Was coming to post this - this was yet another one of those "wait I follow this page on Zuccbook?" moments. The fact there's people actually excited for this baffles me - even ignoring how bad this is likely to look in a post BG3 world, the only reason I can think of that there's any excitement is that the last DA game was released 10 years ago(!) and people look back on it with some serious nostalgia. Just ignoring that Inquisition was, in hindsight, incredibly mid at the most generous, and that Biowares output since has been the drizzling shits.
Honestly I'm just taking this as confirmation they've built this on Frostbite like they did with Andromeda and Anthem. Y'know, because that worked out so fucking well for them.
I'm half convinced that keeping the lights on at Bioware is someone laundering money. The DEI cheques they get for keeping these fucks open can't be worth the garbage output, and EA has shuttered studios for significantly less, and I doubt The Old Republic was pulling in the kind of numbers needed to justify keeping the studio open - and per some quick Google Fu apparently a different studio took over development on that game last year, so now I'm even more confused...
