I still can't get over how brazenly the UK government stalled the Newcastle deal. The deal was agreed around 18 months ago but kept getting stalled and stalled for some reason or another up until that piracy case was resolved and suddenly the deal goes through. I still believe the whole deal was to sabotage it so the Saudis would "withdraw" other than the UK government having to come up with a reason why they couldn't buy the club that somehow didn't apply to any club beforehand.
I do think English football is heading for a complete collapse here and the Chelsea situation may well be the first domino to fall.

Foreign ownership of clubs has ruined the British game and has hurt every team still owned by the fans in Europe. The transfer market remains inflated during covid restrictions as even Bayern Munich can’t make a profit being run how a club should be. I wish the premier league would just be cut off from the rest of soccer because the perennial spending habits of their top teams is frankly retarded and is ruining the sport.
