Here's a survey from the same PEW research agency with overwhelmingly negative views about DAESH from most Muslim nations.

There's a multitude of reasons why the Crusades happened, but "I want those pagans dead" isn't one of them. It's never brought up in the first hand stories.

I think they argued themselves into a corner. Many of them probably started out well-meaning: "don't blame an entire race/religion for the acts of few, look at history and see how racists accused some black guy of preying on a white woman so they could lynch him, or how antisemites claimed the Jews were going to take all of your money and poison your wells! Lets not do that again!!"

So now, everything that happens, every rape and sexual harassment, every terrorist attack in the West by Islamists - it has to be argued away because it just does not compute in their minds. It's false accusations by racists, or they were not real Muslims.

Ehhhh... Deus Vult was more of a battle cry to unite the Crusader armies against very united Muslim nations. Remember, it wasn't one army fighting one army, it was the armies of about 15 different nations against one army.

Each army brought commanders schooled in different kinds of warfare and some armies that fought in the Crusades had just got done warring with one another, they needed an effective cry to unite their troops

The Islamist terrorists were at fault because they weren't real Muslims and had internalised their oppression on the basis of being POCs. This gets them off the hook for having to say BLM deserved it and also off the hook of having to criticise Islam.

Yeah, I'm gonna ask that we keep debate about Islam/Muslims out of this thread. We already have a thread on Islam in the Deep Thoughts subforum, as well as a recent one about whether or not it can reform. Those are much more appropriate places to discuss serious issues. This is a thread for laughing at ignorant shitlibs who are all too happy to sell out their ideals and principles so long as the people violating those ideals and principles are a certain skin color.

Also, lay off @Ntwadumela, he's exactly the kind of moderate Muslim the world desperately needs more of.
