I don't fucking believe it, what a race. Verstappen showing off his skills, mega drive from Antonelli, Piastri in poor form, perhaps due to a broken car (although he should have just punted Norris completely off tbh) Hadjar showing excellent promise

"Amazing fans here" as he's being boo'd
"We weren't the fastest on he grid" would have been a 1-2 if not for the penalty

That's why people hate you, you moron

Edit; Max lives rent free in his head, we'll see him crack I'm sure

If Verstappen had this car in Quali it would have been even more exciting. That's why Sprint weekends are a double edge sword because teams have to shoot from the hip to get a good setup. Just look at Ferrari, Leclerc did a switch to a rear wing he never had used until now (and it bloody worked) while Hamilton choose Leclerc's rear wing and look how that ended

3 more races, it will be interesting to see if Hamilton can go the whole season without a podium.

He already has the longest debut streak with Ferrari in terms of not landing a podium, to cap off a 24 race season without one, would be quite the achievement.

If that had happened then he would have won. The sprint shit is ridiculous when it comes to practice, but the no testing rule is really hitting everyone hard.

i like the idea of extending fp1 on sprint weekend to 75 minutes from next season, 90 would be better though. hopefully it goes through

Aston Martin's strategy of starting both drivers on hards worked out very poorly. Alonso's first stint was looking great, then it collapsed pretty hard.

Is it me or did most people just let Max through ? Probably because they want to see an interesting finale, and there's nothing to gain from blocking him (this late in the season).

There were tons of crashes early on, meaning they kind of got screwed again and again, at each start losing track position. Theoretically it could have been good, trying to go for a one stop, maybe on a v/sc in the middle of the race but the interlagos gods decided otherwise

Thanks to DRS, if the car behind you is <5/10 away at the exit of the corner leading onto the straight, there’s nothing you can do to keep them behind.

I really wished I could have seen this race as Interlagos seems to always deliver on some of the best racing on the calendar. 16 to 3rd with another masterclass drive from Max and Antonelli having another podium for a rookie. I laugh that Lando is being booed on the podium which is never good for any driver

Btw Antonelli has now broken Hamilton's record of 2007 (the most points as a rookie). Though it is fair to say that we now have a completely different points system. Still, it counts
Though Hamilton also had a genuine championship contender car which the Merc isn't there being only a sometimes podium car.

Merc won 2 races this year and is currently P2 in the championship. So the car isn't that bad. Also Antonelli is just 20 points behind Hamilton now. If he didn't have his streak of bad luck at the beginning he might even be in front of Hamilton.
