I can see the hair but everything else is meh
Hence why I call her the Hutao/Yixuan looking girl. It's like a Hutao impersonator tried to cosplay as Yixuan but gave up halfway through.

Or Hutao and Yixuan decided to breed, then threw some furry shit in there.
Billion-dollar company btw.
Idk man, the ZZZ team seems to be run by a gaggle of headless chicken who don't know what to do with their own game.

Edit:

I am now the proud owner of Cyrene.exe, here to make her a real boy. It also means I can now bench memoryblazer.

Might be the same person I see on r9k. In my constant need for attention and to make people unreasonably angry, I frequent there and Jeetpost. Every now and then I'll see who people refer to as "Hutaonon" opening up hugbox threads
I don't know, all I know is it was like maybe a few short years back and my friend was screensharing me the guy's 300 post twitter tirade about hu tao that was only one of like 500 others. somewhere along the way we found out the guy was really young too like 18-19 and we were like "this kid is fucking cooked he's done for he never had a chance holy shit"

Guy posted like a 40 year old degen furfag about a fucking fictional coffin salesman woman.

EDIT: I misremembered, it was before twitter forced you to have an account to join so I manually read through them lmao

I also was the one who brought the fucker up in the thread

On ZZZ dying again, I think the decision to remove TV gameplay didn't help the game and probably hurt it. The revenue in the few patches it was around has been higher than the most recent months, so its clear that removing it didn't help. All they did was alienate people that actually liked it, and the people that left probably didn't jive with the game anyway. Now they have less revenue and are making larger explorable areas that will just take up more time and resources. Also, I think the new story doesn't help. The story of being a Proxy in the city works better than larping as a monk in NOT Hong Kong. The developers have at least acknowledged this one so wouldn't be surprise if they course correct when the idols come out.

I'd say they should at least experiment with bringing it back. It would at least be cheaper to develop, allows you to make side events cheaper, and commissions like before would at least increase play time. Right now, I don't see the current set up working. Maybe Ye's big tits will prove me wrong.

Given that Season 3 will have us helping out Pubsec and going back to Janus quarter, this story was most likely just a training arc. Because Belle and Wise are the protags who can't actually fight- so first we have to become used to Ether. Then we do combat training and by the end of this- boom. We can now roll for ourselves... wait that's not right. We can just start absorbing element types or whatever. Ye's big tits aside, I'm hoping we get Zhu Yuan's ass again because it'll be more screen time for the only not autistic person in the game and political ass kissing for the government. "See? Even the police are super cool good guys!"

I wasn't a fan of it, but that's because it was poorly implemented. I really don't understand what possessed them to completely remove it instead of tweaking it... As for the story, I really liked the urban and "retro" futuristic setting, but as they started to add supernatural elements, they also began to lose me. They lost me completely by the time when we found out we could do shit with Ether (Vivian didn't help either). By the time the ching chong came around, it was too much.

We will be given all element types, but we'll be absolutely ass playstyle-wise to invite us into pulling on the next big titty replacement waifu.

And then we will no longer be proxy, we will be "mystic", It's important to note that through the entirety of 2.2, we constantly called ourselves "Mystics" so proxy is out, mystic is in!

Agreed to everything. I still can't wrap my head around the stupid ass Jesus moment we had. Like what the fuck was that? Miyabi, you were ground zero for something truly awful. I was sort of fine with Miyabi, even if it was kinda out of left field, because it wasn't over-explained, and it was just there.

But then it just went overboard lately. And what's the magic bullshit explanation for Hutao/Yixuan looking girl gonna be for her super albino form? Probably not the same explanation for Evil Manato in 2.3.

I know it's just a game, honestly but I really liked ZZZ's vibes in the 1.X days, and I am just disappointed with what the game has turned into now.

Anyway, complaining about ZZZ aside, MHY did some Pokémon Honkai Version updates....as in a tiny artstyle update. They said they will release more.

TVs will be hard to bring back considering the whole point of 2.0 was to ensure the heroes will never need to use TVs again.

But the problem with TVs isn't as simple "it was bad and we took out so there is nothing to complain about". I don't think people are missing TVs as much as the original premise and having something unique to do beyond fighting, cause when all you do is fight, you have nothing to distract your from how everything else in ZZZ is mediocre to bad.

Devs must have thought "casuals like open world, make it open world" but it's not really open world and the game was built for small arenas so now you have bad fake bad exploration and the game runs bad.

A good story could save it but it does not have a good story because they're making shit along the way and improvising. It has to introduce two new 5* every patch and give them the spotlight meaning you get nonsensical "monster of the week" villain and is no time to build hype and they disappear after that patch.

The combat is good sure but they broke the emergency glass so hard with Miyabi that it's balance inspires no confidence and keeps getting worse. I heard they keep buffing anomaly resist in endgame to counter miyabi but it's never enough and it can't be enough because they have to balance the game around her being the best now.

So instead they make up new mechanics that only new characters can counter (miasma?) and new supports that buff those characters but not miyabi, except hoyo players are too savvy by this point and know the new shill will only last 1-2 patches. Why roll a dps that isn't void hunter or "void hunter level"? How to trust this support won't be powercrept after 6 months? Will this unit will counter this boss for one patch and be useless after it? Why bother?

Then you have tweets like this lol

1764711648980.png

(apparently the new stunner Dialyn powercreeps every previous one and can replace them in their niche)

Not that genshin and HSR don't have creativity and balancing woes (i fucking hate lunar reactions what a waste of space) but they have other things worth caring beyond unit power levels. Hell there are probably people who only play miliastra and don't touch genshin at all.

The world was interesting but they gave up and now it's CHINA and wuxia and there is magic and they must assume the players don't give a fuck and only want reasons to goon. Shut up about mecha, here is a foot waifu, you must goon and consume. Lets bring the idol lolis that leaked, everyone likes lolis and idols right? The women are leaving, send the husbando bait but make sure they're doomed or it might offend china.

ZZZ lack of planning and gacha greeds combined with it's failed attempts to pander only serve to alienate it's own players over and over.

Words cannot express how much I hate the new Hollow design. I've bitched about it before, and I'll bitch about it again. I hate the new Hollow designs.

The characters and the game weren't built for this shit so IDK why they pivoted so hard.

It also makes the stages ungodly long. Aside from the shit story and the Wuxia vomit and the magic bullshit, the hollows are what made me quit.

It's a shame becuase the base gameplay, that being the combat, is quite fun.

This is the exact same problem Silver and Blood has. Finally, some time to vent.

Meet Timeless Aiona.
1764717725387.png
She's an Ancestral Vassal. Ancestrals in SaB are akin to Pilgrims in Nikke, some of strongest and rarer characters in the game. In fact, SaB follows the exact same progression system of Nikke. However, just because your vassal is an Ancestral, it doesn't mean they're busted. Not T. Aiona! PvE? Amazing for any deficit. PvP? A pain in the ass to counter. Bossing? Lol. She's goated.

But uh, oh, she's way too busted... How do we counter this? Lets introduce different mechanics to gimp her. T. Aiona casts a shield on herself at the beginning of battle, and it's strong. Now, we have piercing units that eat her shield, PvP and bosses have debuffs that severely affect her, sometimes rendering her useless. Not only that but there's a new mechanic call synergy which the newest vassals have. We also got harder bosses to tackle that give better rewards, but those bosses are literally there for the synergy teams. Without them, you can't beat them. Guess who doesn't have synergy (yet)? Why, T. Aiona of course. You can probably beat the first and maaaaybe second floors. The rest? Lol, lmao even.

You joke, but that was the biggest concern with the change of direction. I think most people are in agreement Belle and Wise should never actually fight and I wouldn't be shocked if the only thing that kept them from doing that was people would have hated it.

On that same note, the problem Season 2 introduced was Hollows aren't interesting anymore. Before, there was some danger to them. If the protags fell in, they could easily die. It also added some tension when characters went into one. Now, who cares. People can walk in and out of them no problem. They are no longer this unique maze but just a place monsters spawn. And I agree with the supernatural stuff. I think it would be OK if it was just the swords but they seem to have it creep in everywhere. Really the vibes of the game are all off.
Pretty much this. Its clear the game was built around it and it allowed the combat to be a bit simpler since it wasn't the only thing you were doing. Not to mention there are enough gacha games now that are 3D action combat simulators. TVs at least made the game stand out and, like mentioned before, made Hollows more interesting since they could be abstract mazes (and elevated Belle and Wise since they could navigate them even if they weren't fighters). I think having another gameplay mode helps people who don't want to be sweat lords. TV modes could at least be easier or have puzzle based missions to mix up gameplay. Now everything is fight fight fight and the only content is end game or the tower. You have to learn all the bosses and roll for the newest character to compete.

Even a game like Umamusume, which has actually PvP, knows that you need something other than just sweat content, which is why they put a lot of work into the campaigns for each Uma and make it so you can run them multiple times for the best results. ZZZ really only has a (now subpar) story and then just grind end game or events. I wouldn't be surprised if people just jumped ship due to a burn out.

Also fuck Miasma. They need to just be done with it at this point (both story and gameplay)

Regardless of ZZZ's issues, we have been seeing warning signs for the past couple years that the gacha market has stopped growing and has hit its saturation point with Genshin, HSR, and LADS. The women who want sexy stuff are satisfied by LADS, and Genshin and HSR have sucked up most of the rest of the market. WuWa and ZZZ came out after and are fighting for Genshin and HSR's leftovers. Arknights Endfield is launching in two months and I think it's already extremely similar to WuWa and ZZZ in its focus on scantily clad young busty anime women, so I don't think it's going to do much better than those two let alone materialize another customer base on the same level as HSR and Genshin out of thin air. I expect the twenty other Chinese gachas in development will come out and die one after another. It does seem odd that Mihoyo is making Honkai Nexus Anima as their fourth (fifth? sixth?) gacha given the current market. Maybe they think they're going to get little kids or women who like Pokemon but don't like LADS or fantasy RPGs.

ZZZ has a multiplayer co-op mode in development that might come in patch 2.5. That would widen ZZZ's appeal if you could play with friends but this is something that should have been in from the get go when most people were still checking out ZZZ and deciding whether to take it or leave it.
I am guilty of supporting the genre, but it really needs to be culled off massively. A lot of good games aren't made because the devs want to gamble on being the next Genshin rather than release a game that will probably sell well on its own and won't be an endless nightmare of crowd chasing, balance patches and retarded controversies.

Fate GO and Granblue basically killed JRPGs.

I got durin (i was on guarantee but still had to hit soft pity ouch...) and 4 jahodas in around 60 rolls, very nice. He's 80/80 1-7-7- for now and i didnt farm for him cause he has no set so he's holding 2pc scraps but i'll try to make a review later.

One thing i'll say for free tho, his combat lines are terrible. Apparently his VA is Laurie Kynaston.

I don't know if it's direction or not but this man cannot do battle cries and for some reason he tries to do cries in every skill and burst voice line. It's weak, nasal and constipated. I have never cared about sub x dub debate but this is the first time i played a genshin character that made me go "holy shit why is this so awful wtf did they hire this guy from vocaroo or something".

Another terrible thing is how ALL his combat lines have

1-The exact same cadence.

Staaaaaay BACK! Leave it to ME! ssssssUNDER! Devouriiing ClAaAw! (bro talks like those characters from ps1 jrpgs casting spells),

The story has only just.... beGUN! DECAY... NEEEEW LIFE! "A TURNING POINT. IN. FATE." STAAAY... AWAY FROM ME! THE ABYSSES BURRRRNING... SHADOW! *breathes in* A LAMENT... for the END!

2-His skill lines are cut by the burst and his burst voice lines are much longer than his animations and you will cut them by swaping him out every time. Durin has SIX burst lines and all of them do this.

The story has only just -*swap*
A TURNING POINT *swap*
THE ABYSSES BURRRRRRN *swap*
A LAMENT... FOR *swap*

I cannot comprehend how this passed hoyo's quality control. Even escoffier, whose accent is inconsistent in her quest, has unnecessarily great combat cries.

This is a british voice actor who never did anime forcing constrained cries in a murican accent and i feel like we finally reached he consequences of the VA strike where hoyo is too scared of touching american VAs.

I got two Jahodas and decided to hold off on hitting pity for Durin. He looks extremely versatile and if he ends up enabling a lot of fun teams then I'll try for him. Otherwise I'm not sold on him as a character outside of meta potential.

It does seem odd that Mihoyo is making Honkai Nexus Anima as their fourth (fifth? sixth?) gacha
One of their oldest gacha games, Girls GunZ was pretty much EOS'd. They have other games of the same age (Tears of Themis, Honkai Impact 3rd) but after the latter's disastrous 2nd Chapter update and ToT's pseudo-maintenance mode (made more obvious because Genshin is their cashcow), it seems that its more of when will those two die.

A game company that is heavily reliant on live service games is mostly going to end up with at least 1 surviving GaaS game or at least 1 game that they consider to be their darling. Valve has DOTA 2 (might be replaced with Deadlock assuming they even finish past the alpha), Wargaming has World of Tanks, Mihoyo has Genshin. Any other live service game from their catalog will be relegated to the 2nd wheel (Counter-Strike 2, World of Warships and Honkai Star Rail respectively), and if they have a third GaaS game, it will most likely be niche but with a dedicated community (World of Warplanes), mismanaged (Team Fortress 2) or both (Zenless Zone Zero). If they have a fourth, it will definitely fail (Valve has Artifact and DOTA Underworlds, Wargaming has Steel Hunters, no doubt Mihoyo will have a forewarning of this if they continue their online-only gachaslop).

Because as it turns out, humans have a limited attention span, and an even more limited range of time to play, so slapping live service all over the industry (no less a gacha game) is 9/10 going to create an ugly bubble with a large graveyard of dead games. The asian gaming market is going to have a rude awakening of reality once they realize "oh shit, prices of everything in general has gone up, and these games require not just our time but our money, sorry we have lives to focus on".
