Yeah, he can't operate a modern washing machine, or Paypal. Gimp is out of the question. Really, I think he has a phobia about learning. Is there such a thing?

You may be on to something. It's not that Jon is merely lazy, it's that he doesn't even try to expand his knowledge. More settings than you know how to use on the washing machine? Oh heavens, toss your hands in the air and walk off. After all, getting out the instruction manual and reading it to find out what happens next would be such a monumental undertaking. Best leave things like "Delicates" and "Permanent Press" to the Geordi La Forge's of the world.

I can't imagine that Jon owns anything properly classifiable as "delicates" anyway. No, I can imagine. I just really hope not.

The fact he can't use Paypal just baffles me. My 73-year-old mother can use Paypal, and I didn't show her how. She figured it out. It's designed to be easy to use.

Well, clearly, there must be something wrong with your grandmother, because, remember: everyone else has problems, but Jon's just fine.

Geez, guys, Paypal is really iffy technology that's probably going to go away any day now. The days of mailing paper checks shall return.

Yeah, I mean, by now, everyone is slowly realizing this whole "internet" thing is nothing more than a passing fad. Any day now, it's going to go the way of pogs and disco. No sir, no future in the internet, that's for sure. And what is it with these digital watches I've been hearing so much about?

I don't yet have all the answers to offer, but perhaps that's because I'm really not one for asking a lot of questions. I find it to be a pointless exercise that just muddies the waters.

Dr, Thunder is a step down from Mr. Pibb. Anyway, he seems pretty depressed. That always makes me happy.

I'm really not one for asking a lot of questions. I find it to be a pointless exercise that just muddies the waters. After all, if everyone around you is lying to your face, what's the point anyway, right? When you go about asking a lot of questions, people wonder about you, and begin to suspect you may be up to something. Too many questions tend to derail the goody train. You'll find you get a lot further in life when you don't clutter it up with such pointless truck, trust me. Don't like that idea? Well, hey, I don't make the rules; that's somebody else's problem.

This is Jonathan in a nutshell. A pathological incuriosity about the world, a raging paranoia used to justify continuing to behave in a socially repellent manner, and a smug, cutesy attitude to top it off. As always, it would be crushingly sad if he weren't such a reprehensible person.

This was a guest strip I did a few years back for one of my favorite webcomics, Commissioned. They'd already put up two other strips of mine while the regular artist, Obsidian Abnormal, was unavailable (a common practice with webcomics, who often invite other artists to submit strips of the characters drawn in their own style while the regular guy or gal who does the strip is on vacation or something)

I really have to wonder if this is true or if Sweet is lying again. Wouldn't be the first time Sweet duped a normal person into giving him the benefit of the doubt.
