These people are actually psychotic. It makes me so happy that the public is not behind these people.

I think at this rate, they are en route at mach speed to fully blackball themselves from their own industry.

Good job, you SAG FAGs.

I'm getting flashbacks of Amanda Winn Lee's Ukraine take. I'm betting on Valeria being the fuse that ignites, she seems like the kind of psycho that will get cut out of any sane voice actor's clique. Whatever insane circle of friends her and Corina have going on only validates my intuition that actors who play annoying characters are even more annoying in real life.

I find it interesting how the direction really isn't going for the voice actors' or the union's favor anymore even among the average person. From what I can see, most people either condemn the threats against the new voice actor or just want all the voice actors to shut the fuck up and stay in their lane for once. In a way, it's pretty uplifting to see even them being tired of this shit that permeates the EN VA industry.

And that's not mentioning the fact they are purposely omitting some details within the agreement which would sack all the non-union VAs if they were to sign it. This last one along with the bullying, and the lack of professionalism have very much turned people against the strike, and union because surprise, fucking surprise. People don't like being lied to, and being fed half-truths.

Yeah, I think that makes me even more annoyed with Khoi Dao's statement on the matter even more so than any of the others I've seen so far. His is the one that's most blatantly trying to paint it as a Good Thing™ and omitting just the magnitude of how much it would screw over the non-union and especially non-burgerland voice actors with a wholesome facade to go along with it.

How likely is it that this retarded behaviour will have any consequences for those VAs? In any other business, if you behave that unprofessional on an account in your full name + where you're working, you'd get the boot, especially since there seem to be some repeated offenders like Sucrose's VA. It just looks really bad, these people behave like teenagers and not working adults. Are they really going to get away with their endless screeching and insulting Hoyo?

Given how many times paimon's VA has pulled some shit or lied about stuff and not gotten fired I'd say they're pretty leniant/don't care unless things get REALLY BAD. Then again once more they use middlemen companies for their VA casting.

It's absolutely hilarious how hard sag faggots are fucking up. Reddit, the biggest cesspool of leftists who should be pro union, shitting on them. All they needed to shut up.

Someone on the subreddit brought up this interview where at around the 3:38 and 6:40 mark, Chris Tergliafera, voice actor of Capitano, mentions that he had no idea he was auditioning for Genshin until later on since it was under a codename and Hoyo was vague with the details. He also mentions that it isn't an uncommon thing in the industry.

I'm not sitting through all of Zack's interviews about it just to find the other times it's mentioned, but the comments in the thread support the idea that Jacob and the other Genshin VAs got similar treatment, although Jacob mentioning the old VA in the announcement kind of puts holes in it admittedly. Yet they're dogpiling on him like he maliciously swooped in and "stole" the role anyways.

Anairis Quiñones (Lynette's Voice Actress) made a statement as well. (Archive)
It was then followed up by SAG-AFTRA themselves quote-retweeting it with their own unprofessional-sounding reply. (Archive)
As of writing, both have the same community note attached to them.

Replies are mostly negative. There are a few defenders stating things such as "SAG-AFTRA is non-profit" and "This whole thing is full of misinformation", but they're hardly getting much traction compared to the others.

And to make things worse. Corina Boettger decided to crash out on tiktok, and people got an archive of it.

I always knew that Corina was pretty nutty but this is absolutely hilarious.

"If the voice actors say it should go union, it should! No one else's opinion matters!"
A video game can still work without its voice actors, a very large percentage of games don't have any voice acting whatsoever. So saying that only voice actors' opinions matter on this subject is laughable. And it's also only the ones you like, because I'm sure if any colleagues had differing opinions or if they were in Jacob Takanashi's shoes, you'd be screeching at them, too.

Also, many English-speaking players have switched over to the other voice overs due to the annoyance of many English voices being absent. Even before this, a pretty sizeable portion of the playerbase actively plays in and prefers the Japanese voice over. So Hoyoverse can keep doing whatever they're doing and it truly doesn't matter. It's not a loss on their part because, as proven time and time again in this thread, no boycotter is actually serious about boycotting them game. They weren't serious about it when they didn't get their anniversary awards. They weren't serious about it when Sumeru/Natlan came out and the characters weren't black. And they definitely wouldn't be serious about it over voice actor drama. The fact that fans on Reddit is already sick of it when they'd usually be the ones screeching about it is telling enough as it is.

They look like a downy. I refuse to address them as a woman.
While you're not wrong, Corina's a nonbinary troon. She'd actively want you to refer to her as not a woman.

I might be very wrong here but I think the Chinese fans sperged out about that one and they got something more compensating.

Which is to say as has been stated numerous times in this thread, MHY only gives a shit when their Chinese audience freak the fuck out.

If I recall, in Genshin, there have only been 3 times a sperg-out has netted a positive/compensation/reaction from MiHoYo.

1: Zhongli post release - he got buffed because they were mad that China Incarnate wasn't strong enough. Don't remember the compensation besides buffed him AFTER he released which is a controversial move in gacha. (CN)

2: 1st Anni - it was a world wide sperg-out. Resulting in an extra 10 wish present for the 1st anniversary event. (CN + Global)

3: Neuvillette "bug fix" that happened a year after his launch, which no one thought was a bug and the fix was a nerf, they reverted it and gave out compensation. Think it was 300 primogems, which is 2 rolls. (CN + Global)

I believe the one you're referring to was the Honkai Impact Bunny Girl incident. A video was posted to celebrate GL's anniversary of the girls dancing in bunny outfits. Chinese players felt like they were being cucked out of their waifus and sperged hard that time to the point of death threats, causing the video to be removed and compensation to be given. The compensation in CN was larger than the one for GL despite GL being the one that lost content as a result.

While that whole affair was pretty retarded, I do think that it can be a good thing at times that Hoyoverse ignores the EN side's spergouts since most of them consist of inconsequential bullshit that no one other than the chronically online care about like how Sumeru/Natlan (Genshin) or Rappa (HSR) aren't nigs and then they get over it anyway like @SWETHORT said.

Can't believe I have to give the Genshin community of all fandoms a W.

I've been wanting English dub VAs to get reamed for their abhorrent behavior over the years and it's such a breath of fresh air seeing so many people telling them to stay in their lane.
