Is any modern wrestling watchable? I heard WWE was better once Vince left but it's still the same slop I've hated every time I've tried to dip in. 3 hours of women botching and vanilla midgets competing for drag queen of the year.
WWE's booking has been a less bad, but they still work The WWE Match

A new report from Bloomberg Law indicates that WWE and Vince McMahon are being sued.

The nature of the lawsuit relates to ‘racist’ script content, that a black writer named, Britney Abrahams opposed to.

The report states:

“World Wrestling Entertainment Inc., Vince McMahon, and other executives allegedly discriminated and retaliated against a Black female writer for objecting to “offensively racist and stereotypical jargon” used in the scripts of Black wrestlers including Bianca Belair and Apollo Crews, according to a new lawsuit. She was allegedly subject to a number of racist pitches after complaining. On a Slack thread that McMahon and his daughter Stephanie McMahon were included on, other writers suggested a Black male wrestler should dress in drag. Only when a White writer noted that doing so could “perpetuate harmful stereotypes that would offend viewers” was the pitch scrapped”.

“On another occasion, a writer allegedly proposed that a Muslim’s wrestler’s secret in a script be that he was “behind the 9/11 attacks. Abrahams and other writers complained about the comments, to which Vice President Christine Lubrano allegedly responded, “Wacky things are said in the writer’s room all the time!” and “I know but look at the waves we’re making in the company. 4 years ago, no woman worked on the writer’s team! Abrahams continued to opposed racist, sexist pitches, she said, and was fired in retaliation in April 2022. WWE fired her for taking with her a WrestleMania 38 branded chair, but the practice was allegedly a common practice that White male writers weren’t punished for”.
Old news

Rather odd that Vince wasn't with them Ari Emanuel basically told him to know his role in the company and that was to help with the TV deals, not touch Creative. I wonder if they're upset with Vince selling hundreds of millions of dollars in shares they had to scramble to buy with no notice.
NJPW has fun matches but the story lines are hard to follow for a non-weeb. The bald/corn row heel was a lot of fun to watch.
NJPW isn't known for their storylines anyways. If you want story, find AJPW. A lot of the story will be told in the ring.

Didn't we still get Bobby Lashley's sisters?

You mean not sawdusting themselves like retards on free tv?
They still do that. Drew McIntyre keeps jumping the top rope every time he wrestles. Why do indie risky stuff when the most popular wrestlers of all time have always been brawlers? Austin, Hogan, Rock are all brawlers and barely used the top rope. You don't need to be a spot monkey if you can tell a story and cut a decent promo

So TKO's new COO Mark Shapiro did a conference call recently and I wanna quote a bit from the transcript:
“Until we get over a billion in sponsorship, I won’t be happy. We should be playing where the NBA and the NFL are playing. It’s been an incredible journey. It’s been a fast journey, but there’s an enormous upside, both in inventory, categories, and to your point, renewal and pricing. WWE, you know, was, as my CFO likes to put it, it was religion for Vince. He just didn’t want to commercialize the venue for the most part. The mat was clean, you know, the ropes were clean. There just wasn’t a lot of signage or activation because advertisers don’t just want to put their banner up there anymore. They want activation. We specialize in that at UFC and we’re going to bring that same strategy to the WWE and there are no rules. We’re gonna take the right opportunity to make sure brands from all walks, shapes and sizes get the kind of exposure they’re looking for when it comes to our audience. Which is at the WWE specifically, very diverse, 40% female and heavy family. … We won’t be walking into many advertisers or categories where we aren’t pitching both [UFC & WWE].”
To give you an idea how bad this shit is gonna look, this is what the average UFC octagon looks like these days:

I can't wait til they start trying to slap even more advertisements on the wrestlers themselves lel.

The actual matches are the only thing I like about WWE. Beyond that, waaaay too much chit chat and silly skits. There can be a balance between the two. IMO, the balance tipped during NWO era WCW, when they allowed Nash, Hogan and the rest to stand in the ring and ramble on like mongs for 15/20 minutes at a time.

PWInsider.com can confirm that this past Monday morning TKO's Marc Shapiro as well as WWE's Nick Khan and Paul Levesque were in NYC at the Warner Bros. Discovery headquarters meeting with WBD executive Bruce Campbell about potentially moving Raw to the WBD family.

AEW is fucked.

Hail to the King, baby.

Should note that AEW might not be totally fucked.

One rumor floating around is that Discovery wants BOTH shows; under the logic that they want Discovery/TNT-TBS to become a major hub for wrestling and that having two feds (Raw and AEW programming) will generate a much needed steady stream of income for Discovery. So a Discovery deal for Raw may hinge on Hunter/Endeavor allowing AEW to continue to survive on TBS/TNT and maybe even working together on some super-cards down the line.

You're really reaching if that's your best example

Shut up, faggot.

you don't need the top rope to cripple yourself, Hogan had the leg drop do plenty of damage

I like ads in the ring. Makes it look a lot more like a legit sport.
Arena Mexico would have giant beer logo in the middle of the ring lots of times.

A invasion reboot would be retarded.

At least it's just Diverticulitis, if Brock could still wrestle it Kenny maybe able to do so to but he'd have to change up his style. Shane also has it but he got it late in life to and quite wrestling all together though so age may play a factor in this.
Shut up, faggot.
Actually Mirror may have a point now that Discovery is getting their own wrestling show called "Big Little Brawlers" (Didn't know the Russian singer was into wrestling)
They maybe going all in on Wrestling if NBA proves to be too expensive.

gonna call work until proven otherwise on kenny
I dunno - considering how by the end of his title run it would probably be faster to list everything he hadn't injured, I can see him having aggravated literally any body part and it putting him out of action again. Kenny's talented, but stubborn and stupid enough to wrestle despite being held together by duct tape and a prayer.

If it's a work, at least they picked the right person to use for said work, but I can honestly see it being legit.
