I think once you get in the thousands range for sex toys, it’s more because of the brand/material used. For comparison, this $200 vibrator is considered luxury:All I know is that if I were gonna spend almost four grand on a freaking vibrator, it had better give me the orgasm to end all orgasms.
Fuck that, I want it to cook dinner, do dishes, and fold all the damn laundry. I can give myself an orgasm, but I'm damn sick of doing all the housework. All I know is that if I were gonna spend almost four grand on a freaking vibrator, it had better give me the orgasm to end all orgasms.
Gotta mention, you could buy two "Cowgirl" riding vibrators for 3000 dollars, with cash to spare. If you're gonna spend big, go big.

I'm happy this bullshit is being discussed, but goddamn some of the pseudo science people fall for and all the overpriced bullshit that gets bought. Its a big yikes from me.
Jesus Christ, the last REAL HORSE I bought in the 90s was half that much — and if you know how to ride, you get the action free, jes sayin. This woman is a lunatic.Gotta mention, you could buy two "Cowgirl" riding vibrators for 3000 dollars, with cash to spare. If you're gonna spend big, go big.

I like Gwyneth, as cringy and lolcow as she is, she did an interview where she basicly flat out said that she can't relate to ordinary people/the average person because of her background and occupation. I like that she keeps it real and isn't fake in that aspect, so many other celebrities are obsessed with virtue signaling nowadays. When you go from winning an Oscar to selling vagina eggs and golden vibrators. #lolcowgoals

I’m willing to bet the 4K vibrator sold at GOOP works about the same as the $200 vibrator, with the only difference being the gold plating.
I knew a mother of four who had a holistic medicine collection and one of the things in said collection was Nightshade. Then again up until recently I was under the false impression that there was fiberglass in dip, all on the word of someone I went to school with years ago. You'd be surprised by the things even yourself will take on faith from the right person.Don’t underestimate how popular pseudoscience/batshit woo stuff is. I’m still in a Facebook mums group from when I was an expat which is mainly expats, and well educated women and I am stunned by how many of them sincerely believe this sort of thing. As well as the usual vaccine deniers, MLM enthusiasts and cultists there are so, so many who believe all kinds of woo, sell all kinds of woo and push it on others. It’s been weird for me (who grew up in a poor bit sensible family, and ended up going into a clinical/scientific field) to see how many really are into it. I can fully believe goop sells this shit because I see a lot of women who are into it and have more money than sense

The supplements at GOOP are way overpriced as well. Here’s some examples:Thanks for bumping this thread, I completely forgot about it!
Goop allegedly does make lots of money. It was valued at $250 million in 2018 or 2019. Though in the age of WeWork, I'm not sure that means anything. It could be losing money every year, but I doubt it.
I wouldn't have much of as problem with Goop if they just sold really expensive clothes and home goods, it's the woo stuff that bothers me. It's nothing short of an embarrassment that grown women think crystals do anything but look pretty.
But I think there's actually a parallel with the tech bro crowd here as far as the health supplements she shills. Lots of silicon valley types and wannabes think the right expensive mix of supplements will make them smart, good looking, successful and help them live forever. At least they don't shove rocks up their dicks though.
I don’t know exactly what makes these supplements more special than just the regular Omega-3 and Vitamin C supplements you get at a grocery store. I mean, if you’re going to supplement, use stuff that isn’t a placebo (which I believe some of these supplements are). In addition, unless you have some sort of disorder, most people get their supplements fine in the food they eat (if they eat a balanced diet). That said, there are some supplements that GOOP sells, that aren’t as pricey:

Yeah but I've bought thousands of dollars worth of pink Himalayan salt crystals to shove up my vagina and now it speaks Latin but backwards. Help
I guess most people don't realize it. I didn't think much of it until I worked for a company that makes supplements and realized they're pretty much all the same and its all sourced from the same few places. People make their own proprietary blends and claim they're more effective blended, but they're usually not.The supplements at GOOP are way overpriced as well. Here’s some examples:

I’m not sure how many pills there are, or how big the container is though, but the price is more reasonable. Still though, why buy these from GOOP when you can get similar things at your local grocery store?
As far as supplements go, I think Omega-3 can be worth it if you have brain issues. The human brain thrives on fat, so having a bit extra can make a difference. Also, with Omega-3, it’s typically just straight fish oil (Omega-3s are obtained just from eating fish/meat/eggs). The nice thing to about this supplement is that you can get it pretty much at any grocery store at a decent price. This is why I don’t understand the point of buying speciality supplements. I mean, if GOOP is supposed to teach you to be healthy with exercise and a decent diet, you shouldn’t need majority of the supplements. For instance, if your diet was already good to begin with, why do you need a detox powder?I guess most people don't realize it. If I were into supplements, which I'm not because I think nearly all of them are unnecessary at best, I would just buy bulk powders and mix them myself because thats just what all these brands like GOOP are doing.
