Shame how DE turned out with management getting fired and Square Enix facing money troubles.

The best thing to happen to the franchise would be a reboot in 2030 or Margot Robbie finally rescuing the TV Show from development hell. Just enough time for Max to get her back fixed after carrying that lazy Disney-slop trash.

Wouldn't surprise me. They burned the most loyal and biggest fanbase they had left after teasing the return of Max( and Chloe) which was kind of a desperate move in itself.
As usual authors start seething when players pick the "wrong" ending and had to correct things.
It's hilarious how the terrible comic everyone shat on for years is a better followup to LiS1 than DE.

In total fairness it is absolutely in character for Chloe to completely disregard the massive sacrifice of hundreds of people for her life in exchange for sex and petty, selfish, behavior.

Not to compliment the writing at all, really, since it is still massively lazy to not have Chloe play some kind of role in the sequel outside of that. Sacrificing her in exchange for the town and to stop all the murders prematurely is the only ending that makes any kind of narrative sense whatsoever.

I'll still go with the ending where your choices actually mattered instead of the one that makes it so that you might as well not have played the game at all.
Not that I really care, the endings were dumb because DN rushed the game and had no idea how to wrap it up so if they didn't care I don't see why I should.
 
I just finished watching Null's life is strange DE playthrough, and holy fuck what a bad game. There is like nothing happening in this story. In contrast, so much shit happened in LiS1: a rich kid getting away with crime in a town his family owned, a town rapist, school projects with classes, subplots about your classmates (one ended up jumping off a school building), a kick ass jannie, a coomer boy who wanted to date you, rich insufferable bully cunts, your manic pixie dream girl whose dad died and has a pretty based step dad, some trailer trash drug dealer, and the foreshadowed freak storm.

In double exposure, you get a gay bar with shallow characters which have less going on in their lives than their literal high school counterparts. Even the music sucked. The number one song by the person who did the menu music is a tranny self insert song about lesbian love. Menu song: Someone was listening by dodie. Their top song: she by dodie. No wonder the tranny devs picked her to do the front song for this gay fucking game.

My favorite thing about DE is completely meta. If you chose to sacrifice the town for Chloe, then you essentially made Max a school shooter but worse. Instead of shooting up a school because some girl wouldn't date her, Max kills an entire town because a girl wouldn't date her. Of course, this isn't addressed by the shitty writers of DE at all, but it's very funny to think DE is so bad, it may have cannonized Max being a school shooter. The best part? the writers for this game are so bad, they probably don't even realize it. Fucking hilarious.

I love how the dumbass IP and fanbase gloss over the fact that Max's body count comprises of literal children as seen on the cover of issue #2.

Imagine being so coom-brained and degenerate that you glorify sacrificing an entire town of 5,035 innocent men, women and children (Tillamook Bay's population in 2013) so some hippie rich kid from Seattle can eat out some blue-haired junkie and get cucked by her years later.

Haven't those diehard Chloe fans also tried to come up with reasons to "justify" that, i.e., that's 5000 dead Republicans/Right-Wingers/Alt-Right/GamerGaters/MAGA gone?

And hopefully Hajime Isayama didn't get inspiration from LiS when he decided to have Eren Yeager kill 80% of the World's population.

A good comparison is The Last of Us (first one of course). Joel's actions are clearly foreshadowed, and everyone in-universe and the players know what's going to happen. While you can give plenty of medicinal/logistical reasons why Joel was right it all boils down to a man who had everything taken away from him and decided to hold the first thing he gained since then without expecting things in return. And it's not a gay player choice, Joel decided it because he was written that way.

LiS has a privileged person do a horrific act to save someone they barely know to fuck them. A good writer would have the character be haunted by the choice, especially when the relationship doesn't work out. But from what I'm hearing it's the same childish mentality of doing bad action and then doubling down on why it was actually correct rather than admit it.
