To lose weight, she'd absolutely have to cut back her portion sizes and stop eating all the time, which would cause her to feel hungry, I. E. "starve" until her stomach has adapted. Even the tiniest bit of temporary discomfort is unbearable to her.

After the surgery, she will be losing a lot of weight. She will be constant pain and will not feel like eating much, even for Amber. Unfortunately, this will last only so long. She might lose 50 to 75 pounds and she will obviously think that it was her efforts, or intuitive eating, or any other rubbish reasons, will give herself a pass on eating a bit more, and her weight loss journey will bring her back to 600 pounds. She will have learned nothing.

This is why the post-surgery saga will be the best saga we will never see. She won't have a choice in the matter but because of the coronavirus she won't be allowed visitors so Becky can't show us her suffereen. I expect some epic rants about her hospital stay once she is discharged if the surgery ever happens.

I was really thinking about it .. what if she actually loses all the weight she's meaning to and get to a healthy size (which I know it wont last long since she eats like a fucking pregnant whale) she would be Smugllynn 24/7 and in every vlog she makes.. Still pretty sure the cancer dx is a hoax, but Amber has a history of slapping every doctor she's ever seen in the face with her refusal to follow any sort of direction, so even if true this would be typical. But she's blustered in the last few weeks about taking this seriously and actually listening to doctors, and she is not doing that.

it’s baffling to me that they want to proceed with the surgery, but maybe her case is so bad that it outweighs the risks.

They have no idea how bad it is - since she's too much of a fatass to fit in the PET, the only way they're going to know anything is via surgery. Imagine being such a lardass you render all the usual tools useless when you might have a significant health issue.
