Frankly, I don't see how that was Stroll's fault.truly a certified Lance Stroll™ moment in Q1
By patiently waiting for the race and hoping for a strong showing under those conditions, presumably.bottas bros, how do we recover?
I love ya man, but don't agree with you. Stroll needs to check his mirrors and get glasses. I'd put it at 75/25 Stroll's fault. I also love that every time Stroll collides with or blocks another car, he is on radio cursing and blaming other guy, yet 8 times out of 10, he is the one deemed at fault! LOL
Also FIA hit Stroll with a start grid penalty for causing a collision. I heavily disagree with that one, he was driving regularly and it was Latifi who suddenly pounced into the apex inside of Stroll's car. Well, whatever.
No hard feelings, Stroll is a dipshit that never checks his mirrors and he has forced teammates off the track with his utterly bizarre style of racing.I love ya man, but don't agree with you. Of course man! Its all discussion and viewpoints. Not flamewar material. No hard feelings, Stroll is a dipshit that never checks his mirrors and he has forced teammates off the track with his utterly bizarre style of racing.
To me, the overtake by Latifi just came too sudden and too out of left field. Stroll could have prevented the crash by checking his mirrors, but I'd say that the maneuver by Latifi was entirely something you don't need to expect.
Well, in the end of the day, it's two drivers that wouldn't be in F1 if it weren't for Daddy's purse, so at least it didn't directly harm any driver that actually earned their seat.
Absolutely. And it's the mark of great F1 drivers to have insane amounts of situational awareness that prevents this exact kind of crash under much more stressful situations during a race. But shouldn't an F1 driver be ready to expect anything that could happen?
Absolutely. I edited my post just after your post to indicate how I rate Stroll (I don't! LOL)Absolutely. And it's the mark of great F1 drivers to have insane amounts of situational awareness that prevents this exact kind of crash under much more stressful situations during a race.
Stroll has the situational awareness of a lobotomized starfish.
I wholeheartedly agree with what you said. Mazepin was a terrible driver as well and he was -shock of all shocks- a pay-driver, too.Absolutely. I edited my post just after your post to indicate how I rate Stroll (I don't! LOL)
The car wasn't unfixable I guess, but it would be a hard piece of work and who knows how intend his team is on wasting this much effort on the car when it might be smarter to just write off the entire weekend. It's kind of an effect of these super long seasons. When you're a backmarker like Williams and you have the choice of fixing your car and starting from the back or just sitting out the race and try again the next weekend, it might be better to go for the latter.Bets on Latifi not racing tomorrow (due to car destruction mainly) or if he does race, what lap will he crash.
I'd love to see a graphic that explains how much of a car gets replaced over the season. Such as new front-wings, sidepods and so on.That William's budget has got to be feeling a little tight with Latiffi playing destruction derby with the car every week. How far do we think $145 mil lasts when you have to build a new car every couple of weeks (maybe even 2 this time as we haven't had the race yet)? He's definitely pulling money from development if this keeps up.
In other news Albon disqualified for not being able to provide fuel sample.

Expressing his surprise at the sudden situation, Ricciardo explained: "This was the first time I'd heard about the fireproof underwear.
"Obviously we wear the leggings if you want to call it that, but we don't have actual underwear-underwear that's fireproof, so that was just more of a surprise. I'd never heard of it.
"If it helps keep us a bit safer in those situations then, of course, I'll invest in some. But I don't think they make them.
"Or at least our people that we get our race kit from I don't think, so we're going to have to get some custom ones.
"And I guess it's going to be tailor-made of course!"
