Of course they won’t do that, in modern BioWare games. But given this game is set in Tevinter, imagine an actual Tevinter supremacist pc. Violently hates the Qunari and sees Solas’ plot as confirming every fear and stereotype about elves.

But yeah, Sera is such an unpleasant character-so much so even the uwu Dalish are like POC oppressed and what not fans hate her.
They dislike her because she believes the Dalish religion to be a bunch of lies and acts like it, and generally has zero fucks to give about traditional elven culture.

Modern BioWare really hates the idea of player agency.
Healing magic - cut
Blood magic - cut
Arcane warrior - cut
Shape-shifting - cut

So what do mages even do? Throw a few fireballs and then guard for the rest of the fight?

Article also implies you'll be locked into a heroic role and unable to make evil/morally grey choices, even Inquisition had that shit.

I'm actually really looking forward to this, it has the potential to be the disaster that finally gets Bioware shut down.

Weekes said blood magic is "nasty" I'm sorry what, firstly its not real, its a fucking fantasy game, secondly that's the point. Blood Magic is treated as a taboo dubious thing to do because your using blood(the essence of life) for power ups. The tumblr fandom is just cancerous.

ME4 will be the make or break, for Bioware. If this fails, EA will probably downsize it even more, and fire even more of the staff.

It's set in Tevinter, the country of blood mages, and you can't play an evil blood mage? Wtf is the point of the game then?
What does the retard even mean by "nasty stuff"? Even in Origins is was the key to mind controlling people and doing all sorts of fucked shit, they just massively limited what the player could do with it, so I'm not seeing the issue here.

Auto-attack the same way as warriors and rogues, but instead of swinging a sword or firing boring uncolourful arrows, you shoot pride-themed coloured orbs. So hecking euphoric.

The problem is that the troon and other gender special writers want to tell their MCU story where Steve Rogers Rooke recruits his team of Avengers Veilguard, who become a happy family, and fight against the evil gods and fascist Tevinters. Letting you, the player, define your protagonist as anything other than either 'cool hero' or 'sarcastic hero' would surely ruin their epic story. You can't be a heckin wholesome big chungus hero if you're using icky, evil blood magic.

Trannyfags can't do magic. They're incompetent and the part of the brain that creates fantasy, is used 24/7 to convince themselves that they're totally a woman.

Imagine an RPG without a proper mage class. lol, lmao even.

Has anyone sussed out if you can play a character of Tevinter background? It would make perfect sense, and would humanize the 'Vints even more than Dorian managed ... but if you can be from Tevinter but can't be a blood mage, then the emerging dumpster fire of this game stinks even more. Nothing but sweet heckin' wholesome party members, shitlord!

The only thing dark about this fantasy is the cast, not even fantastical anymore just fucking obnoxiously lit magicpunk DnD slop.

I saw on twitter, someone actually blamed gamergate for BioWare moving away from anti heroes and player agency. “Um the chuds sent death threats and that’s why BioWare is doing this”.

Tranny and libtard writers moving to this marvel simplicity (wholesome chungus protagonists that would never hurt a fly, unless fly did a fascism) with no other options seems to be where a lot of media has been going in the past decade.

Maybe that’s because liberals and trannies just want re affirmation? Or maybe they actually enjoyed didactic plots after all?

That’s honestly worth a thread in its own right, how liberals in media lost interest in “moral complexity” and became die hard defenders of “heroes gud villains bad” writing.

Because it’s not just a BioWare phenomenon. You see this in Hollywood, video games and much else-the hero can’t have any unsavory beliefs, opinions or do anything remotely questionable, whereas the villains are reduced to the most one dimensional caricatures if they can be.

Makes sense that blood magic is out, they already know their audience can't tell fiction from reality as they themselves are having massive trouble with that. Really don't want to instill the idea that you can slit your wrists to gain power into them, they'd double the 41% in a week. Ack!

I’ve tried reading explanations for this, and my only read is liberals and liberal trannies(but I repeat myself) seem to be uncomfortable if their narratives step out of their confined boxes.

“Uh I think it sends bad messages if heroes sacrifice people” “do we really want heroes that do nasty things in 2024?”

I dunno, you see it but I can’t explain it. When did liberals become so sensitive to this?

I guess that is what happens when people can't make the difference between fiction and reality.
It’s just bizarre to me in the early 2010s and 2000s liberals were all about “complex and morally nuanced storytelling”-that was GOT’s entire selling point. It’s not “simple good guys and bad guys like say lord of the rings”.

Yet they seem to have morphed into “the good guys can do basically no wrong and the bad guys are totally eeeevil”

When did this happen? Is it a consequence of the trump presidency?
