No one ever talks about these interview videos, so I'm bringing them up here as a means to explore why Super's manga is so crummy compared to the original:

At the 8 minute mark they start talking about how Toriyama uses a lot of build up while not actually drawing too much, allowing the reader's imagination to fill in the spaces between the panels. Goku going super saiyan for the first time is used as the example, and it's actually just one build up panel before his hair changes. Getting the reader to do all the hard work is totally alien to Toyotaro, and it's why his work looks so flat and still.
