I wonder what can justify an Egypt saga since there wouldnt be much of a reason to go there given that the Norse realm wasnt fucked over like the greek one.

Then again, if they nigger-fied NORSE mythology, God only know how much of that we are getting in Egypt (Where "We wuz kangz nd shiet" will be in full effect I'm sure)

So maybe its best keep the ancient olive-skinned people away from this

How the fuck would this even have WORKED?

God of war isn't the genre that even can support something like this... What, was kratos just gonna go realm to realm killing the same gods over and over? There's literally no way they could have made this without making it some other game with kratos just placed in it and god of war just slapped on it

Maybe do what Ascentions did and have us control original warrior characters ?
Its a stupid idea either way, soo....

Well then it'd just be ascension but always online and cost:

More money

Nah one dull on-rails 3rd person game is enough for this quarter. I'm going back ti Chivalry II once I'm done with this thing. Also Evil West looks like The Order 1887 and that's enough to keep me away for good.
Evil west is really fucking good actually. It plays like a mix of sekiro and doom eternal, its gameplay feels like an evolution of god of war more than the new god of war games do, and if you play on hard it has the same pattern learning counter based "every tool for the job" sekiro has going on.

Honestly if anything it did multi person tool/counter based combat way better than sekiro did.

I played a "preview copy" not long after release and it was a buggy, awkward mess with dubious translations, such as "Bucks" instead of "Dollars" and a mission even named "A Man of People" as opposed to "A Man of the People".

There's also the fact its a game about fighting vampires and shit in the Old West, but you mostly punch them with a steampunk electro-gauntlet instead of twin six shooters as you'd imagine and you're actually a bitch boy for Uncle Sam, including a mission where you go out of your way to save a politician's oil well investments thanks to your father selling out to the Federal government.

idk man, the game could be in chinese for all care and it wouldn't change the fact that the gameplay is top notch, its a beatemup built around mobility, dodging and interrupts and I think it does that exceptionally well. It feels like a great evolution of the god of war formula and succeeds in a lot of ways where bulletstorm failed with the enemy lasso and kick/cannonball punch.

That guy is literally a villain blackmailing you to do that against your wishes and the game ends with him being thrown in prison for life by the president.

Sure, but the game sells the gun aspect harder in the gameplay trailers than you use them in the game itself, so I wound up really disappointed.

Yeah, and its because Daddy sold out to the Feds that he's in a position to do that.

That's fair, for what its worth I also thought the trailers were dogshit. They market the game as third person bulletstorm when its closer to dmc + sekiro in practice and spirit.

I think that's probably why it didn't get that popular, it didn't market itself to people who would love it and marketed itself to people who wouldn't.

I knew of the game since it came out but didn't play it exactly because I thought it was a linear third person shooter.
Yeah, and its because Daddy sold out to the Feds that he's in a position to do that.
There is an arguement to be made that of all things that should be federal, interstate vampire hunting should be one of them.

i will play that anyday over the forced gay mission in gow ragnarok. evil west is a masterpiece compared to that woke garbage ragnarok.

Don't know where to put this as it is news for the adaptation

I have mixed responses on this news

On one hand, shame its adapted by someone with no prior knowledge

On the other thand, good on him for actually trying to engage with the source material unlike the fucks who made the Halo show.

Bumping the thread since there's more info on the writing team:
As revealed by Moore during a spotlight panel at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), the writers room for Sony’s “God of War” includes Moore, Naren Shankar (“The Expanse,” “For All Mankind“), Matthew Graham (“Life on Mars,” “Electric Dreams“), Joe Menosky (“The Orville,” “Star Trek: The Next Generation“), Tania Lotia (“The Witcher,” “Invincible“), Marc Bernardin (“Star Trek: Picard,” “Eyes of Wakanda“), and Stephanie Shannon (“For All Mankind,” “Outlander“).

“This is an exceptional group, it’s fun to be part of a writing team like this. Just like with ‘Outlander,’ I try to fill the room where half are fans, and the other half are new to the game,” Moore said. “That way, we can craft the show that can appeal to both people who love the game, and are encountering the world of ‘God of War’ for the first time.”
Article
Moore is usually pretty good at picking the right writers. Shankar, Graham and Menosky are competent, I don't know about the others.
Now let's see if McCreary joins as the composer.

Well bad news everyone, they are straight up memoryholing the Greek Era of GOW. I guess Kratos is just too cool and masculiune to be adapted in current year. This is presumably being done so that fans of the Norse games won't feel isolated but that's horseshit because why are we pandering to people who only played the 6th and 7th games in the series and nothing else?

It's fucked because you need the Greek era to get to the Norse era. For what it's worth I like the Norse era Kratos but that's because I like how the Norse era helps answer the question of how Kratos moves on.

The fat one was just one big huge set piece. That was not a particularly engaging one on one fight. Her design was pretty much based around the excuse of needing to take up room in order to progress to the next area. Because if the place lacked a boss fight it would just be a few straight jumps to the next area by the door.

The other Fates were pretty much what the modern Valkyrie/Berserker fights are

To be fair, the hallway leading up to her might as well be a boss fght.

I wonder how much they are gonna go woke and censor the GOW trilogy now, specially GOW2. I am sure they are gonna ruin it and make it for the modern audiences. That new sons of sparta looked like hot garbage.

Maybe I've been here too long but I completely agree with you. I don't trust a God of War remake by the people who have gone on record and said they've been actively working to make Kratos less masculine and toxic.
