Is there any precedent for how long it usually takes?

Unfortunately, no. There are too many variables. The biggest ones are the demand for and the availability of beds, which I don't know for Virginia, but I can guarantee there are never enough. The time of year plays into it; Chris is unfortunate he's looking for a placement going into winter when demand is highest. Another huge factor is how well behaved the patient is. Chris could do a lot to speed up the process by behaving himself at admission interviews, but we all know he won't.

I know of cases that were placed in just a day, and others who took months and months before finally getting a bed. Chris is one of the more difficult ones. However, the court has Chris on a deadline, with his one year evaluation hearing next summer, so I expect they will pull some strings to stuff him somewhere before then.

Of course Dr. Greyhound always provides prompt, efficient service, but Chris is lucky in that his legal troubles probably prevent him from being a candidate. Even so, Cole would be wise to invest in one of those camera doorbells.

tl;dr: It will probably take a few months, but not a whole year, to find somewhere for him.

His behavior will almost certainly mark him as a problem client and the options available to him will be even more limited than those available to a more behaviorally docile candidate. I think a good chunk of the possible beds available will simply refuse to have anything to do with him. He's not particularly dangerous, but he might be limited to that kind of facility literally just for being so fucking annoying.

They also have to worry about his own safety. No tard home wants to be left holding the bag when Chris gets his ass kicked by their other residents.

Chris is a difficult placement for a ridiculous number of reasons. I suspect he's already had a number of placement interviews and failed them all. Or declined them all, because Chris is an idiot who believes beggars can be choosers.

This seems both obvious and not obvious but Chris has a choice of where he'll be sent?

It's more like a choice of where he won't be sent, but yeah, it's a possibility.

Why the hell would they give him that type of power?

Reasons.

With a deferred disposition, Chris technically isn't convicted, and so still has some rights as a run of the mill crazy. Also tard homes really don't want to deal with residents who don't want to be there, so they'll look for any excuse to decline a placement, including the applicant's refusal.

It's pretty early on in this new rather liberal regime of mandatory placement of these released criminal tards. I doubt they want to admit they already met their match this early in a pilot project because they found the most unplaceable retard of all time.

He still would be obnoxious in a group home.

Too bad that he won't be in a mental institution; Crayola markers/crayons to his heart's content, fatty food (and snacks) depending on where he goes, he can nap in his assigned room and if he behaved well extra paper for him to draw "Sonichu" instead of for Praetor. Too bad that he's too crazy and far gone

Bring back the mental hospitals. Lots of people need them.

He’s not crazy enough to be institutionalized. That’s the problem.

Nah it's simple. We just have to find that one place that actually WANTS the notoriety of having some weird internet phenomenon at their facility.
Who's the Chris Chan of facilities in Virginia?

i feel like discussion about him would continue but would slow down considerably, but then explode every time there was any sliver of information released. i honestly have no idea how life will be after he is released from prison. group home maybe?

Chris will wander the streets preaching the good word of sonichu, the merge and hyperdimension neptunia and the fools will listen but they will not believe until they hear those trumpets

Put me down for 14 BLC having to be torn down, between the fire and water damage, no repointing in decades and the amount of spores floating around the masonary is probably held together more by high hopes than whatever rotting mortar is left in there

It was fixed up after the fire.

'fixed up' is kind of vague, I imagine the heat stress and then being hosed out has done some structural damage, and created channels for rain to sleep in and wear it away further. I doubt they had all the mortar dug out and redone, new facade is more Chandler style

Either way you couldn't pay me to lean on a load bearing wall in the place

I do wonder how Christory will end, because it's been going on for a while and shows no sign of stopping. Even now, when he's been MIA for almost a month, people still talk about him. Is discussion about him just gonna go on till he dies?

I'm sure Chris will see his return to the Internet as being not unlike the ressurection of Christ. The end of the speculation saga, the dark age of Christory.
