"Number 1 rule of stock car racing: If you're going to wreck someone else, don't wreck yourself."I'm not much into NASCAR, but it appears that it's not uncommon for a driver to bonk someone else off the track. The sport in general seems a bit more "full contact" than F1 and doesn't penalize stuff that would get you a DSQ in F1.
Hamilton would get his ass handed to him in a sling cause suddenly, everyone is driving a car with the same performance and people would just put their elbows out. If Hamilton thinks Checo's driving in Abu Dhabi was "dangerous", just cause he dared fight back effectively, imagine Hamilton getting a love-tap from another driver in NASCAR![]()
You can't just crash into another car with zero disregard for the other driver's safety, but NASCAR drivers have perfected what's known as the "bump n' run." Tap the rear end of the other guy's car with the nose of yours, spin him out, drive on to victory. Rubbing is racing after all.

Its not penalized because stock cars are basically tanks in comparison to F1. Its also a self-regulating system. If you wanna drive around and ruin other people's races by spinning them out that's fine. But one day one of those drivers is going to remember what you did to them and ruin your good season.
In reality, Hamilton would play out a lot like Danica Patrick, who most of the F1 community with recognize as "That chick at COTA doing pre-race commentary" this year. Danica was a rising star in indycar, who was drawn to NASCAR by the huge contract deals and fame. She tried to race cars with twice the weight and half the tire like they were indycars, and sucked as a result. The high point of her career in stock cars was leading a couple laps and not managing to crash into the wall at the same time.
