lol POE2 is not a woke game. while it's true that a lot of the NPCs are dark-skinned, it's because they're all from the same place (Vailia, a sort of french-african style merchant republic) and there are no pro-justice racial politics. you could argue that there's a somewhat anti-imperialist theme to the game since the aumaua (the aforementioned fish negroes, although they're more like tribal island natives) are struggling with the influx of Vailians who are trying to exploit the archipelago for resources. but it's commonly shown that whatever social or cultural friction might result from the greed of the Vailians is heavily offset by the benefits of trade. and the tribal island negroes are far from virtuous themselves, as they maintain a permanent slave caste that leaves the whole lower half of their capital city a morass of poverty and crime, and exacerbates the worst parts of the imported Vailian culture. in fact, I find the story of POE2 refreshing in that it puts all of these elements into a pot and manages to cook something very balanced and well-reasoned on the whole. there is one character whose story has a slight theme of being judged by their appearance - Pallegina - but it's not because she's brown (she's Vailian, so she's the same color as everyone else), or because she's oppressed (she's a Paladin of some renown in her order), or because she's poor (she lives pretty well since her order works for the merchant princes); it's because she has a bunch of feathers growing out of her fuckin head, and it freaks people out if they haven't seen it before:

it does, however, have party members who try to jump your bones without warning as soon as they decide they like you enough. but you can shut them down permanently the first time they mention it to you.

It's unfortunate but a stunt like that has a reasonable chance of getting you an automatic deviant gooner fanbase, because frankly that is most of what those types care about. it has kinda shitty jumpscare screamers yeah but the atmosphere and the plot overall is neat. I can't remember right now if the first 2 games (alan wake/American nightmare) have them right now but there's an interesting plot. The ones I remember from 2 right now were "in universe" as they're used to like showcase like the characters mental state kinda going fucky or certain other shit going on.

Wouldn't call the character designs "woke" int he usual sense. they have ELEMENTS in them that are kind of similar to the many hideous DEI corpo games but those emements also existed to a degree pre-DEI nightmare world where they became the only things ever and are used in a way that isn't forced. They managed to make the shitty sidecut with blue on it every other fucking female character has had the last several years actually look decent, which s something at least.

The timeline didn't line up it literally could not have happened, it's the Most infamous thing about the case. People that actually checked post history and public appearances of the bitch made memes about the claims due to this. People tried sending people evidence of this and they got shut down or ignored by the people throwing Alec under the bus. Actual fucking snakes. Calling them snakes would be a disservice to the literal animal though, so maybe something else more vulgar would fit here.

Attention only has "worth" if it eventually leads to revenue. In most cases attention of pirates may be followed by word of mouth that causes purchases, but in this thread, where all word of mouth is between people who are not at all interested in supporting the developers, and where all the games under discussion have already gone through their peak purchase wave, this point simply does not apply, unless someone here was a youtuber who just decided to make a "HIDDEN "WOKE" GEM?!" video due to this thread, which I highly doubt.

Disco Elysium doesn't portray any ideology in a good light. I would consider DE woke but in the best possible way. It's woke to the fact that capitalism, communism, fascism, and fence sitting are all shit and a means to control the actions of a bread dead substance abuser. Honestly the only "woke" shit that bothered me was censoring the word fag.

I thought that was part of the gameplay, with you needing a specific thought to banish the spooks from your mind – which would be great, if it were true. I can't find any confirmation that any specific thought brings all the pissfaggotry back instead of only a select few instances. It wouldn't be so bad, either, if they didn't retroactively censor the dialogue as well. Doesn't appear to be any mod to fix it other than voice restoration mods.

My bid: Sable. It's on the Sweet Baby Inc. shitlist, but I only noticed that it might have ties after I saw it on the list. You play a masked brown girl, who never takes the mask off. In a massive desert. Everyone is brown. It makes sense. They probably would've been brown before Sweet Baby (though playing Afrika Korps Explores The Wasteland would've been just as fun.) It's the closest a Sweet Baby-involved games to being subtle and, since the only thing the Sweet Baby vaxx can really affect is characters, and considering it's an environmental exploration game where everyone wears a mask and there's enough shaders to make fine detail impossible, that doesn't matter at all. Just ignore the dialogue.

dwarf fortress has to be my favorite single player game of all time but its lead devs went turbo SJW and are now planning to remove the options for players to go on total elf death and etc. i'd recommend playing the last classic version, it should be in a few lunix package managers as the most up to date one (unless they update that too)
 
When talking about games being woke, I see it as a spectrum (:christine:) and the tolerance one has to it. Stardew Valley is woke since it allows same sex relationships and has race mixing, but it's also so much of a sandbox that the faggotry would be invisible if you just played it "normally".

Stardew basically I played without issue since I gave 0 shits about the men in town, got hitched to Penny and grew my crops. I definitely could have played it a lot more, but I have good memories of my time with it.

Celeste was a very good game mechanically, but the "MUH MENTALS" and the tranny rewritting history to make it also about "MUH TRANSITION!" on the other hand had me skipping cutscenes and being soured enough to not pursue the higher level challenges. So this one went beyond my threshold.

Then there games like Deltarune which should be beyond my threshold, but I enjoy the writting enough to give it a pass.

And then there's jap jank where something would have weird gender shit but be totally unrelated to western woke. Fucking femboys being the main offender here and while in the past I would humor it, today it can perfectly become a reason to tap out.

I mostly avoid western stuff in general, so that insulates me from most of woke though. So I guess Celeste is my biggest suggestion for a woke game assuming you can stomach or ignore the plot. Can't really think of anything else outside of the Toby Fox games...

Well, I also enjoyed Omori till the end shit itself, but I wouldn't particularly call that one woke (everyone is lilly white, no real faggotry either), though it's filled to the brim with "MUH MENTALS!"

I'm gonna add Cyberpunk 2077 (with phantom liberty expanssion) here even if it is a bit of a stretch. Some of the "woke" themes do fit on the game, namely Judy having the sideshave and talking about objectification at some point.

And also the one overtly troon character, Afterlife's bartender, behaves like a troon would, making a big deal about transition, having a troon flag on her car, and being a spiteful cunt if you don't bend over to her will in the last mission of her route despite telling her that you would not help her get revenge if it means losing a car race. She will literally remind you, aloud, every time you enter the bar, that "she" resents you.
