The funny thing is that they often accuse people of not "reading Orwell right." Like, whenever they're presented with this stuff their entire argument is "YOU'RE the oppressive ones that Orwell was writing about, we're the victims!" Like somehow holding people accountable for their actions makes them Big Brother. I've seen this in media that presents the whole "everyone must fall in line with what one person says, even if that one person is a hypocrite" thinking as bad, them trying to damage control.

Yeah that's what their doublethink is about. No matter what happens, no matter facts or evidence, the opposition is bad and SJWs are good.

Orwell would be proud. Well he would more likely be horrified and pissing in his pants but yeah.

Doublethinking Orwell to twist him to fit your politics is particularly ironic. Personally I think Huxley fits more often with how these people work, but still.

My hopes are extremely high for any upcoming drama that may surround this project. If it's a cash grab that steals money from oversensitive people, we win. If it's a legit site that gets abused by oversensitive people, we win.

This seems like the perfect opportunity for me to pull a #tyce and make a ton of reports towards the kiwi farms to mess with SJWs

In all seriousness I do not see any other outcome for this....thing... than just a total ween swarm engulfing the entire application.

All I'm seeing is a slaughterhouse, line up to air your dirty laundry in a place trolls will know to find you and pay for the privilege.
Might as well just walk around with a freaking sign saying "I don't know how to turn my computer off, sympathy please"

You two need to stop, or my dystopian literature boner will overtake me. And I've noticed that as well with the SJWs. They do very well at holding dueling thoughts in their minds and somehow not noticing that.

I just realized if this thing did take off, it could be an endless source of free halal.

The interesting bit is that you will be able to choose how bystanders "intervene" or "take action", so I guess that means you can tell other Heartmobbers to call the "harasser" a meanie or something? As far as I can tell, that's the only function of this website that, in theory, differs in anyway from a message board.
I can't wait until "Heartmobbing" people becomes a thing, like swatting. I also can't wait until a "cyberstalker" is outed on Heartmob, resulting in a Heartmobber physically assaulting said person. Oh I'm sure Heartmob's TOS say you aren't supposed to post dox, but they can't pretend they don't know it's gonna happen. It's like a raid board.

I think it's very odd that the KS was for $10,000, yet they already had someone willing to drop $17,250 on it. Did this thing really "need" funding at all?
That's pretty normal, I hear. I was talking to a friend about publishing a book with crowdfunding. She strongly advised that if I was going to consider crowdfunding, that I have at least 50% of the funds raised via other channels before starting a KS, and seed the pot with that. People are more likely to pay in if they think you're going to hit your budget goal.

All I need to know is if I'll be able to report myself.

Okay, I also want to know if that will cause the universe to collapse in on itself.

This is not going to work. From my experience dealing with people who air out their problems and expect a personal army, you will find that nobody will want to directly intervene on anyone elses behalf, and if there is any support, the typical response will be "just ignore them, they are mean and suck."

99.9% of the people using this app will never help out a single other person and will only use the app to broadcast their own problems. And the majority of the issues people talk about will be "that bastard was cheating on me i want to kill myself, make him suffer!" or "the employee at walmart didnt know where toilet paper was boycott walmart!" or "this person called me fat and now i want to kill myself please give me $400,000 so i can deal with my depression"

Of course there may be a few realistic and serious problems that may come to light through Heartmob that may actually be deserving of a personal army such as someone being depressed due to actual bullying, or actual harassment at work or innocent pink puffballs being unjustly banned from lolcow based internet forum chatrooms, however there will be too much bullshit, sperging, sjw and teen angst nonsense that will make the entire concept useless.

It's a stupid concept but financially genius at the same time. If I had the money I would definitely have invested into this as well. The creators obviously realize how the internet works and know that the majority of their userbase will be idiots and potential lolcows. Like every good entrepreneur, they know the way to easy money is by exploiting the ideals of idiots. By tapping into the untouched and never ventured "I AM A VICTIM" market, there is an unknown amount of profit that can potentially be made through this venture. The success on this venture will not fall on how many lives can be protected but instead on how many people will see themselves as a "victim."
