Foreign ownership of clubs has ruined the British game and has hurt every team still owned by the fans in Europe. The transfer market remains inflated during covid restrictions as even Bayern Munich can’t make a profit being run how a club should be. I wish the premier league would just be cut off from the rest of soccer because the perennial spending habits of their top teams is frankly retarded and is ruining the sport.
The premier league itself is more ruining clubs at the lower levels. If you look at clubs in the Championship, League 1, and even League 2, you will see just how terrible their finances are year after year. Yet the fans of the clubs are fucking awful too. Just listen to them talk about what the owner needs to do and its spend massive amounts of money on new players while getting rid of other players that they, and probably most others, don't want at the price they currently have. Everything about the EPL is fucked beyond belief

After losing to Newcastle, it looked like Brentford were going to get into the relegation scrap. And with wins against Norwich and Burnley, they safely got out of there just as quickly as they entered
With all the injuries dealt with and the addition of Eriksen, you can see this is a vastly different side. Beat Leicester next week and it opens things up for Brentford

Yeah it is but its nice to have survived this scrap. Now the Leicester game has different meaning
6 points from 9th place now. Sure they've had 1/2 more games than others, but finishing in the top half would be nice as a fan.

Plus Toney is now the 5th highest goal-scorer this season. Could easily move into 2nd or 3rd, considering the games ahead against Leicester, Watford and West Ham. I guess he might get his dream Liverpool move after all.

I would think being the team that survives their first year after promotion is normally a success for clubs from the Championship. Considering Watford and Norwich look like they will be going down, finishing 15th or higher should be a massive accomplishment for the club

Beating a mid table team clearly means you are winning the title

ngl as fun as it's been watching Ronaldo seethe for most of the season, I hope United are able to make top 4. It would be just sad watching him play in Europa league next year. Or even worse, going to PSG as they seem to be the only club that can afford his wages. Arsenal is definitely in the driver's seat but one of their games in hand is against Liverpool so who knows.

Also got a big laugh out of Romero screaming in Maguire's face after his own goal, what an absolute disaster of a defender :story:

Leeds win and Everton loss is starting to shape the bottom 4 teams fighting for the 1 spot to survive. Although Leeds are only 4 points ahead, they got an important win that makes them seem like they can get out of the shithole.

Its hard to see this Arsenal team not finishing top 4. What will be interesting to see is if Chelsea drop so many points through the UK being inept, that they end up getting into a fight for champions league next year

I think Burnley will recover (via dire draws) and Everton will blow it, since the only viable element about them is the midfield. I think that penalty shout from Manchester City may indirectly have long-term impact.

Than come the Summer window, Leeds are raided of any notable talent and crash out the 22/23 league with Crystal Palace; seeing as Gallagher has been the teams crutch for a while now.

Man Watford don't want to give up though. I could see this battle for 18th being between Burnley and Watford with Everton almost dropping to Norwich levels

Feels quite strange seeing Everton in a relegation scrap but on the other hand it's certainly more entertaining to see unfold than watching Norwich get rinsed every other season.

One of the most unfortunate things about the Premier League is Norwich's existence. Every time they go up, it makes the relegation battle a little less interesting because you can with 100% certainty peg them as 1 of the 3 teams going down the same season.

They are like Rotherham but a league higher. Always dominating the bottom league and struggling in the top league

You can say the same for the baggies and Watford too

Also, lol pep gg for choking that lead in the prem, wasn't it like 12 points at one point

It was 12 but liverpool had games in hand. I for one, appreciate pep for choking the prem so that there is a title race, a race for the champions league, and a relegation scrap. Makes the league more exciting
