Far Cry 5 was never that. Woke journos saw the poster and got the info that it was set in rural United States and hyped up in their own minds that it would be a MAGA murder simulator.
Ubisoft writers and devs outright said far cry 5 has a pro-gun control message.

If your issue is just 'there are gays and blacks in the game,' I don't really think that's a woke thing.
It definitely can be a woke thing, I don't wanna regurgitate how and why, but it basically boils down to intent, which is easy to discern in 99% of cases.

The dumbest part of Hi-Fi Rush was how in the ending, they suddenly implied a relationship between the main female sidekick (the obligatory brown punk rock chick with a sideshave) who was clearly being set up as the MC's love interest, and another one of your female companions whom she hardly interacted with throughout the whole game.
It came completely out of left field, it honestly felt like they just needed to check a box for BlackRock money or something.
I retract my comment, fuck that woke game and I'm glad the company was burned down.

AI: The Somnium Files. Fucking incredible game in just about every facet. The best dub I have ever heard as well. Unironically in my top 10 games of all time list. The sequel is disappointing and not nearly as good but still worth playing.

Both the Hellblade games, even if calling the second one a "game" is being very charitable. I never really got why they're considered woke in the first place. They don't portray mental illness as a good thing and really make it clear how awful having schizophrenia is. Despite the main character being a female she is actually well written and not a girlboss. The second game has you outright teaming up with and forgiving a slave driver to kill a guy who is using a made up impending apocalypse to justify human sacrifices. The soundtrack is also by a band with known ties to European nationalist parties. Also I don't remember seeing a single non-white in either of the games.

As games they're pretty mechanically shallow but the sound design, atmosphere, story, and spectacle make them fun short one and dones imo. Also the soundtrack for both the games are great.

This is complete bullshit, and even if you believed it, you would be saying that giving it your attention is worse than paying for it, because attention is worth more than money.
I'm saying that pirating it is the same as buying it because of side effects. You download a torrent and talk intimately about its contents, that's giving credence that others should get it, and others will go through legal paid channels to do so. Most people still buy their games and word of mouth is powerful.

How come Concord was not a breakaway success in that case?

Your attention isn't worth more than money to Sony.
I'd argue that it didn't get a chance to fail. Being given up on in eight days, no one can torrent it to create the knock-on effect, but Sony doesn't need your money anyway. Its investors are willing to throw money into a pit for the promise of social change.

For all the guntguarding of Disco shit you silly fucks are forgetting how the only way to fix The Pale is through Communism. The head of ZA/UM would had been sucking off commies if not for a few other writers toning it down.
I would say that yes, the game does treat Communism a lot lighter than the other ideologies by presenting it as a fundamentally good concept that is subverted through malice and incompetence. But I don't think that only shitting on your own ideology to a medium degree instead of an insane degree is enough to call it woke shit. The fact that they were willing to say this is what they believe in, but they know it would never work in practice is a lot more self reflection than some people are capable of.

you know something I think is important is how what can be considered woke is handled. for example, like in a RPG it wouldn't offend me if you could be a faggot or whatever because I'd never encounter it in the game. and I think in video games everyone should have the option to play as whoever they want in a game where you make specific choices and aren't just doing missions or going through levels. you can have bear fucking in the game, I don't care I'd never know because I'd never attempt to fuck a bear. Its when it's forced down your fucking throat. I don't even care if there is weird npcs who are tranny niggers or something, as long as that isn't their personality, and they feel the need to tell me that beyond a throwaway dialog tree choice that isn't mandatory.

its the same reason I bitch about faggot shit in star wars, they make a big deal out of it. I don't care that there's homos in space. the galaxy is vast there are probably horny dudes who fuck jar jar binks nobody would care you're fighting an intergalactic space war with thousands of races. it's not a personality to be a faggot. gay characters used to just be portrayed as people and that was a background element, that's fine. Its unnatural for someone's race or sexuality to define them entirely.

anyways my pick is A Hat in Time. fun little throwback platformer I played last month and got through the whole game and one of the dlc levels had a trans rights flag in it. it was better than I usually see that type of thing because humorously enough its in a dark alley high up in a city level in the shadows that unless you're a completionist like me or just got lost you might never see it. however it's huge and did make me mad I was like damn this is literally like the last level I have to 100% this game, and this is my reward? Finding homo shit?

I'd argue that A Hat in Time is better than Super Mario Odyssey in parts. Great game.

The company was brought back recently.
May it perish once more, inshallah.

People probably just assume it's woke, one glance at an angry tough woman in this era is enough for most people. Can't blame them.

i resent the notion that disco elyseum is woke. call it communist fine but dont lump it with straight shite like concord, baldurs gate 3 or the new dragon age. disco is legit.

yeah, it's fantastic. if it was as long/big as that game I would say it was better. It had awesome boss fights. I've known about it since it came out and just never got around to it until now, so I don't know how it was at launch considering it was mostly made by one guy then a team later on but it's mechanically polished as fuck. I wanted like 10 more levels the size of the sky village one. I just miss 3D platformers. we get mario once a console gen, and a couple sonics (if hallway races to the end really count as platforming) but not a hell of a lot else. I would kill for a new Spyro or a Jak 1 style sequel to those games or something. somebody just told me yesterday I'd like Demon's Turf and I looked it up and it seems like a game I would like but also has that type of quirky tumblr style at a quick glance that tells me I might hate everything not gameplay in it.

Pathologic/Pathologic 2. The woke crowd really love it because the main story centers around conflict around themes of the native tribal people and the modern society, and also there's a proletariat uprising.

The gameplay is also BAD. People keep trying to spin this as some kind of ludonarrative thing, because gamers do this every time a game they like is frustrating. But I think it wasn't intentional or meta.

Hbomberguy made a video essay about it and as a result that's how most people have heard of it.

However, the story and dialogue are very bizarre and interesting in an extremely unique way. It has some impressive world building, and rather than breaking the 4th wall, it kind of... Invites you to walk alongside the 4th wall with it together while you have a nice chat. Highly recommend.

That really spoiled my mood in the end of the game. God forbid the happy go lucky protagonist get some pussy for risking his life, maybe even have a love triangle. Got to have that lesbian gooning instead.

But then it wouldn't subvert expectations and cater to that all-important LGBTQ+ demo.

It's unfortunate but a stunt like that has a reasonable chance of getting you an automatic deviant gooner fanbase, because frankly that is most of what those types care about. Unfortunately, Twitter-obsessed marketing types and similar detritus legitimately think that gooner fanbases automatically translate to money.
