Well, shit.
After the closing of the Gamergate III thread, since it had largely run its course, I don't think anyone really expected the thermonuclear holocaust of insanity that has been the Alison Rapp response. And since @Vitriol accidentally pruned the thread in a way that I couldn't re-open it, I'm left no choice but to open it back up here myself.
Why are we re-opening it? Well, I'll let @Dynastia sum it up pretty succintly:
He raises an excellent point, and I've had several other users reply similarly, that the prospect of a happening like Rapp essentially demands that we keep a thread open for discussion, as even if nothing happens for some time, discussion is going to go on regardless.
So here it is.
I'll direct people new to the discussion to @Watcher's Gamergate FAQ, and to my own Gamergate surmised from a Kiwi perspective and Gamergate Lolcow Summary.
At this point at the end of March 2016, we're covering what's arguably the biggest happening to occur in months, the Alison Rapp scandal, where Alison Rapp, an Anti-GGer who also happens to be for lowering ages of consent and for defending child porn ownership got fired by Nintendo before it was revealed that there was another, far more idiotic reason: that she was moonlighting as a nude model, posting lewds from her PR account, and going on lengthy diatribes about rape culture when she's ostensibly supposed to be acting as a Nintendo mouthpiece.
She faces allegations from anonymous posters, however, thus far unconfirmed, that she also was leaking sales data and company internal information to a number of Games Journos, which might explain the absolutely hilarious self-destruction we've seen on the part of Patrick Klepek and friends.
