Just watched the race replay. That penalty for Piastri was pretty bollocks. He only locked up after the Merc started squeezing him (not that he could go anywhere with the ferrari there) and he had to slow more. It should have been a racing incident, or at most 5 seconds with the mitigation that it wasn't 100% him.

Even fucking Ted who thinks any none Brit drivers should be lynched from the starting gantry for daring to not let the Brits past called it a racing incident.

In other news if you ever needed evidence that lewlew is washed (you know aside from the entirety every post 2021 season, especially this one) it is this race. Fucks his car into another on the start throwing himself to the back then drives it up the ass of another car on a straight.

I agree that Hamilton is washed, he is hoping that by some miracle the 2026 cars will be much more to his liking, but as he turns 41 next year, it won't matter, as he won't be able to convincingly demonstrate if the car is more to his liking or not.

I'm wondering if he sees out the full 2026 season, especially if his decline continues at a rapid pace.

I think it depends on how competitive the Ferrari will be and how fast the prospective driver is (probably Bearman tbh). If the 2026 Ferrari is a shitbox or if Bearman doesn't really outshine the nog, he'll stay purely because of brand power and merch to be sold. If there's even a whiff of a possible WCC I think he'll be shitcanned for Ollie.

Especially if there is a sniff of any other leading team looking at Bearman.

If you want a comparrison of late career drivers look at Alonso, been in pretty shit cars for quite a while now but you very often get the feeling he has extracted everything possible out of the car. Lewlew on the other hand feels like he has failed to capitalise on the potential the cars he has had post 21 more often than not.

As I'm watching Stroll be useless (as per usual) I had a horrifying realization:
This Canadian dead-inside waste of flesh has been in F1 for 8 YEARS.

EDIT: I shouldn't be surprised by this point and yet I am, every time

Well, Alonso always did everything to extract speed from the car, Hamilton was gifted winning machinery without really putting in too much effort. One makes a driver sharp and keeps him in top shape, the other dulls him fast.

I mean just look how Hamilton began complaining nonstop in 2022. Mercedes went the wrong way with their car (was still decent though) and his radios became a bitchfest. And imho Hamilton defeated Leclerc on pure pace in exactly one race: his home GP in Silverstone. The others? Leclerc was better and the few times Hamilton ended before Leclerc was more of a strategy fuck up or outside influence. I mean ffs. he was faster then Hamilton with a damaged car in China. Heck even Sainz managed to get a podium before Hamilton did. Let that sink in (Sprints don't count btw)

Ferrari chairman decided to go with public criticism of Hambone and Leclerc.

Looks like we're going back to the good older days of Ferrari where a driver shit talking the car or team is death.

I wonder how much bloois is seething over that one.

I wonder though is that aimed at both drivers or at Hamilton specifically? I can't remember Leclerc being overly critical of the car except the "I will do do some wild setup idea" which is not aimed at his team but himself imho. Then again we all remember what happened to Prost when he said that his car drives like a truck

2 double dnf, 1 double dq. the car is at most, 4th best. clearly, the problem is the drivers.

i hope leclerc has the balls to call it out.

Probably both.

This season, we've had Hulk drag the Kick Sauber shitbox to the podium and Bearman looking better than anyone expected the last couple of races.

If those things are possible, what is Team Ferrari's excuse?

i hope leclerc has the balls to call it out.
Maybe it's me being a new follower of this shit, but it's hard for me to believe that Chuck isn't more hype than he is results. I'd be shocked if he developed any balls before end of 2026 when he's free and clear to go shopping for another team.

Wow, that is a fairly significant comment for the head dude to make. You know it's going to be mentioned during interviews with Charles and Lewis when we return to action so what will they say? If Ferrari finishes 4th, that won't be going down well. And if Bearman finishes season in this form...

Wouldn't it be great if Ferrari have the "Checo" talk with Hamilton and he fucking completely leaves the sport before next season. Highly optimistic I know, but definitely the lovefest is over from the team's perspective. Maybe even with Charles. He did say "We...have driverS".

Wouldn't it be fucking fantastic if we are 4 or 5 races into next season and Hamilton is showing he is completely washed up and/or complaining frequently. Meanwhile Bearman is tearing up the track and showing he has "it".

How great would it be if they use RB tactics and swap him out. Get rid of Ham and bring in Bearman. That would be so satisfying to see his career end that way! You ain't the biggest nig on the block bro.

I like to imagine in some other part of the multiverse this is how it will play out. LOLOL
Especially if there is a sniff of any other leading team looking at Bearman.
I wonder how tight his Ferrari contract is? Would RB take a chance on him? Other 2 top teams he has nowhere to go. He is probably very loyal to Ferrari at the moment as well.

The biggest injustice in the sport is Hamilton getting more love than Fernando.

Not that Alonso should be hailed as the GOAT, but Hamilton reads as a fucking princess, meanwhile, Alonso reads as the guy who has seen some shit, done some shit, and will talk all the shit over some beers.

Maybe it's because people like divas better or that the sport leans way too much into rich people turf, so a pretty boy gets more love. Give me the working class hero that knows his shit any day of the week.

Well, Leclerc achieved all Ferrari podiums plus one pole. At least he somehow manages to get results. And without Antonelli he would have scored even more points in Zandvoort and Brasil. Not to mention putting the car in P3 in quali as well after a dissapointing Sprint
Sure, but between a 7-time champ and a guy that is supposed to have as much talent as Verstappen, it's almost supernatural how lousy they present themselves.

Fair enough. Ferrari took a lot of money in their hands to hire Hamilton and also made major changes to the car. Might have been smarter to keep Sainz for at least another year. At least Sainz managed to get a podium before Hamilton. Ouch. I mean Hamilton will be the Ferrari driver who took the longest to get a podium if he ever gets one. Even Nicola Larini got a Ferrari podium ffs
