So long story short, the voice actor for Kinich got their voice replaced (archive) by another actor (acrhive). What makes it funny is that this for some reason, ZZZ’s Von Lycaon’s (aka the furry bait) actor being replaced didn’t set off as much of a reaction as what’s going on now.

I’ve seen dozens of tweets from small times VAs who thought HoYoverse would just keep the character silent which they’ve done before. It sounds like the Chinese have reached a breaking point as this new English actor is based in Japan, which bypasses all the SAG-AFRA guildfags who don’t get the point: the Chinese don’t give a fuck about your AI voice concerns. You ether do your job or fuck off and we’ll just replace you.

I liked the Fontaine section of the commercial event last patch where the joke is Navia spamming persuasion. The Liyue commercial's joke was Shenhe's VA was reading her lines dryly because she doesn't know how to act while everyone else reads their lines in their best customer service voice.

I rewatched them in EN and most of them were silent. Literally ruins what little value the short filler event has in one language. Fuck the EN fags.

Edit: This is my first time learning about the VAs harassing the new EN Kinich and I am genuinely surprised the official subreddit is somehow siding against the VAs for this one. I thought reddit just auto huffs whatever farts the VAs are virtue signalling about.

TLDR:

Original Kinich EN VA (who IS NOT in a union) strikes in solidarity with the SAG actors. (Dumb and retarded)

Months go by, still refusing to work or come to any agreement with the agency Mihoyo uses for voice recording.

Because of the OG refusing to work, despite being able to and not officially protected by a union, they hire a new guy (who does not in live the US, cannot join SAG or be protected by US union laws if he even wanted to).

SAG associated actors lose their fucking SHIT. (Side bar, Paimon's VA is going ballistic even though she is STILL working and collecting a cheque despite being SAG associated, lol, lmao.)

I think it's insane they expect VAs who are not in America or don't have the benefit of a Union protecting them to just....stop working? These people have bills to pay and families to care for, what are they supposed to do? Flip burgers because SAG (who these non-union/non-US actors are not associated with) is unwilling to negotiate?

Meaning, actors at this point are just choosing to be angry over nothing then actually going back to going their job. It's also amusing to note how quick Sound Candence was to replace actors, between Kinich, Soldier 11, and Von Lycaon's actors, the ladder two have still not been named publically out of fear of being ridiculed.

My favorite clip of him is say erm actually I didn't do any cigarette for the voice of snake and someone told me they started smoking because of snakes voice which just makes him sound even faggyier he should have just said I drop a carton everyday to sound like snake and no one would have been the wiser.

hayter's replacement was worse, more expensive in every conceivable way, and didn't have the fan connection to the character hayter has had for over a decade, since at least twin snakes.

pretty faggy to compare a guy who loved a role and was replaced because of a Dev's love of Hollywood actors over the actual quality work being done by the VA to the people who choose not to work because their union demands more money. hell, mgs1 was a scalped job, that's why the PS1 game has everyone except I believe Doug stone (psycho mantis) credited under pseudonyms.

It's amazing how bad the VA boogaloo is for the U.S Hoyo games.
For Star Rail, half the fucking ENG cast is muted because there's no VA.
I normally play in JP for both so I had to check how bad it really is.
