You all remember how last month fans of Blizzard's Overwatch got into a tizzy because some special snowflake complained about Tracer's butt and Blizzard removed the pose, agreeing that the pose didn't fit Tracer's personality? Well, the replacement pose has been revealed and I think Blizzard gets a gold-star for this trolling.

Something in the first post is kind of concerning:

Nintendo censored Xenoblade and Fire Emblem. Gamergate doesn't like that (full disclosure, I don't like censorship either).

Gamergate concludes that it must be that woman with the lady-parts who answers the internet phone that censored those games. Women with lady-parts never let Gamergaters enjoy lady-parts.

Alison: "Shut up you guys, I'm on your side here. I don't make the games, but I hate censorship as much as you do."

Gamergate: "Ohmigosh, while digging through your trash we discovered that you're a pedophile? Hey Nintendo, fire her for being a pedophile! (Even though that seems completely hypocritical, in actuality, we're just out for blood.)"

At this point, Nintendo could have made some statement of "Hey Gamergate, f-off, we're not firing anyone." But they didn't. Gamergate had nothing on Alison, but Nintendo played it safe and demoted her for being fired upon due to Nintendo's actions (the game censorship).

Gamergate didn't quit digging, and they found actionable dirt on Alison. A real firing offense. So Nintendo fired her. And the unspoken message Nintendo sends out is "Good job Gamergate. Keep on digging, work hard and find real dirt on every SJW in our organization, that way we can fire them all and then you can have your face-petting minigame back."

Regardless of how trivial something is, provoking SJWs always has the potential of erupting out of control, so it's usually worth it. It's too bad most of the pro-GG side also takes itself too seriously.

Here's how devs should handle any of these "controversies":

1. Have a vote of whether the "problematic" material should be removed.
2. Remove or keep based on the vote.
3. Offer a mod/choice in options that implements the unpopular version.

Somehow, I don't think the SJW option would win, but who knows? Whoever loses, they still have the choice to play the version they want. People still complaining are just exposing themselves as assholes for trying to dictate other people's game experiences.

Not gonna lie, pin-up based or not that actually has more personality anyway, so semper fi to Blizz on this one for trolling those idiots - my respect has been restored for Overwatch.
