Tbh, in my case I just realised most of the gameplay is a boring grind that consumed entire afternoons that I wish I could get back now on top of the gacha element being you praying to the rng gods to get something good and if not all you can do is just wallow in misery with the other losers. Around the time I realised that I went cold turkey on all my gacha games until 4chan briefly got me into Nu Carnival but then I quit that too once I remembered that at its core it's just another gacha game.
One of the things about FGO is that characters are usable no matter the rarity, as I said before, I had none gold saber in my account for more than two years, I was using a low rarity one and it is doable, also, the characters get skill and upgrades as the time goes on.
Sure the 5 stars get better stats, but since the game allows you to increase the level and its stats, you ends up using various low rarity characters even if you don't want to.
I know some gachas aren't like that, and characters gets easily powercrept, but in FGO case, I think not having good luck doesn't mean you can't advance the story.

Watching people use the literally canonical worst servant in the universe to finish high difficulty enemies makes me question my own gameplay choices lol

There is literally nothing wrong with being a casual.
This.

Even on the retro side of things, there's a lot of gatekeeping between what makes a casual and a hardcore in terms of interest in that, and I consider myself mostly on the casual side of things (the only difference being that I decided to fall into the Internet rabbit hole). Spending fuckloads of money on things for an optimal experience just feels rather unnecessary when not only did actual people not do that back in the day for the most part, but it doesn't even matter that much unless you're playing on a low-end LCD or something.

CRT flicker is also fucking annoying and makes me want to rip my eyes out even if I like the image quality, so there's that, too. (And of course, there's people who act superior because they're playing on a CRT and not a flatscreen. Guess what, flexing that one has more money and physical space for their stuff and making others who don't have it feel bad is not good.)

For what it's worth I guess in the end I just traded one grind for another cause I've been a Final fantasy 14 addict for a few years now. That's definitely a game where you'd be surprised at how much it caters to women.

For women who are usually more into casual stuff there's dressing up, decorating a house, though admittedly actually getting the house is an ordeal, the gathering and crafting elements, and RPing in a community where moderators are quick to shut down certain behaviour that plagues other MMOs.

The main story is also pretty accessible even if you prefer to play solo and I can think of at least 5 male NPCs who obsess over you to various degrees while as far as I can remember there's not a single female character who is into you that much. There's also a large and active modding community for extra character customisation and tools you can use to take shippy screenshots with your fave NPC.

I refuse to believe Final Fantasy XIV caters to women when the game treats you as intersex asexual platonic niggerbitch as possible,

throws attractive men in your face to spite you, and plasters a young tall white brunette male as the "protagonist" everywhere to remind you that your female protagonist is not canon and everyone thinks you're a autistic man who doesn't speak. Vote me MATI im ready.

I just want G'raha to stop saying he's short whenever he's ironically the tallest in the room, for teenage girls to not become gravely poisoned when i'm having a dinner date with a sexy elf man, and for square enix to stop catering to mentally ill retards who don't learn to play the game.

Quick aside, I am so fucking sick of all the fucking weeb trannies who joined the game post-stormblood. Always bitching about not able to wear womens clothes like niggs it's a virtual world just be a girl character.

I think there's a female character who is into the Warrior of Light - Alisae. Though the rumor is, it is only apparent when your character is female.

Also yes, FFXIV feels very pleasing for both eyes and soul of a female player. I would add that no pressure to fight-grind for anything certainly adds to that appeal.

I do not believe she is crazy about the protagonist, but she does defend you if someone talks shit or does you wrong. Both of the twins are quite fond of the protagonist, and I imagine the protagonist must also be fond of the twins since the three essentially started the whole journey together. In the latest expansion, you meet the parents of the twins and the mother will ask you to take care of them while on your journeys. Official babysitter status. I'd hate to see children get hurt anyway.

That said, the twins, Alisae and Alphinaud, often function as voice boxes for the retarded protagonist. I recall a scene where the armies of the world gather together to form a union against the big bad Not-Starwars Imperial army. One of the leaders will address you and ask you, the hero, to name their union. If you choose the "nervous response", Alisae will step in and suggest the same name that you would have stated had you chosen the "confident response". But thou must.

I like to think of the twins as a good litmus test to gauge freaks from healthy people. If they love the female twin Alisae, and I mean romantically they want to fuck her, avoid that person like the plague. If they hate the male twin Alphinaud to the point of wanting to beat him to death for the mortal sin of making mistakes as a teenager, avoid that person like the plague. All the trannies who play Final Fantasy XIV either have deep fears of children or want to have sex with children and it really comes to fruition whenever the twins make an appearance. Being reminded that children exist and that the player characters are fullgrown adults, expected to act like an adult, intimidates them.

Finished Nightshade. I have to agree, it was best to save Kuroyuki's for last since it was probably one of, if not, the best route My husband likes calling this game Sweet Home Alabama: The Game mostly because two of the love interests are your adopted brothers, one is your cousin, and another was friends with your mother.

Next I think I will play either Steam Prison or finish CxM. I don't know if I want to do Steam Prison since it seems like a long game with so many endings that they want you to finish all of them before the finale which just seems like a slog, especially since I am the type of person to only do the good endings (I made an exception to Yang in Piofiore's bad ending since a lot of people said it was really good and I agree) and it seems like a slog. I also want to try Olympia Soiree which I also have that I have been meaning to play.

I don't know if anyone here would've, since I'm a bit younger than most of the users here, but did any of you ever play Style Savvy (3ds game)?

I was obsessed with it as a tween/early teenager. Recently, I decided to run it on an emulator for old time's sake, and it surprisingly still holds up pretty well. So many fashion games were low quality and boring, but it actually had some effort put into it, and was part business management as well as merely being a clothing game.

I loved all the games. Shame it seems to be a dead franchise.

Wow, just now I realized the NP level, I wonder how much money did you expend on it, you must own almost every servant at this point if you want.
Haha sorry it took me so long to reply (just started a new job last week)! But yeah, I do tend to whale pretty hard when there is a Servant I want and I've managed to get a copy of damn good amount of them as a result. Off the top of my head, some of the 5 stars I know I'm still missing include Tesla, Space Ishtar, BB, Voyager, and probably some other "good" ones that just didn't interest me enough to roll aggressively for (though I would be thrilled if I got Voyager - he's adorable and Foreigner Servants are always useful to have).

So I'm happy with everyone I've got. My main focus lately is to max out everyone's skills and to create a diverse "catalog" of fully maxed Servants to choose from. Beyond that I've enjoyed grailing and utilizing lower star Servants like Asclepius, Jason, Lancer Cu, Salieri, David, Fuuma, etc.

So...I know I kind of shamelessly favor the boys, but I have max-skilled and use a lot of ladies, too. I adore Melt (and rolled pretty hard for her on her 1st release), Shuten Douji, Enkidu, Archer Altoria, Ereshkigal, and Berserker Nobunaga, to name a few. And, like, I know I'm sitting on some other really good ones like Caster Skadi, Tamamo no Mae, Jeanne d'Arc, etc. so I'll hopefully get around to maxing them some day, too.

My grailed ones and my 5 stars

Even as a f2p I have all servant classes in the game somehow lol.

Whoa! I don't think I've ever seen a level 90 Caesar or Long Arm Hassan! I'm always excited to see those on my Friendlist. I once friended someone solely for his level 100 Blackbeard. Those kind of Servants are fun to use!

How good is Caesar in general? Is he more valuable for special fights or for all-purpose questing? Admittedly, I've never really used him...

Bazett appeared briefly in FSN UBW anime as the Lancer master, she is the original Cu Chulainn Master, in the anime department, she is more famous in the Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya where she appears as an antagonist. But her first appearance was as a protagonist in Fate/hollow ataraxia VN
Ah, ok, I remember Bazett now! Again, that's cool that so many of these characters end up as Servants in FGO.

I really wanted Voyager and missed him when he came, next time I will try again. I have so many itens to use still, to not even say apple but I am clearly no powergamer. I have more than 400 apples of all kinds, 25 grails, 45 lores, So if I wanted I could really well put lote more of servants at maximum level.

As for Caesar, he is an quick/crit offensive type servant, his two first skills helps others in the party, his first two skills nowadays need upgrades since they are too basic, but his last skill is targeteable and improves crit damage and stars generation, so if you pair him with skadi, he will be fantastic since she can improve his damage more and more.
Sadly, he is quite easy to kill since he has no defensive moves like Cursed Arm Hassan (which was one of my favorites early in game, I still remember how he tanked 3 gae bolg alternative without dying thanks to his dodges)

As for bazett, she is quite a special case and even more unique, you know pseudo servants right? Ishtar, Ereshikigal and so on, most of the time they are merged and the personality of the servant overwrites the vessel (this is the case of Muramasa, who is an old man using shirou's body). But in Bazett case, there isn't like that. Her first two ascensions is the bazett and the last ascencion is the god using her body, changing the way she dresses and her moves) So if you like a specific bit, you can change however you want. I am not sure they did it because it was her and she could go on against servants on her own (in a way like Taiga wouldn't), or they will use this approach with the next pseudos going forward.
Right now what I really want for the game is for them to replay some events from the time I stopped playing, not having Nightingale really hurts, since I always liked her character but always failed to get her. The latest welfare servants did not captivate me as much (I managed to get the Meltlilith summer in the latest one, who is kinda like her son welfare foreigner

I've bounced around a few mobages since it helps fill the commute time and currently I've been on Shining Nikki and the new Yumekuro sequel/reboot. Here are my brief thoughts on the two:
Shining Nikki - Probably one of the best dress up games in terms of how high quality the 3d models are. Very casual and fairly f2p friendly, though they sped up the banners for the global server to people's chagrin. They also have a nail salon which I've ashamedly spent probably too much time in.

Yumekuro - Basically Princess Connect but for girls. The art is much improved over the previous game and you can even unlock live 3d CGs. The production quality is probably one of the highest I've seen for an otome gacha. However, they are stingy with stamina and it's hard to max event rewards without rolling for event units.

I've got a tablet that I'm underutilizing for games. What is this Nikki series I've heard you gorls talk so much about?
Pls explain basic game. You dress up your character and buy/unlock different outfits? Thanks.

Does anyone have a list of all the digital-only otome switch games,? I have most of the ones that have English physical copies (and I prefer physical whenever possible) except for a couple Japanese imports with English options that I will get after I finish some of the games I already have. I have found one that has a lot of them, but it hasn't been updated since mid 2021. I am trying to make a purchasing plan for some of them. I suppose I have time until the Switch eshop closes which is going to be a while based on when the Wii, 3DS, and Wii U closed/are closing

Meanwhile, I am on Shiraishi's route which is my second to last route. I decided to finish up CxM before moving onto Olympia Soiree. I don't know if I am just stupid, but it is kind of hard to follow some of the mystery plots in the routes at times, especially when it comes to keeping up with all of the characters (because there are a lot of characters and suspects to keep up with), I admit, I am not usually a murder mystery type person, but a lot of people I know have been talking a lot about CxM and say it is one of the essentials for otome switch games. So far I have been enjoying it despite it being hard to keep up with all of the minor characters

Yeah the entire gist of it is making outfits and taking photos of it in-game. There's limited banners on which you can use a certain currency to "roll" for pieces of an outfit. On top of that, outfit sets usually come with a designer "reflection" which you can level up to unlock an alternate color way.
Apart from the banners, there's outfits you can get via crafting by grinding certain stages or grinding "investigations". They are also pretty generous with free outfits as well. You can get those by playing daily as well. This video has an overview of most of the outfits out so far.

Also one word of advice regarding the titles from Voltage: a lot of thier games have a shit ton of dlc add on stories. And some are kinda expensive.

I'll recommend Pub encounter as its something a bit different, all the guys are older men.

So yeah I've come to the conclusion that while Rune factory 5 isn't exactly the prettiest game on the switch and it weirdly lags out whenever you exit a house, the gameplay loop is like digital crack if you're into that sort of formula.

I keep finding myself in a "Just one more ingame day" loop and then I realise I should start making dinner or go to bed already. My only consistent complaint is that the noises and phrases your character makes while doing farm chores can get grating and you can't turn those off without turning off the voices in general.
