Goku being the strongest ever seems to at least be a good motivation for Vegeta to better himself even though he'll always be second fiddle. Maybe deep down, he doesn't hate him as much because it was through him that he met Bulma and married back into money—I mean sired Trunks. Also Goku seemed to have always respected him as a warrior, something I don't think Nappa actually did.

When you put it that way, it really does seem like meeting Goku was the best thing that ever happened to him. If Raditz's scouter had broken or something, he would either still be bumming around in Frieza's army dealing with lowlifes or making some ill-informed play against the big man and getting himself killed.

Vegata and Goku's relationship is complicated, to say the least. I don't think Vegeta would ever want to see Goku die. He's certainly saves his life before. He seems to have a begrudging respect for Goku's power, even if he hates the fact that Goku is always ahead. Having said that, it would be a real stretch to say that he liked Goku, or wanted to spend any more time with him than he had to.

That's more of a DBS thing. At the end of Z and in GT they were pretty much buddies, and only had a friendly rivalry but one where Vegeta still acknowledged Goku is the best. They retconned that into Vegeta grudgingly tolerating Goku and still obsessing over surpassing him.

Watching this old clip of our greatest champion and I can't help but appreciate how good the M.C. is. Even I want to cheer for Mr. Satan.

Satan would atleast be Yamcha tier with proper ki training.

but his perfect the way he is. speaking of Yamcha,

have to give him some credit for not instantly dying. 10x is suppose to be a big deal. not sure how heavy king kai plant was.

"EDIT" yeah, it was 10x gravity. i remember one of Babidi henchman made a huge deal about his planet being 10x gravity compared to earth and Vegeta laughed his ass off.

I wonder about Mr. Satan. Aside from people with natural aptitude like Piccolo/Gohan, most of the Z-Fighters had their training when they were relatively young. I always wondered if going right back to the fundamentals of training to learn ki would be that useful to someone Satan's age (what is he? Like late 30s? Early 40s?). It would explain why he never bothered asking someone to teach him.

As for Yamcha, yeah it's impressive he didn't die but it's a dumb situation he put himself in in the first place. What was he even trying to prove anyway? That he's as much of a man as Vegeta? Even he had to work his way up to 300x. Yamcha was definitely thinking with his dick here and it almost got him killed.

It's always bothered me that Muten Roshi never learned the bukujutsu flight ability. Freakin' Videl was able to do it, so you think he could.
There was that subplot in Super where Roshi went into special training and I thought they would finally fix that problem. But they didn't.

For most of his life so far, flight - at least in the sense you mean i.e. not winged humanoids like Giran - was vanishingly rare. I'm pretty sure King Piccolo could do it, but he was considered a demon. It probably never occurred to him that humans could do it and he never encountered anyone who could teach him.

Did he train under Korin? He can float but he's not shown doing it very often.

God, that subplot in Super was garbage. Just reading your post brought it all back. Also, they had no way of knowing at the time, but it would have been wasted effort teaching Roshi to fly as flight was disabled during the tournament IIRC.

It's non-canon, but a good scene. Unfortunately a lot of Yamcha's best feats are just anime-only filler scenes, like helping kill Cell, 2-v-1ing Olibu & Gorilla, beating & matching Krillin in sparring, etc.

Shen, Roshi's rival, knew how to fly. I don't remember if it was stated or merely implied, but I seem to recall Roshi stubbornly choosing not to learn flight because it's Shen's technique like the Kamehameha is his or something like that, but I don't know.

There's probably a good reason if I dived into it, but it's baffling to me that Gohan and Bulma had to change VAs but Pilaf and Shu, of all characters, get to keep the same actors they had 20+ years ago.
Also, Trunks calling Mai his "main squeeze" is kinda cursed

Tiffany Volmer was actually supposed to come back as Bulma in Kai, according to an interview, but she had just had a baby and FUNimation didn't get back to her after the first call, and she never could get a hold of them afterwards. Kyle Hebert is still Gohan, his voice probably changed or something, I dunno.

Being 50 tends to do that.

As for Yamcha's coller moments being anime-only, even a cursory glance tells the viewer that the anime staff did everything they could to get the humans over with the audience. You'll notice the budget on Tien's kikoho against nigger Cell and his reveal shot against Buu are through the damn roof; even as early as 1994 the adult fans were sick of the super saiyan deluge.

Why is Chi-Chi still dressed like a mid-aged housewife despite being 12 again? No one complains about Vegeta and Goku because Saiyans have the same hair and practically demeanor from birth, and Hercule is Hercule any way you slice it, but good Lord. Even Bulma still has her bowl haircut when de-aged, but you could argue she could've looked like that as a kid since we don't have canon info on that and she changed her hairstyle all the time anyway. We know what Chi-Chi looked like as an infant, and they fucked her up.

Toei literally gives no fucks about this because DBZ fans will keep giving them money.

That doesn't make things any better tbh. It's Dragon Ball Babies but they still have adult brains, and that's creepy. The Internet was a mistake.
Does @YellowIsACoolColor have a tsundere crush on you or what? As for the designs it is rather lazy, Hercule won this contest hands-down. Also to hell with Goten and Trunks I guess, not much can be done with them as toddlers even in a goofball comedy.

They don't have the balls to give her the outfit she actually wore when she was 12:
