shapeshift. Safi wants to find other people with powers to form an X-Men group to rule the world or someshit. There's a post credit scene where I kid you not: Safi recruits Diamond who has powers I guess now too like she's fucking Nick Fury. And then "MAX CAULFIELD WILL RETURN" WHAT????

I enjoyed Null's playthroughs. It's an ok game to watch. I wanted to bitch slap Chloe so many times though while watching Before The Storm. The Elliot Roger clone was just too much. Honestly, they'd make a perfect couple since they are both so toxic and awful. And it would probably end like a teenage version of The War of the Roses.

You choose her fate when speaking to the other main character. Chloe is not in the game at all unless you count text messages if you chose to say she dumped you for possibly Victoria.

Well, that went poorly.
It seems DONTNOD, the original developers of Life is Strange, have not directly been part of this series since its sequel, Life is Strange 2. I believe Deck Nine, the current wranglers, have worked on the series spin-offs since then. DONTNOD were a part of the Before the Storm game in a consultancy manner, though I don't think the same can be said for anything past that.
In comparison to LiS (which I found some enjoyment in watching), the sequel was a snooze fest. BtS was inline with the original game with its major issue being centered around the most annoying character to ever this godforsaken earth (Chloe). But for the game's core fanbase, it seemed to tick all the right boxes: villainize everyone and everything accept the danger hair creating and exacerbating all the problems? Check. Take a bland basic bitch and idolize her to hell and back? Check. Lesbians? Check.
Double Exposure seems to have split whatever's left of this series' core fanbase in half, burning returnees in the process as Deck Nine's efforts after BtS have struggled to gain traction or even maintain the popularity of LiS. Somewhat similar to what's happened with the developers behind Until Dawn but I digress.
It seems no choices matter in the game. Chloe (and by extension LiS 1) is only incorporated into the game through text messages and mentions by Max, with their relationship over due to Chloe being freaked out by the idea that Max could have been using her time powers to pick the right answers and do the right things, which I think is perfectly in-character for Chloe because she would absolutely accuse her girlfriend of doing something Chloe herself would do if given the ability. Anyway, Max then proceeds to use her abilities to get into a romantic relationship with one of the new characters in an alternate timeline after going cold turkey on her time powers after the first game's events. There's some mystery about a girl named Safi and a book deal gone wrong, as well as a murder mystery that is never truly kickstarted or resolved. The writers didn't seem to care so I don't either. Safi then becomes Nick Fury as mentioned earlier in the thread.
There's a part of the fandom (largely the Chloe fans and Max/Chloe shippers) that is furious, and rightly so. Though I don't treat LiS with the same care that they do, I'd say what this restart to the franchise does is equal to taking a character that is at the core of the overall and personal narrative, character development, and motivations of Max, tossing her into the bin for a new POC wifeu (I'm assuming Safi is that considering the name), and then fucking around with or blatantly ignoring the foundations, core, and even the basics of an existing property to jerk off their own agenda and OCs.
What goes around seems to be coming around and the left is cannibalizing itself.

A lot of people write off the first game as woke walking sim slop (rightfully so), but I think it unintentionally says something really interesting about the mid-2010s 'me me me' culture of millennials/zoomers. It's kind of the logical conclusion of it, if that makes sense? No matter how hard the game tries to paint it as perfectly acceptable, it's an inescapable thought that many rational people should realize. Despite living in what many foreigners would call the 'American Dream,' everybody in the game is miserable; either by pursuing materialistic individualism (Chloe) or by consequence of caring for someone in pursuit of it (literally everybody around Chloe).
It is the epitome of taking what you have for granted: living in a small PNW town like Arcadia Bay, which can provide everything for you, and trashing/destroying it. Having lived and grown up in a small town with similar demographics previously, the peace is something everyone takes for granted, even trashing it for having nothing to do. People who are like Chloe and Max want a big city for 'diversity' and self-expression, even though they are only a miniscule person in a sea of faces who will never know or understand you (sometimes even in a literal linguistic sense).
Depending on your choices in the first game and the most recent game, everyone that you know, and once cherished, are dead to you because you pursued a lesbian relationship that was merely a phase in your life. It's also very on the nose about the grim state of many young White people, who are led astray into this way of thinking, and have families that are torn apart from it, despite being in a relatively peaceful, privileged position. The games after really fuck it up by focusing on telekinetic mexicans and moving out of the White middle-American lens. Maybe I'm reading too much into the slop.
Aside from that, the new game seems like it will be mildly fun to watch Josh play through.
