Quick derail: David Hayter is a one-trick pony: just watch the NoClip documentary on Soul Reaver and listen to his audition "performance" as Raziel. It sounds exactly like Solid Snake. He doesn't even try to make Raziel sound different.

The main cast of DBZ (Sean, Chris, Monica) are just the absolute worst fucking people, the biggest examples of "pulling up the ladder" in the VA industry. And it's so easily seen because they just can't help themselves from being the biggest cunts alive, like the whole Vic thing. Every single one of those fuckers threw him under the bus the instant being his friend stopped being profitable or good for optics

I don't play Genshin but I do play ZZZ (another Hoyo game) and it's the former. Their already recorded lines are still available, they're just silent for new content.

The only time I've seen a character "silenced" (ALL voicelines removed, completely silent) is when a JP VA for Arknights was recast due to the VA visiting the Yasukuni shrine, and the character was silent for months until a replacement was found.

So it's just IdeaFactory dubbing at that point. Like the English dub only being half the size of the original Japanese audio files.

There's some new Genshit fandom discourse this week. Apparently an upcoming character got teased who is notable for being slightly chubbier than any other model in the game. Naturally, her lore is that she is a competitive eater, and also designed to resemble a cow, and also, her combat abilities are her sitting on and crushing enemies.

I know the post was froma a while back now, but the characters out now. Some of these types got mad over the character not being fat enough which is funny but it's even funnier if you look at the character model she's not fat, just has thicker legs and baggy socks that make them look even larger. THIS IS FORESHADOWING A LATER POINT. KEEP THE LEGS IN MIND HERE.

I somehow completely missed out on this until saw obese black vitiligo troon art of the character a few weeks back and didn't realize it was a genshin character initially because haven't been following info on updates for shit too closely till they come out, and the characters outfit seems pretty off overall compared to most genshin characters. So I got on the game a few days ago and the character was out, as well as their story quest thing. I demo new characters when they come out almost immediately because I like seeing the kinds of movesets they come up with for them and I wasn't sure what the fuck "pink hair woman with cow horns from mexico luchadore themed electro element tribe that doesn't really have the same styling of regional outfit as the rest of the people from that place" was gonna have moveset wise.

She's literally just sonic the fucking hedgehog.
Apparently other people also noticed this and just looking up the character's name and "sonic" brings up memes like this.

The elemental power button makes her do the modern sonic boost with the classic sonic sipnny legs, her charge attack is the fucking bounce bracelet attack from SA2. This is a character that runs, and runs a lot. That's not fat on the legs, it's muscle. I say this because going back to the eating thing, the lore is literally that the eating competition at the tribe started because the authorities thought she was secretly sneaking other people into the fighting tournament. Turns out she's got a nightmarishly high metabolism to the point where f she doesn't eat enough she starts having health issues and has had it since childhood. Basically, too active to get fat, too genetically fucked up to go without eating.

I got a feeling because of how fucked up people are online these days the people making the game put those explanations n specifically to try to get them to fuck off, but that's clearly never gonna happen.
I don't really care for the character too much, a little way too out of place anime for my tastes, though they've clearly put effort into the animations and promo trailers I apparently missed the existence of. I found the sonic shit funny enough though that I used my rng roll shit for them and unlocked them (with 0 IRL money spent by the way) and it's the most fun I've had just fucking around in a game overworld since because you can just go full sonic autism gameplay rhythm if you time your hits right.

From what I can see, most people either condemn the threats against the new voice actor or just want all the voice actors to shut the fuck up and stay in their lane for once.
