Haven’t commented in awhile cuz our gorl is so boring rn... Here I am with a little medical sperg, slight PL, gimme them top hats and puzzle pieces LETS GOOOOO!!! So, Amber is having a major abdominal surgery, which if a normal sized person had the same surgery, they would have a small incision about 6-8 inches long horizontally, which is still painful, but is much less painful than a sternum to pubis incision our gorl is gonna have. I’m honestly wondering why she wasn’t referred to a bariatric specialty hospital. By all indications, she is having her surgery in a regular hospital, which is fine if her docs have bariatric training etc.. I’ve had major abdominal surgery twice... I’m not tiny, I’m about average (5’1 135elbees). The pain afterwards was HORRENDOUS, and I have a high tolerance for pain. I’m also a nurse who has taken care of many bariatric patients. When they are our gorls size they ALWAYS have complications post op. Always. Whether it’s infection, blood clots, healing issues, whatever else you can think of, it happens. Myself, mid-forties, ok health, in the hospital 6 days. 350+ pound patients are never released from a major surgery in less than 10 days, and they usually go to a nursing home/rehab if they have been stubborn about walking post surgery. She is going to be in the hospital for longer than she thinks. Her doc probably said “at least 3 days”, because that’s what is standard. We have seen how she heals, y’all, and it’s not good at all. They are going to control her diet, and encourage movement, and we all know how she is when peeps tell her what to do. She’s gonna be a whole nightmare. I’m not sure if she will be allowed visitors with the whole Covid thing, but even if she is, it will be regulated to one at a time, and bringing in outside foods will not be tolerated. She’s going to “hormone crash”, and will want to numb the pain with food, which she won’t be able to get. We could see a pain pill dependence substitution for awhile, cuz she will be getting that good good in the hospital (probably a PCA pump for the first few days, I didn’t get one, but to the normal tx for post op pain control). She’s gonna be a whole, jiggly mess, and I hope Beefy or MethMama records it. I would pay to see her walking with a walker post op with her giant shelf ass jiggling out the back of her gown, wearing those sexy mesh panties they like giving the ladies post gyne surgery! I’m also about one hundred percent positive she did purchase a lift recliner, because that is recommended for patients who already have trouble ambulating. If she goes home under 4 weeks, she will probably need a walker, shower chair, and a potty chair. Sorry for deciding to write my novel in KF comment section. This shit has been in my head since the whole bloody blowhole, muh cancer diagnosis storyline. I feel actual pity for the team of medical professionals assigned to Amber........ it’s gonna be a shit show. My one big hope is that at least one of her care team is a farmer!
